Valid observation about the anthem and then battles. However, keep in mind that though the federation wishes to maintain peaceful relations with all races as well as to avoid war through diplomacy you must still remember that the federation and especially starfleet is NOT a pacifist organization. They like to avoid war but will fight to the last man to defend the federation against any agressors. So far, they have had stellar success with this. Borg, Dominion, Etc defeated and humiliated.

I think the german national hymn (post war/45), the new one would be the best match for it. The melody is great, but not coming from the drinking song like the american hymn, not so pomp like many others and the lyrics could easiely match the principles of the federation, not so bongstoned like the stars and striples or country overloving like the french or others...in fact the lyrics kind of match already, but the german ones are more peaceful and wise, not the useless kind of patriotism.
