I have played alot of D&D 3.5, but this is totally different! What did they do with the fourth edition?

@norsknerd they simplified it and balanced it. each class has a specific set of abilities to choose from that consist of any-time, encounter, and day, so that no class can be like "oh hey, only one encounter today, so i'll just spam maximized fireball" they also made a number of changes, so that new players could just 'get it' and not be like, "why do i have a million skills and a thousand feats" It's not great, but it gets people into the game, and quickly, some people like 3.5 better

@grandobsidian The spells' flavor text is really scary and dangerous sounding, but the damage typically comes from the avengers (the class Aeofel is), the warlocks, rogues and other "striker" classes. The wizards really help control the bad guys, keeping some of them out of the fight or helping clear out the little annoying monsters with the "big bada-boom" spells (like Jim wiping out everyone on the platform). This game really shows off what each class is really about.

Does anyone else find themselves skipping ahead every time Wheaton starts to take it too seriously? I like the guy, but jeez he tries too hard. You can see how uncomfortable Jerry gets each time he goes over the top.

When a zombie minion has knocked your Hydra prone...you need to rethink your combat tactics as a DM.

@Darkmage1293 A zombie minion just knocked a hydra prone by beating on its head with a severed arm, all to a cheering crowd reaction. I don't think his combat tactics are a big issue here.
