@DrUnnameds yep, that is why we stagger the additions. The bacon is cooked first by itself until crips and then the next ingredients are added and the last things don't need more than a few minutes (chili and cheese just need to warm up ya know?)
Sweet baby Jeebus!! I got cheast pains and heartburn just watching you make yours! I am still going to make some! Christmas this looks freakin good! Thanks for posting! Cheers!
Who cares if it's not Canadian? This shit looks tasty anyways. :U and this is coming from a gold star Canadian, I've never even left Canada. Don't be so sensitive, idiots. Just 'cause it ain't YOUR way of doin' somethin' doesn't make it wrong.
@ringo999999 YEAH! Plus, it's food. Yes, you can go wrong with food, but that all depends on one's taste. Like, I don't like Pringles, but doesn't mean I'm gonna go dissing Pringles all over the place. People seem to like it, so whatever.
However, I think Poutine just has so much potential to be totally creative and awesome no matter what you do. As long as it has cheese and gravy and taters it's bound to be fucking delicious.
Im from Québec where poutine was first created...And if u made this wierd ass looking fucked up gravy here witch dosent look bad but in québec They would have not ate it...first of all used orange cheese wich tastes fucked up and u used carot sweet potatoes...come in Québec if u want a REAL poutine made with big sausage pieces fried onions lots of white cheddar curds in some crispy ass fresh french fries with think canadian homade gravy recepie ud shat a brick mate... ;)
@halometroid everyone from Canada wants to post about how this isn't real poutine and blah blah blah. The fact of the matter is I wasn't trying to make the same stuff that you guys have, I was taking that as inspiration for my own dish. If I wanted the exact recipe I would have made it that way, I mean everyone knows Wisconsin has better cheese anyhow...mate
@ringo999999 Ignore him. People in Quebec take their Poutine very seriously. I wish I was joking lol. Most of the French I have met are ASSHOLES. :) I am from Nova Scotia and I think your Poutine looks awesome!
@ringo999999@halometroid Go wisconsincheese fuck a donkey....and respect someone who's schooling you on what you're copying I'll sprewwtzz a nice load of cheese on your child......RESPECT THE POUTINE
@234543B4 which is what I was going for anyways. I really don't know why people are so hung up on it not being exactly poutine, if it was then its nothing new or special.
Our Lord JESUS CHRIST is the light of the world. Whoever follows Him will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Follow Jesus and you will be saved !

@777madmitch you'll have to keep checking but I would say at about 400 and for as long as it takes, most of the stuff you are adding is pre-cooked except the bacon, so cook the bacon by itself first and then add all the bread type stuff, cook til crispy, like 10-20 minutes, stirring every once in a while, then add the chili and cheese and cook until melted
LOL THATS NOT HOW YOU MAKE POUTINE... YOU PUT COOKED FRIES IN A BOWL PUT SQUEAKY CHEESE AND PUT HOT GRAVY TO MELT THE CHEESE... (THIS ADVICE WAS GIVEN BY A PURE QUEBEC MAN)
@heroiclegendxxx thanks, in the end it probably isn't poutine at all, so I guess its more like a tasty dish that was inspired by poutine and epic meal time. And yes I recommend trying this, quite tasty.
@heroiclegendxxx squeaky cheese? really i doubt you should be commenting if you dont even know that they are called cheese curds, and technically it isnt made with gravy, its a Velouté sauce slightly modified with a slight taste of onion and pepper. and you say 'cooked fries' like you just put some random ass fries that are just edible, fries for poutine have to be about a medium thickness and fried just right so the inside remains soft, but the outside also remains relatively crispy
@bonehead0816 first of all i call it squeaky cheese beacause thats how i like to call it and i said gravy cauz i know that most of the viewers are american and i didnt think that there would be ppl like you who really know what poutine is.. and i say cooked fries cuz they aint raw i know how to make a poutine i live in the district of montreal and my main lanquage is quebec french... i am 100% quebec... and btw please dont get all worked up over food... :) thanks for your time reading my comms:D
@heroiclegendxxx i didnt mean to sound worked up about it, atleast you actually know cheese curds can be squeaky, but only when they are fresh :) i mainly posted that for all the americans here lol
@heroiclegendxxx haha yeah, one thing i hate about this video though is the cheese, if i dont have any cheese curds around( i have to drive 2 hours to get fresh ones) i for sure woudlnt use this cheese in this video lol
@Roshamba28 you are not a french canadien so you have no right to call that a poutine if that was made in quebec canada it wouldve been called a poutine but since its made in the us its just called a gravy fries and cheese salad :)
Looks good, but I have to say, you can't call it poutine unless you have cheese curds. You can change the sauce, you can add different concoctions, but if there's no cheese curds (not even shredded cheese is allowed), it's not poutine. Tasty looking all the same, though. :)
@DadouCenter out of all places to get cheese, apparently my state, Wisconsin, and Quebec are the 2 that are known for their cheese. So I used Wisconsin cheese, no need to go get the 2nd best cheese in the world when we have the best ;)
@Roshamba28 we wanted an epic meal time that actually was a tasty meal. I love those videos but they don't really always look tasty, although I realize that's kinda the idea.
@ddafdd not super long because most of the stuff is already pre-cooked. I'd start with 10 minutes at 420 degrees and check on it every few minutes after that. The chili and gravy and cheese is added and thrown in for another 5-10 minutes or until it looks like it did in the video where the cheese is all melted. Hope this helps.
@exquisitemoments not the way Canadians do it, you are correct. This is how we do it in America, which means gravy and more tasty deep fried treats. In America, we are men and eat like it.
does everything get cooked properly when doing this in the oven??? :O
