Very nice ! just two things to remember: He wasn't a Baron (his title was ''Freiherr'' and he was killed by an australian MG. Low flying was risky. ;-)
@Yulo2000Leyje You are right about the "Frieherr", as to the ANZACs shooting him down, it can't be proven, but the evidence suggest it to be true. Like all things in combat, the Zoomies, Airedales, and if you don't get the get slang pilots the credit.
it's a Little known Fact but Von Rictor Preferred the Fokker DR-1 Over the one showed in this Video, the one in this Video is the Fokker DR-IV Witch Von Rictor only Flew once During WWI
The credits list Ouran Host Club... who from there and where do they appear? Also, which character plays the Red Baron, or is he an OC just for the song?
*Raises glass thanks me lord! Good job, gents join me in toast to Lord Drako Arakis the Red Barron, and all the combat aviators! Thumbs up to join me!
One thing about The Red Baron that I truly find interesting is that we always associate him with the Fokker DR I Triplane. Most of his kills were made in various versions of the Albatross.
@LordDrakoArakis your work is truly amazing i was wondering if you could pull some classic sea shanties such as fifteen men on a dead man's chest, Spanish ladies
@cosmisstrissXriku No coincidence! The Knights Templar were warriors of which a number were German. And they did indeed revere "St. Michael The Archangel" as the Patron Saint of Warrior's. The German's continued to revere "Michael" and the Iron Cross became a sign associated with such. "Catholic Iconology" even in a country half Lutheran continued to play it's part in "Nationalism" as, did its many "Masonic Brotherhood's". That is until the damn Nazi's sodemized everything!!!
@WWII4444 Yes, you're right. But, remember the "Early Catholic Church" was smart to marry ancient arcane tradition's from region to region to their new thing. And thus many Anglo-Saxon tradition's were born in Germany. The ancient "Teutons and Hun's" after the arrival of "The Church" were quick to pick up on "St. Michael the Archangel" as their Patron Saint as they had always had a Warrior Spirit to watch over them. Throughout Germany's Modern History "St. Michael" was always a force.
@cosmisstrissXriku Sorry if I sound like a doggone know it all. I guess I'm just really into history. Actually, I can be a terrible fanatic in my love for such. Are you headed to "SAC-ANIME"? It's Sept. 3rd - 5th!
@cosmisstrissXriku.I spent too much on Naruto Commission's again. I wanted Naruto as a 442nd Master Seargent leading a platoon against the hated Waffen SS. Gara is bayonetting one, Naruto just clubbed one in the face with his Thompson, Rock Lee is mowing 'em down with the B.A.R. And Neji wounded with his M1 Carbine jammed just shot one in the face with his Colt .45 sidearm.
@Briselance A very Happy New Year to you Briselance and I hope your Holiday Season was a good one. Do you live in Britain? I'm just curious that's all...... We've been having the kind of weather here in The Central Valley for the last three days that, I here about in the British Isle's. Very wet, wooly, and windy. And we're inland from the Ocean quite a way's too......There's some rather interesting energy in the air too, if you know what I mean? Creepy Stuff!
@Briselance I hope you don't laught at me for this.....but, what I was alluding to without attracting anything scearier than I already have to deal with was. "Creepy energy of a spiritual variety. Besides living in the house my great grandparents built back in 1915. Which isn't that old compared to Europe but plenty old for "Central California". I've always had to deal with sceary spiritual stuff. The stuff Anime Storymen use for a plotline. ......Hopefully you don't think I'm mad as a hatter.
Many people have no idea of who Lufberry, Luke, Boelcke, Udet or Ball were. Or that the comical Hermann Goering of WWII (the fat nazi who wore makeup) was really a decorated WWI combat ace. All you are doing with this is serving as the latest way keeping the memory of the greatest flying ace in WWI alive in the memory of the general public. If people want to know more they can go read one of the many biographies on von Richthofen which may spur them to look into the lives of the other aces.
Lord Drako: No apology is nessecary. While the song is a perfect example of 60s bubble gum music, I think that The Royal Guardsman, Charles Schultz and The Pizza Company have done more to keep the memory of Manfred von Richthofen alive where so many others are forgotten by the public. Unless you are an air combat historian or military combat pilot, most people think that the Immelman is a neat combat maneuver as opposed to having been a real person.
No Todrow, Revenge of the Red Baron was played during the credits. What is needed now a rendition of Snoopy's Christmas (Third cut on the The Royal Guardsman album) but that would probgably have to wait until Christmas. THe uniforms and plains were well done.
Great Great song.
