What's the hype with RED camera? They seem to have a mystique aura about them. Does it have higher resolution than the standard 1080p? I know these questions are pretty rudimentary and can be answered from Wikipedia but I'm on Youtube and vis a vis it's much more succinct and expedient.
@supercooled It's 4 times the resolution of HD!! It shoots native 4k files, IMAX film is the only thing that is higher rez...for now until the RED EPIC comes :)
@BrennanKnows Its never about the equipment its always about the story, you dont need the best equipment to make a great movie. If you use that excuse of not having the best equipment then you will get nothing done! Just get out there and start making it. Use you initiative!
@EdwardMendoza Is the camera you are shooting on in the video rented or bought. I am thinking about renting one for a day for £350. Do you think that's a good deal?
@Shortfilmtests If you don't need to shoot for more than a week then yes, renting for that amount is optimal. We had to shoot an entire feature so it made more sense owning :)
@EdwardMendoza ahhh i cant wait for the scarlet, but i might wait it out and buy an epic-x, but either way, itll be nice. BTW, nice video series, i as thinking of renting a RED one cam just to figure it out!
@LTOWN1993 You can get prices from 1000 a day and up.

@Mstrat86 I mean that they are not anamorphic stretch, it's actually 4096×3072 pixels. Cool, huh?

The equipment is getting cheaper everyday, it's the story that's important. Stay focused and make it happen!
