You can actually have ghosts in your army on the non-expansion as well. All you need is the Map Editor.

I remember winning Unholy Alliance with just 1 ghost. That's how powerful they are.

But they are still overpowered. :(

I remember playing XL maps with thousands of ghosts. Accepting fights vs zounds of peasants and other low tier units just to swarm up =)

in the original, even with expert diplomacy and them outnumbered 1000 to 1, you could never get ghosts to join you. However, in the expansion they added the barrow mounds, which allowed you to recruit ghosts

yeah, those ghosts can be a real pain.

good thing there's been a modding breakthrough. we can mod stats and stuff so we can make ghosts weaker.

I'm pretty sure you could always recruit ghosts if you out numbered them enough even on the original. I'm pretty sure I did it once.

The thing is they can beat armies many times bigger then themselves, especially if you have lower level big stacks (100 peasants suddenly = 100 ghosts, oops). I'm pretty sure if the odds are in the right place (ie they arnt so scared that they run away) they will join you.....rare, but SO worth it

There is also one Zomg about ghosts. Heroes 2 where writen in C++ in such system of numbering creatures, that allows to have only (circa-about) 31620 (or sth like that).Many years ago, when i was playing heroes - one time number of my ghosts have reached 32000, abnd then i had a -30000+E (closely) xD Try this ! It works! Stupid C++ :P

Suddenly I just had -1 skeletons and they did 0 damage when i hitted. xD

Oh yea, They should incrasing ammount of enemy's life like a medics or sth. By the way. Medic would be nice unit for heroes ^_^

well, that is a pretty nice technik, but two things:

At first where did u get ghosts in you army? o.O

And second:

It's not a feature from the expansion.

In the normal game they get more too if they kill someone

ghost was the best unded unit in 2. They should adopt it as the 5th level creature on necromancer's castle. Bone dragons sucks!

You would be invincible if you got ghosts in your army, the technique for this is you must recruit them in the barrow mounds and find lots of weak monsters like peasants.You will notice that the number of ghosts you had will increase. I won the game using this technique. By the way, bloodlust makes a pretty funny farting sound :D

very hard to tell that ghosts were stealing life. at least with the vampire lords in HHM3 there was some kind of effect and a description of how many came back. did vampire lords steal life in this heroes game as well?

You can also get ghosts and elementals in the map editor, but they are only good to have little fun, because they make the game one-sided.

@HansCent thats why i love diplomacy skill, if u dont play price of loyalty and in u dont have burrowed mounds in your map, u can buy ghosts with diplomacy skill, it will very expensive but they can deserve this.
