@91Roadwarrior Thank you very much. Unfortunately though my sword didn't make into the final cut ... The film is very impressive however, and you really need to watch it.
Meanwhile, guess who has real swords around the house, none sharp, for theatrical skits and pictures for a book I am working on? The skill you put into making your swords, I am sure, has taken years of learning. And, having been an advanced trauma paramedic for over 31 years, I can imagine how your sword)s?) can rend one part of the body from the other. Again, I am impressed with your sword(s?) and hope to see more of your masterful workmanship, even wizardry, in the future.
@RayGrinberg : Of course it is and was a sword film! I am just saying: "How quaint. However, I would choose my .45 ACP pistol over a sword any day!" If I were wisked into a fantasy gone real, I would prefer a bow, a spear and an ax. Meanwhile, several of my kids and I watched the films and greatly enjoyed them, filling in some of the "Unfinished Tails" for others that may want to know more about Tolkien.
@oldfirelt : Yeah ... I was just teasing you. When I'm at sword training and our instructor asks how we might counter a particular strike, I like to do a pretend draw and shoot ... You can't beat a good ranged weapon in my opinion.
WOW what a great sword. It looks as good as Anduril in the "real" film.
And I can't wait to see the whole film. The story of Arathorn, GIlraen and Aragorn would be great.
Someone should make a film about Beren and Luthien, Narn i chin Hurin, Gondolin and other stories from Silmarillion without changing a book, like PJ did (argh, elves at helm's deep...)
Thanks so much for the praise. I know that this project is not like every other fan project, which is why I originally got involved, and I too am looking forward to seeing the finished product.
I'm thrilled you like my work, and I'm excited for the final product as well, but the funny thing is that you are so much closer to where it's being filmed than I am.
What a beautiful sword. Where and indeed how long did it take you to learn the skills necessary to forge such a fine weapon? I'm looking forward to seeing it in action in Born of Hope and to seeing other examples of your work. I can't finish without adding my congratulations to you and the whole crew for the dedication and committment in making Born of Hope. Can't wait to see it.
Hey there. Thanks so much for the awesome comment(s).
I have been making swords/knives for over 15 years now, and I still have a lot to learn, so I don't consider myself up there with my knife making heroes yet, but I'm thrilled and delighted that you like my work.
I am also very much looking forward to Born of Hope being completed, which I believe it will be this year ... so stay tuned on the BoH website for info on the final release date.
Thank you very much. I'm thrilled you like my work and want to see more. I am planning on doing some more vids with other swords I have made, so stay tuned.
BoH is due for completion October/November this year, so stay tuned for that one as well. I think I will probably be putting this sword up for sale after the film is finished as well, and I'll probably post a vid here on YouTube for that too.
I saw one of your latest comments on the Born of Hope project. I must admit you bagged it out pretty badly. It's a shame you feel like that because there is a massive amount of passion, love and commitment from people all over the world (like myself) who are giving up their time and talents to make this film a success. Kate Robinson is making something wonderful. I wish you could see that.
I think you have me confused with someone else. I think BOH is great, and I've been defending it and promoting it! You must have mistaken unflattering comments above or below mine as being from me. I assure you--I wish them well, and can't wait to see the finished product.
I believe I figured it out. I quoted someone else's disparaging comments, then answered back. You must have thought the nasty comments were what I was saying. They were not--they belonged to a previous poster.
wow!!!! that's sweet! I love the movie, Kate did an amazing job

Impressive. But, I will still stick with my .45 ACP pistol.

*LOL* ... indeed ... but this isn't a shoot em up film!

@RayGrinberg : And you discount Wizards?
oldfirelt 1 year ago
@oldfirelt Not At All ... I love wizards!!!! especially when they have a pet dragon :D
RayGrinberg 1 year ago
*LOL* ... Indeed ... but this one was made for a sword film not a gun fighter film !!!

I fell in love with this sword! It was really interesting to watch how a sword can cut a bottle! I'd really like to see more of your work =)

Hey, this is unbelievable ! I really didn't think you could cut a bottle just like that ! This sword is really really beautiful.
I'd love to see a picture of all theweapons made for the movie. On the website you can only see two or three of them...
Good luck with the post-prod, I'm can't wait to watch it.. I've been following your "adventure" for so long now...

I will hang my head and accept my stripes. I'm sorry, but so very glad you didn't write those things. I guess I'm glad to be wrong.
Thanks for letting me know it wasn't you without abusing me.

You are welcome. I'm glad we cleared up the misunderstanding!

Once again please accept my appologies.

HAHAHAHA "No water was harmed during filming." I loved that! Wonderful. Thank you for sharing that with us.

*LOL* ... I'm sorry ... I couldn't resist it ... after all (getting serious) I wouldn't want the greenies to get upset about it ...
I intend to do some more test cutting wth some of my other swords too.

Great sword design. It has a place in the PJ's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Glad you like the cutting. Next time I'll try to get it without all the traffic noise in the background ...

Hard to avoid traffic anywhere these days!

Especially when you live on a main road. I have traffic going past my place 24/7 ...

Hopefully there will be no air-borne swords flying towards traffic too!
