  • There are 20 truly tone deaf people who have rated this video. . . Amazing that anyone could dislike this!!!

  • If this is the music in heaven i want to go tonight !!

  • RIP Luciano

  • Love this man and his voice!! His passion is so wonderful! Bless you dear Pavoritti

  • why is Elton JOhn in this picture..

  • @tippout

i dont think it has anything to do with elton john, but its the fact that pavarotti is in the picture.

  • Esto debería escucharse en estas fechas, que pena que se pierda la tradición cristiana.

    Good Bless

  • would really make people fall on their knees.

  • Merry Christmas from Toronto!

  • i just had to suffer a kinek commercial. Why would anybody want to play a fake instrument for? I can understand the use for the other things but playing air violin while it plays on the tv. Silly give the girl a real instrument.

  • inimitables ....... merveilleux

  • Why do I cry everytime I hear Pavarotti? This music is so moving.

  • Great so Great! Merry X Mass to all.

  • @reycanoy31 MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO YOY TOO!

  • Luciano was the greatest- I totally agree with you! His singling leaves me speechless!

  • Well I'm 17 and I don't think that's old at all in fact way too young to be honest... In fact it's such a shame to see such talent go to waste so early :( R.I.P Pavarotti

  • Who are the losers that actually "dislike" Pavarotti? You're giant losers. Seriously, get a life.

  • So I have always wondered about this. As a native speaker of English and a vocal performance major (i tend to favor musical theatre but have done my fair share of opera, we work for hours on the pronunciation of songs and arias so that we are true to the language we are singing. I admit that Pavoratti's voice is pure gold, but I found in almost offensive that he wouldn't do our language the justice that we give his when singing. Comments?

  • @johndavidryan Sort of agree, but it is a toughie because he's so good..

  • Inspiring

  • The 1st voice in the song, Carreras'.

  • @czren123 I think it is Domingo :)

  • It's so very Carreras, anybody recognize his voice?

  • This rendition lacks the expression you would expect to find from this song. The words are sung too short in parts and way to abrupt, not sure if this is because of his accent. Much better versions of this song. Still the guy has an amazing voice.

  • I just love his voice

  • Beautiful

  • Loving those backup vocals.

  • This gives me goosebumps.

    SylviaZA

  • not knockin these guys but david phelps is much better. listen 2 him do o holy night.....

  • inspirational song such as this, surely give us moments to get close to Lord in Heaven!

  • Placido Domingo is the best in the world.

  • me encanta esta cancion.......escuchenla tambien con paul potts...excelente

  • very nice!

  • anglic....classic...utmost satisfaction for my drawings and writings thanks Luciano and Domingo...RIP my dear friend Luciano......from Sri Lanka

  • ! me encanta la música clásica

  • where it was flashed the picture on the min. 2.10?,i think it was a castle or some like that...thanks

  • Great Lucciano, great...

    Forza Italia!!!!

  • @salvagospain Luciano was the greatest.

  • @dumplink I gather you haven't heard Jussi Bjorling's version.

  • the thumbnail looked like Luciano Pavarotti and Elton John.. what's with that ??

  • No why silence i say sing along and enjoy for thats what musics about .

  • The most beautiful and moving performance of "O Holy Night". If angels sang, they would learn from this performance!

  • No one can hold a candle to this 'Match made in Heaven'. Tingle down my spine when the HIGH note is executed. This is a hearfelt and well delivered Hymn.

  • People that were close to him said that he was an arogant bastard

  • @AnarchyAhead dude... lol... is that true? that is so random.. i'm reading all these praises of him and then BOOM, your comment. lol

  • @tpstrat14

No it's not quite true, Italians close to him say he was a fat arrogant bastard...... ate too many sausages, 500 gramme pasta starters, small chidren, just about any thing he could get in his mouth. But he could still get up without a winch and sing his lungs out.... Brilliant!

  • @AnarchyAhead That is the best youtube comment I've read in a while. I'm still laughing. Thank you.

  • @AnarchyAhead LOL!

  • Luciano Pavrotti=Santa clause.

  • A magnificent tenor who is indeed sadly missed;RIP,Mr Pavarotti.

  • fab version of this classic and beautiflu song, brings tears to my eyes

  • Fantastic video,touching music.

    Like!

  • wieso ist auf dem bild elton john, der singt ja gar nicht mit ihm.

  • @justinbieberforking HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

  • Oh Holy Night is undoubtedly the most beautiful of all Christmas songs and is best sung by a magnificent tenor. Thanks for posting this.

  • Something about the tempo was all off for me, beautiful voice of course though.

  • @TheAngelusAnimi natural playing, not mistakes.

  • 8 people would rather have their testicles stomped than listen to the greatest

  • @dwayneyates ... still laughing

  • Respond to this video... still laughing

  • Bravo Bravo Luciano Pavarotti,,,,,,,,,,,, may your soul rest in peace and sing with the angels with our Lord.......

  • Now it just doesn't get any better than that.

  • amazing voice ...

  • Luciano I miss you so much. I was driving along when his voice came on the car radio, I had to stop the car, I sat there crying as he sang Holy Night. I saw him in the UK twice in 1992 at Sheffield Arena, never to be forgotton. Rest in Peace.

  • Again... I ask.... why can't anyone sing: "Oh, hear the angels' voices..." as though angels are singingh?.... Yes, this is a criticism. I'll listen again..... oh, woops, no angels' voices.... even Pavaroti...

  • @raadiodaysyt This is when they were older and if you knew anything you would know they did this in 1999... so don't comment if you don't know anything. As an opera singer gets older his/her voice begins to decay and it was an outstanding performance anyways... can you hit a high C... ya thats what I thought.

  • Es increible como cantan estos dos grandes tenores. Me siento orgulloso de uqe Placido Domingo sea ESPAÑOL. Que Dios tenga en su gloria al gran Luciano Pavarotti.

  • these men are the best till no one can perform like these men did RIP LUCIANO SING FOR THE ANGELS NOW : )

  • I am the greatest Fan from Luciano,I see in Munich before died. The greatest Tenor for me from all the other. The next best Tenor, my husband. If you want you can hear here at" Vuk the Star" Nessun Dorma.

    Greeting Eleanore

  • Enrico Caruso and Jussi Björling still overshadow all that misters Pavarottti, Domingo and Carreras ever came up to.

  • Enrico Caruso and Jussi Björling still overshadow all that misters Pavarottti, Domingo and Carreras ever came up to.

  • Enrico Caruso and Jussi Björling still overshadow all that misters Pavarottti, Domingo and Carreras ever came up to.

  • Great Hero of Tenors!

  • Pavarotti was a great man....one of the best in a dying genre, it's a shame for this to happen

  • Listen to to Jussi Björlings version. Pavarotti did not even come close. Search for "O helga natt"

  • @arcticreef I agree that Björling's was lovely, but I would not say that Pavarotti did not even come close.

Pavarotti's voice is sometimes a bit more steely, but it's more of a stylistic difference.

  • @Unguah1932

No, Jussi and Enrico are still to be mastered - I doubt they'll be! They were two masters. The clean voices they had are still to be found out there!

  • Cantique De Noel (O Holy Night) R.I.P. Dear Luciano

  • R.I.P Luciano Pavarotti, no one can replace you...this is so beautifully singing..thx for sharing...God Bless and may peace prevail on Earth

  • verry nice

  • coooool!

  • k is that u

  • May peace prevail on earth.

  • Merry Christmas to all

  • Beautiful! Thank you for posting. Happy Holidays everyone. Be Blessed!

  • Great, but I love Groban's version, as well.

  • Don't like Groban...not sophisticated enough.

  • Nobody but a trained opera singer should ever sing this song.

  • I think Josh Groban gives a fabulous performance with this masterpiece of music.

  • I don't know about a trained opera singer, but a trained, strong, voice is definitely required. This rendition is brilliant, but what would you expect from these artists?

  • dude i just watched david phelps version of it and it was good ...as is all his stuff almost ...but i still like wes hampton the best ...everyone is entitled to their own opinion right lol ...i was just surprised to see that someone new who david phelps was if you ain't on a christian video you normally don't see people talking about christian artists ESPECIALLY southern gospel artists i no preachers now a days that don't know who the gaither vocal band is -_-

  • amare questa canzone mi stupisce ascoltare Luciano Pavarotti e Placido Domingo

  • yeah!!! David Phelps version was also awesome

  • Bravo maestro Pavarotti!!!!

  • when you have a voice as this gentlemans, the day of birth and their older is not worth to mention

  • @IrjaHelena i should hope for such an acolade

  • @IrjaHelena

i love Pav one of my fav artists

but what does your comment mean lol

  • wow, spectacular singing, they were already old here! (Pavarotti 64, Domingo less than a month shy of 59)

nice Bb from the two of them at the end... great!

  • @OettingerCroat These great opera singers don't get old, just better.

  • @OettingerCroat My Freind what has age got to with anything especially music. Which when sung by such masters as these is ageless and age, as in this case, has enhanced to the sound and the beauty that they impart by sharing such gifts with us.

So enjoy and do so in silence please.

  • @OettingerCroat: excuse me, 59 is not old. :-)

  • @swmdal lol if you're talking to teenagers its old...but if you're 40, 50 or 60 that's not old

  • raimo. I agree. To much gimmicry here. They are trying to commercialize this like Mariah Carey would - although not such a travesty. Björling has the best version for me too. Obviously Lanza, Caruso, Presley or anyone with a great voice will do justice to this song too.

  • 0:00 - 2:04 = Plácido Domingo

    2:13 - 2:45 = Luciano Pavarotti

    2:58 - 3:32 = Both

    3:33 - 3:42 = Luciano Pavarotti

    3:45 - 3:49 = Both

  • Beautiful, thank you : )

  • I hate that this song ends. . . .

  • This song never ends.

  • this is the most beautiful rendition of this song i have ever heard . . . ! ! !

  • Than you havent heard Jussi Björlings!

  • lol i taste mince pudding listening to this

  • People forget how great a singer-songwriter Pavarotti really was.

  • This melody was cut from Heaven.

  • excelente

  • muy bien

  • Hypnotizing...

  • eccezionale!

  • Les deux plus "grandes voix" des temps modernes ! Adieu Pavarotti ! Dieu peut attendre le retour de Domingo.

  • these two guys should have done more together. Talent like this doesn't come around too often.

  • this is gorgeous...i forgot how amazing this sounded

  • I had forgotten what class sounded like. It is so hard to find in all the showmanship these days. I love that they poured themselves into the song to make it sound good, and did not use the song to make themselves look good.

  • This is THE original version! Love it!!!!

  • Brilliant!

  • Ii like it better in Latin. But this still sounds great and both are very similar.

  • Where did you find it in latin?

  • Are you talking about the original french verse at the start, or is there some other version.

  • I effing LOVE Domingo! He's my favorite baritone/tenor EVER!

  • Amazing song

  • Terrific..!!!!

  • One of a kind. One of the classics through out history...

  • Thanks & praise to Almighty God thru Jesus Christ for giving us this great and wonderful talent- only a hint of the beautiful things God has prepared for those who love Him.Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

  • Pavarotti 66 year

     cool.

  • hey look 1:53 luciano e eltn john

  • hahahaha :))))

  • Adios, Pavarotti...indeed. "To God," because that's from whence he came.

Thank you God, or Goddess, for giving us his voice.

We are so LUCKY to have mechanical means to revisit his performances so easily. Imagine how thrilled people would have been in the early 20th century to have what we have!

  • Luciano Pavarotti

    我懷念他的歌聲和親切笑容

  • Cantan Placido y Pavarotti, es magnífico.

  • yes, awesome!

  • AWSOME

  • nice

  • great....but noooo one can do it like jussi björling

  • Oh my God! This song brings me to tears every time! Truly amazing!

  • Très beau "Minuit Chrétien"

    Merci.

  • merveilleux

  • It's Jose Carreras Singing in the begining not placido domingo

  • you're wrong, of course it's Placido Domingo

  • Yeah, It's Placido Domingo, not Carreras my dear johnalexander.

  • Domingo in the first half; Pavarotti in the second. Harmony toward the end.

  • One of the MOST FANTASTINC interpretations of this song. Ave Voce Di Pavarotti!!! Bravo Domigno!!!

    Many thanks for posting this.

  • Just Glorious!!

  • It just doesn't get any better than this!

  • Right on, casinobowling! Anyone who disagrees with you is either a moron or a Philistine. Jussi is God in this song.

  • The greatest tenors I have ever heard apart from the greatest of them all Mario Lanza singing Billy Graham's favorite song and to sing this song you really need a great voice not a pop song voice.

    RIP Pav.

  • Oh how beautiful! And then at the end, when the photograph with Pav appeared saying "Adios Pavarotti", I'm afraid the tears began to fall from my eyes. How the world misses him! Dear Pav.
