Wow, thats a little abrupt ! may be because you are not very tall, and you cannot use much weight to help the tone. The piano could be tuned too it would certainly help ! looks like Marguerite Long playing (wrist high) ! thanks for the demo !
@Maralegar2009 - WRONG! These are ETUDES, "exercises" and are supposed to be fast. And there were "zero" mistakes! Don't h8. Jealous doesn't become you...
One question please: How do you play without missing the black keys? Every time I play Fantasie Impromptu, I keep missing the black keys, and it drives me insane. I even tried playing the etude Black Keys and the same thing happens. I either miss the black keys, or my fingers keep slipping off of them. They are too high, skinny, and slippery. Sounds like excuses, but it's true for me. If there weren't any high, skinny, slippery keys, I'd be a pro. lol
@lllllllllllllll88 Try flattening your fingers more instead of curving them in sections that allow it... easier to hit the black keys that way. Search: Dong Hyek Lim Fantasie Impromptu and watch how he does it. Unfortunately someone took down the high quality version, but you can still see his hands.
this exhibits the technical results of having been raised and trained in Yakutsk and St. Petersburg, Russia. The strict Russian piano technique emphasizes many unique things, a couple of them can be seen here.
Brilliant...absolutely and wonderfully brilliant! Can you demonstrate a piece for me? It is Scriabin's Opus 8 no. 12 in D# minor? Can you do so very slowly? I would appreciate your taking the time to do so. If you like , if you can make me a tutorial for how to pay this piece I will gladly pay you. Write me Dantwane@aol.com .
Thank you, yes I have practiced a lot. It is my passion. I was born in America, but raised in Russian (Yakutsk, St. Petersburg), and trained there from age 4. I began university study at age 15. I have A LOT of room to continue to improve. :)
I first like to memorize the piece, best to do in as short a time as possible such as a couple hours, or a couple days if it is a really long piece. Then I master the technical aspects, then polish up the expressiveness...that is the longest part.
@ixd735 ye i agree, i don't undersatnd where exactly the russian technique comes in though i studied Leshetizky method and it was no good for my hand due to the various contorted exercises, i felt a more natural approach is better, and this video shows a more relaxed hand technique
