You could even say almost a death metal vibe which I think could've influenced some of the later bands, think about it Human Sacrifice-1988, Slowly We Rot-1987? I think they're just as important as Obituary or Death really

I can't speak for all the reasons but I believe it had something to do with the label. The band over spent on the Once Dead tour. The band also split from Roger and became Die Happy with Robin Kyle on lead vocals. After that ended the band recently got together under the name Once Dead.

If you can track down the HM Magazine from the late 90's where Doug Van Pelt interviewed Ted Kirkpatrick about Roger it would give you a lot of insight.

Vengeance was and is still a great band and spiritual influence for me. As backslidden and "worldly" as I've become these last years, this stuff still ministers to me and can bring me to my knees.
