This, and the song Monster by Meg and Dia, inspired me for a story theme. Basically, there's a courtyard surrounded by pretty trees. In the center is this massive throne and a giant sitting in it. There are little white flames everywhere. Those flames are the spirits of people who died and were loved by no one, and the giant is the one who will love them no matter what. Hooray for depressing story lines! And has anyone noticed that most fictional goth girls' names start with E?

@BurninValyProdctions She's just a little girl. She's probably not thinking in the most rational mindset. Besides, parents tend to pay more attention to their new baby children than their older child, because babies take a lot of care. Only children tend to get more attention from their parents, and since Emmeline was barely getting attention as it was, I don't think Emmeline's reaction was that far off from reality. She was pretty neglected. Besides, without her meltdown there'd be no story. :)

Most kids, especially at the age that she appears to be, are absolutely distraught when they hear that a new baby is along the way, because they believe that they'll be neglected by their parents, or they believe that they'll, as you said, replaced by the new kid.

And she was already well neglected, so it's only obvious that she had a complete melt down.
