The game is ready for release and 100% complete (NTSC version). As Europe have different laws and policies, although the 360 version is ready for release, there are problems with the PAL PS3 version so the release date for both consoles in the UK has now been put back to 30/10/09. If you cast your minds back you may remember the exact same thing happened with GTA. The PAL version has been handed out to devs and 1 leaked
online which is currently spreading rapidly. This is a common thing to happen in todays day and age. All big titles that have been released in the previous 12 months have been spread on the internet up to 5 months before official release. Do a quick search on Google.
ZootFly canned the game in '07 because Vivendi bought the rights to the Ghostbusters video game, which is the one being released on June 16th. This game is completely unrelated from that game.

Also: The camera in this look quick and shaky, which makes for a more enriched and immersive atmosphere, like in Deadspace or Gears of War2 - the new gameplay trailers I've been seeing for this game, seem to all have a really boring static camera - a la tomb raider.

To make it good, they should make it like Zelda. Go to various buildings with the ghosts, and have the buildings turned into dungeons that you have to fight through, with a kickass boss encounter at the end.

I believe that this game is actually not the ghostbusters game. It is now a game called TIMEO which is similar. This company was unable to get the licenses to the GS franchise and thus reskinned the game. So don't worry this won't be what the GhostBusters game will look like. Cheers!
Just don't *gamerize* the game by adding *bigger guns, outandish costumes etc.* What's difficult is finding the right mix to gain new gamers to the game, but also keep it true to the movies to keep die hard GB fans happy.

I read the creators read these comments :).I must say the angle of view is great and so looks the atmosphere! The idea of a kind of free roam would be awsome, seen it's kind of the new standard for these kinds of games. It looks less cartoony than the Vivendi vids I've seen. The car should be the same of the movie.. Hope it's due to license problems. And not too much of the same ghosts/animations would be nice (read: not boring). Euphoria and DDM would be a great implimentation.

This project was announced / revealed (posted by Zootfly) while Sony/Sierra/Vivendi's official Ghostbusters project was already in development and under wraps. Zootfly couldn't get the license, because it was already taken.
If you look in the GameInformer that announced the official game (Dec 2007), it says the project began "last spring", meaning the project was started in secret by Terminal Reality and Red Fly as early as Spring 06.

I believe that this game is actually not the ghostbusters game. It is now a game called TIMEO which is similar. This company was unable to get the licenses to the GS franchise and thus reskinned the game. So don't worry this won't be what the GhostBusters game will look like. Cheers!

Just don't *gamerize* the game by adding *bigger guns, outandish costumes etc.* What's difficult is finding the right mix to gain new gamers to the game, but also keep it true to the movies to keep die hard GB fans happy.
But the game looks great. The atmosphere, sounds, looks etc are very nice. Hope it'll be available for the pc too :)

I read the creators read these comments :).I must say the angle of view is great and so looks the atmosphere! The idea of a kind of free roam would be awsome, seen it's kind of the new standard for these kinds of games. It looks less cartoony than the Vivendi vids I've seen. The car should be the same of the movie.. Hope it's due to license problems. And not too much of the same ghosts/animations would be nice (read: not boring). Euphoria and DDM would be a great implimentation.

well considering this is a prototype from zootfly that is not going to be released and vivendi games has the actual license this is obsolete if you want the real gameplay footage from the real game comming out in october look up official ghostbusters game the car is the real one the ghost busters are the same and the story is a continuation of part 2 its basically part 3 but as a game

theres nothing wrong with the proton streams idiot like i said they are movie accurate and besides there are more then one proton stream effect due to the new experimental packs that you will get to try out in the game so how do you know you didnt see one of those???

The prototype reminds me of Dan aykroyd's original pitch for Ghostbusters, when it was set in the future.

This project was announced / revealed (posted by Zootfly) while Sony/Sierra/Vivendi's official Ghostbusters project was already in development and under wraps. Zootfly couldn't get the license, because it was already taken.
If you look in the GameInformer that announced the official game (Dec 2007), it says the project began "last spring", meaning the project was started in secret by Terminal Reality and Red Fly as early as Spring 06.

hate to kill the buzz. but i don't think that the ghostbusters game.. why is there a voice that says don't cross the streems when your the only one there? and also i don't think there ganna let you kill people, that looks nothing like the proton back, and the ghostbusters car looks a bit crapy compared to the other graphics. and if you look at the other videos for the game, you can just see this looks nothing likee any of them.. someones trying to be funny.. nice try though.
