  • Love saoirse !!

  • This film is as perfect as a film can be but surely the highlight and the icing on the cake must be the breathtaking performance of Vanessa Redgrave at the end. I was disappointed that her role wasnt expanded so we could have seen more of her. Nobody but nobody could have played that part as well as Vanessa did. Full marks for the casting director for selecting her.

  • the whole plot is like nursery cryme by genesis

  • Three of the greatest young actors of the moment, Saoirse, Keira and James.

  • I love that he says his favorite scene is the one when they meet after he got out of jail. It's my fav as well. I heard Joe said James couldn't stop crying while shooting this scene. How adorable and sensitive this guy is!

  • James is just incredible. I've watched several of his movies now. This man is one of those rare people who can take a character places other actors just can't hope to go. I think that is what makes him so sensitive. He can feel deeply for each role the way a lot of people can't. I adore Atonement it is such a brilliant film on so many levels.

  • James' face is simply angelic at 2:08.

  • Heartbreaking story, true love's separated by a lie, a story. Its horrible... like james says "may she burn in hell" (about briony)

the actors and the scenes made the movie so believable and emotional, cried so much.

  • i watch t movies last nite it's gr8 so romance & sad just like a old british b&w movies brief encounter springs 2 mind best film of all time!!!! was in tears at t end but was well worth it James McAvoy is brillant & very sexy oh t bookcase part wudn't mine bein Keiralol gr8 leads!!!

  • Wow Keira looks absolutely gorgeous in that interview. She needs to stick with that hairstyle, it's stunning for her face shape.

  • the film is amazing. its so sad and scary to think that ONE mistake u make when you're a child can have SUCH an impact.

  • I know I should despise Briony but I feel pity for her instead. She destroyed several lives, including her own, but I just find it tragic and extremely saddening.

  • I think that's the whole point. She didn't know that what she did was wrong until later and she had to live with the guilt of what she did. Strong emotions. Great movie!

  • this movie made me cry

  • I don't see why people are always going on about how bad Keira Knightley is! Just because she never had any professional training! I reckon people are just jealous of the oppertunities she's had!

  • Oo i cant wait to see this movie! It comes out next month in theatres. it looks like an amazing movie, and Keira Knightley is my rolemodel.

  • this movie is sooo good! I saw it the other day, and it's one of the best movies I have ever seen.

  • Yeah i can't wait till this movie comes on on dvd because i wanna make videos of it! But i'm gonna see the movie at the cinemas this Tuesday. I am reading the book and it's fantastic!!

  • i cant wait till it comes out on dvd because thats the only way i can see this really good movie i cant wait ill go all over the world just to see it

  • Why isn't this movie showing in my theaters!!!

  • i'm really impressed at how intelligent and articulate keira is in this interview.. indeed she might be everywhere i just always presumed she was rather airheaded like other actresses her age

  • Because that never happens.

  • Nowhere near as often as the media and men would have us believe. Only 4% of rape cases gain a prosecution. The estimates are that only another 4% are false accusations. That leaves 82% unaccounted for, juries acquiting because of this propaganda.

  • 92% rather.

  • she does make up the rape-she accuses the wrong person

  • I never thought of that way, interesting view. But it wasn't just one (man's) life that was ruined, it was all those who were involved. And the story isn't centred around the idea of rape, but uses rape as the critical situation where Briony misintreprets the situation. Briony never lied, she genuinely believed what she saw.

  • we know she didnt believe what she saw because she had a flash back during lolas wedding where she saw the man who actually raped lola clear as day. she just wanted robbie to pay for not returning her crush and lusting after cecilia instead of her. basically, i hate briony and you might not hate her, but you cant say she believed robbie raped lola because we know she clearly saw the other man who lola ends up marrying.

  • i agree with you completely I read the book and that is exactly how it happened :) she also wanted Robbie to pay because she toughgt that he had hurt her sister after reading the letter , the fountain scene and the library scene she had witnessed. She was sure the firt time that she was doing a false accusations. I can't believe i am saying this about a fictional characther but i simply hate Briony sry but i can't understand how one would pity her she knew and understood everything that bitch :P

  • totally agree

  • Vanessa Redgrave, what a god.
