  • you guys are really cute and i think your wisconsin accents are cute. And im southern.

  • @dgm0109 They do in Northern Florida.

  • Y'all know u ain't talkin southern

  • You both have what people in the South call a "Mid Western Accent". Im from Florida and I can tell you like most parts of the South only certain area's of Florida have people that sound like they're Southern. Accents vary even County to County. Here in NC the people in my county sound Southern, but when you go further west in NC people sound Cajun.

  • Southeners not hate Yankees!!!!!! Well atleast not where I live

  • Wow, Florida is one of the farthest south states in the US.

  • @OysterCatz wow! really i had no clue, since when did they move it there?!!?

  • Wow I live in wisconsin too. I don't like wisconsin much and I wanna move to the south.

  • LOL you dont want to talk like a Southerner Midwest accents are cool. But since you are considered yankees from southerners trust me you dont want to move to the south majority of southerners hate yankees even though I am not one since my parents are from Europe but I dont have southern accent even though I was born in the south. My accent is deep like Shia people would think he is a northerner but hes not hes from west coast and parents Middle E. West is the best place to be or your home town.

  • LOL you dont want to talk like a Southerner Midwest accents are cool

  • u sound like u r from kentuckey

  • @Mr86753o9 you sound like you don't know how to spell...

  • only in north florida you will hear a southern accent. daytona is in the north so you will here some southern but not that much. i live in ft lauderdale i cant remember the last time i heard a "southerner" talk

  • I just submitted a video to the Worldwide Accent Project.. it's on my channel. (I'm from St. Petersburg, FL)

  • omg you live in wisconson, i do to.

  • for yall who sayd they dont say yall in florida are all stupid.. my bf is from florida and he says yall.. its just where in florida you are at the time and everyone is different dont try to change how you talk just listen to how others talk and youll pick it up trust me

  • the best thing i can say about this is just relax your words and also while your in florida you will i garentee you will pick up their accent in a matter of weeks of beeing there just listen closely to how they talk and you too will soon be talking like em.. thats what happened to me when i went down to arkansas for 6 month i came back to california talkin like em lol people didnt believe me when i told em i was born and raised in california when i had that arkansas accent..

  • U 2 r cute and your accents r fine just the way they are lol i guess i have an accent fetish probably cuz i dont have 1 :(..@ least i dont think i do

  • go to louisiana and try talkin like a coonass neg

  • You're southern accent sucks!Leave it to us real southerners!

  • we may sounds different but we dont sound like fucking hicks... its not even the accent thats that different either its words we use... like i went to new hampshire and everyone said wicked and sick,, lmao. & they just have different words for different things. like most people where im from call cigarettes "joes" or one cig. a "joe" nobody knew wtf i was talking about when i went up there... best thing for you to do it tell people you moved from the north and get used to it.. nobody cares haha

  • I do one better. Stay in the North and you won't have to come down here any year. There are too many people down here already. Good job opening yourself to cultural ridicule, though. *thumbs up* Too many Northerners here already who think they are better than us whether they mean to act that way or not. I am a well educated southerner and you bet I'll be defending the niceties of my culture from dumb perversions by charmed or arrogant outsiders.

  • @scienceofthings hmm discrimination from a southerner.... never thought id see the day. and if you took the time to watch the entire video neither of us called you uneducated. I'm glad you automatically assume we act like every other southerners, we are trying to learn, not ridicule. America is a free country and i will go where ever i damn well please. We welcome southerners up here with open arms and no special or worse treatment. You sound like a horribly angry person. such a shame....

  • @TheBestFwends ...& if you read my comment, I never said you called me uneducated. Also, nice jab with the southerner-discrimination bit, that isn't condescending at all. You are proving my point in your response if anything. You two are southerners? Confused seems more like it. No learning required: speak how you speak & we'll do the same. I am aware of what America is, thanks. You know the saying "It's nice to visit, but I don't want to live there"? Northerners visit & stay in large amounts.

  • @TheBestFwends Also, I am friends with many northerners. I discriminate on who I am friends based on content of character. Nothing more factors in on it. I also see more people from out west & up north migrating to the south to find various freedoms. Then I notice that their pursuit of more freedom lessens my freedoms. More people in an area, the less freedom you have. My thoughts, not feelings, on this matter are well thought out and multi-layered. I speak from experience & education.

  • We use y'all in flordia! && we can usually tell when people are faking! Y'all make southerners sound stupid !

  • im from virginia and when i went to florida one time, they said i had a southern accent, and i do hahaha...but from what i know, they dont really have accents. theyre just neutral i guess :) so dont worry about the accent :D you are who you are. i wish yall luck.

  • Oh and you sound so fake

Yall is NOT used in flordia

  • @allyroxalot I am from florida and it IS used here.

  • hahah im from florida

    WOW what is BUBBLER?!?

    you yeah talk... funny

  • @allyroxalot I only know this cause I vay cayed with some people from Wisconsin. But a bubbler apparently is like a drinking fountain...weird...but yeah they talk so weird, if I was just minding my own buissness I would be weirded out by their accents.

  • Yall have funny yankee accents! You guys I make fun of my brother for that all the time. The one on right sounds slightly new jersey-ian. If you are just going to daytona or on the coast you don't cause everyone is from the north (or mexico/cuba)! Go to central and north florida there's where your southern accents are. I lived in central flordia my whole life, hope yall have fun :)

  • y'all aint got no accent . come down here to west virginia and hear our accents . gosh people bein fake tryin' to be country gets on my daggon nerves .

    y'all are FAKE !

if ya ain't country don't act like it .

  • @ilovechris11910 That's funny, cuz I come from a family that, fishes, hunts, farms, owns livestock, etc. So just because I am from the south I am not country? Sure makes sense to me.

  • y'all aint got no accent . come down here to west virginia and hear our accents . gosh people bein fake tryin' to be country gets on my daggon nerves .

  • k, i ain't tryin to be mean, but yeh ya'lls accents sound fake. i live in alabama, but most people in FL ain't got a real deep southern accent. i mean i'm sure some folks down there got one but not alot. one thing i will tell y'all if u go shopping, a shopping cart is called a BUGGY. lol EVERYONE down here calls it that.

  • People in Australia say "bubbler" too.

  • Here are some tips: Just let the modern English accent drop. Instead of saying you all, say y'all. And instead of saying nail, say nay-yell. Just let the accent smoothly flow like a river. It's a beautiful accent.

  • Bahahahaha that sucked

  • Well for one stop trying. . . If you live in the south along enough youll start to get a accent a little bit.. . .Because yall sound shitty. .. . . You can't really get help juss be around southern people and you guys will pick it up(:

    (see i use your northern thing yall do) (;

  • I'm from Pa and i don't think that people from Florida say ya'll and they don't sound much different from me. You guys (yes i say that too) only sound a little different from me just like a few words you pronounce a little different, But in any case you should be proud of where you came from it, just because you're going to school in florida doesn't mean you need to learn how to talk like they do. But good luck :)

  • you look like a couple sluts

  • @crazyhorse1369 hahah yup im a huge slut, cuz im wearing like a hoodie so we all know sluts wear hoodies and what not. prude. haha

  • @TheBestFwends No , you are both wearing slutty tops , oh wait thats the norm now days .

  • welp shoooooot faarr ladees...yalls ya haves to do is put a big ole lump ah tabacker in dem pretty lil moufs of yalls...tat and speak like a cumplete dumshit.. ha that might help

  • @CFLWjgjc lmao!!! good one(:

  • @Cakeypie13 welp shoooot far its tru, hell, ive beens speakin southdern four way 2 loongg

  • @CFLWjgjc oh i just thought you were doing that as a joke to screw with them. . . . I from the south to(:

  • y'all have northern accents:) haha. they do sound fake.

    common words- y'all, long i's...

    yeah.

It would be pretty difficult to cover up that northernish accent. haha.

sorry. im from the south. haha. tennessee.

    y'all say your a's wierd.

  • People say i have an accent but it's because i'm from Tennessee

  • this is probably late but if you ever go down there again i lived in the country in Jacksonville (near Georgia) and they do say kin there but real redneck people i dont thinkyoure going to not sound like your from the north i lived there since i was 6 till now like 9 years i picked up on it and have a southern accent now.. as well as my mom who had a new york accent dont worry about it tho, i have family up north that sounds like yall and most people will think its amazing to hear yalls accent

  • my dick, your girls mouths. how about it?

  • @blakeman1414 Lmfaoo. But Seriously? Stfu.

  • I'm from St. Petersburg, FL & I've lived here all my life. I don't think I have much of an accent, but when I go to another state, people say I do.

    Some things my family says:

-Fixins'- "Git the salad fixins' ready"

-Y'all- "Y'all don* come back." *Don't with out the T

I leave off alot of my T's and and sometime pronounce my O's as AH's

Ex. "I don really wan ta go there."

note: lay off with the 'howdy doo' kind of accent. I've never heard a Floridian with that kinda accent

  • damnn lol if you come to south florida youll will hear a lot of accents since theres cubans and a lot of spanish ppl so u dont really have to worry about it. most ppl dnt care bout the accent newys!!

  • where are yall from? for some strange reason people from Florida dont have the accent that you here in Al,Tn,Georgia, etc. im from north alabama and have a strong southern draw. yeah, wisconsin sounds funny when yall say it.u will probably need to just be in the south and observe. if u have any questions bout the south, just holler at me. BTW- try using "I REKON" or IM FITNA" in a sentence. i rekon im fitna go down yunder and get me a coke. yunder is pronounced "yunner". now lets c it in a video

  • first of all, yall just dawged the real south by calling Florida part of the south. Florida ain't nothing but retired Yankees and Cubans. so don't waste yalls time trying to talk southern. just keep ur current accent and add just a tiny latin wing to it....... you'll fit right in

  • ..do not try to talk southern girls....be who you are...its kinda cute to a southern guy.........they will know your accent is fake straight off the bat....

  • Just embrace your accent people say I have a funny accent all the time, but it makes me different and unique from everyone else

  • Trust me, you dont needa hide it me raised and born in the west, i kinda used ya'll alot in my life u only really notice "Ya'll" in DEEP south now im living in louisiana they use it strongly here, i dont think florida you need to really, a southern accent you shouldnt really care..lol, so its not that big of an issue, yall just needa relaxe..lol it will eventually come to you naturally Iv been living in Louisiana for...A year and a half...so it comes to me pretty naturally lol.

  • @TheAwsome24 haha we arent moving anymore any ways but thanks lol we just wish we hand awesome southern accents!

  • Whenever y'all say "Accent," it sounds like "Exint." Try to avoid saying "You guys" and a bit of twang would help alot too. What sort of accent are y'all goin for? Like what state?

  • Im moving to atlánta son pretty good accent u can pass with having a southern accent

  • @cody1800212 aw thanks this really helped a lot. the whole moving to fl went down the drain a while ago but hopefully some day i can still move down south!

  • I'm a Floridian and trust me i have some friends who was from north, but she live. You'll pick up on it.

  • Well not all of Floridian people sound the same. A lot of the people said I talked funny when I moved there from South Carolina. A lot of people in Florida sound like Northerners to me because a lot of the people that live there retired there and continued raising their families there. Y'all is a HUGE southern saying and they didn't understand me in Tampa. As soon as I get a hold of a video camera I will deff post a video response, you're accents are strange at some parts. You'll get it

  • @dibathory why thank you dear

  • haha. yall are so funny, i think we use words like normal but you should say some words yall say normally and people will tell yall how to make it sound more southern.

  • @lovveaero haha thank you. and thanks for not getting offended by this.

  • im suree.

  • Y'all have thick northern accents. I say just talk how you talk and let people remind you how cute they think it is. Don't try to be something you're not! :)

  • @RedRaider1913 aw thank you

  • typing lessons?

im not the one who put "pry" in their comeback comment.

and when did i claim to know either one of you?

  • @keekeekaulitz oh yeah, you must have forgotten. i am from the north and we say "pry" up here.

  • @TheBestFwends im sureee...

  • @TheBestFwends: I know this ain't my conversation but I didn't know Northerners said "pry" in that sense. I "learnt" something new.

And if I were you, I'd stick with your own accents. Floridians don't sound that Southern anyways. They have a wee bit of a Midwestern sound so you'd probably fit in better there than say, Alabama or Mississippi. Decent attempt, though. I'd say the one on the left did better than the one on the right. I'm an Alabamian, so I know Southern accents pretty well. : )

  • i dont know who you are;

you put a public video of yourself on a public website...?

i know more about you..than you know me..?

    mhm..

  • @keekeekaulitz oh sorry last time i checked there are two people in the video, and pretty sure you don't know if i am either of them. you should pry take some typing lessons as well. mhm

  • @TheBestFwends ohh good one; considering you have no idea who i am. (:

  • @keekeekaulitz yeah good one too, ya know, considering you have no idea who i am either.

  • i plan on marrying a girl from the midwest with a sweet midwestern accent =) but if youve moved here already you probaly noticed we dont have that redneck southern accent aha we just change a few words here and there like "to" would be pronounced "tuh" and "for" would be "fer"

  • your southern accents make you sound extremly stupid.

  • @keekeekaulitz you in any accent sounds extremely stupid

  • If you come down South, you will be better off if you just keep your accent rather than trying to do a southern accent. We are not that snobby or unwelcoming. But one thing you can do is not pronounce Florida like " Flori-da" but rather like "Floorda" :) Nothing wrong with your accents, just try to appreciate the South when you come here and you will be fine.

  • @jaegerhund thank you sweetheart!

  • @jaegerhund I'm from FL, but I never pronounce the I in FlorIda. I say "Floor duh" haha

  • @lindsaaylouwho I think southerners in general pronounce it your way --- the 'i' just disappears for some reason :)

  • snowangeInc(sp?) is right. Instead of going it's goin' or taking it's taken. I'm from Alabama and I'm right outside Florida. Some phrases that you might want to know are:Britches(pants) I don't know if that's spelled right. A shopping cart is called a buggy. You don't press something you mash it. The blankets on a bed are called covers. I guess that's the basics =). I know you guys will get it down

  • @WerewolflovesKelly thanks love :]

  • After you're comfortable with the "ing" words, try pronouncing words with "en" as if they were spelled "in." In other words, pen and pin are homophones here. Same with ten and tin. Hen would sound like hin...pencil - pincil...golden - goldin...energy - inergy. Don't worry about drawling out the vowels yet, just pronounce them like you normally would if the words really were spelled with an i.

  • rofl u said idk why i sound liek a man when i talk liek this lol yal shouldnt change ur accents no point people love hearing other accents that thier not use to.

  • you know very few people actually have an accent that thick but even if you were born in the south you might not even have an accent at all i have a VERY TINY accent and im form georgia but it is true we all use southern slang here in the south also when you say your going to do something say fixing ex. "im fixing to go to the store"~♡Denali567

  • hahahah aww

one is that the southern accent tends to use "aw" in place of "o" like "shoppers" i sawy "shawppers" haha

oh and "oh my god" is "oh my gawd" haha so thats another..

but mainly just they As as in "AAAcent" is what i here when i listen to a northern accent. thats what will give you away lol

  • I would never want a northern accent!! I love my southern accent and the south! When my family went up north for 1 week for dads job...everybody was like goodness you do have a southern accent you must be from the south? and course i said yes! :D

  • hah, you say have, last, &wisconsin very weird(: ... i guess i think that bc im from the south? but i love northern accents(: i really wish i was from the north? ahaah.

  • thats really funny. i never would have expected someone to want a northern accent. i guess because im used to talking the way i talk and dont see it how others may. lol

  • @TheBestFwends hahah? i love the way yall say "have" ? maybe im juss weird?(:

  • people in florida have all types of accents because of all the different ethnic backgrounds there. youd fit in perfectly the way you are now : ]

  • i dont think you should change your accent at all. its what makes you dfferent form everyone around you.

  • Florida does not have a southern accent my friend is from Alabama and when she went to Florida she said they don't have a southern accent. Which they don't she heard fake ones you can pretty much notice the fake ones if you have a southern accent.. And yes we can tell your accents aren't natural.

  • Why should anyone help you? Your northern yuppies will just joke around with our accent and just spread more ignorance about the south by you pretending and joking around with it.

  • I'm pretty sure you're being a hypocrite by calling me a yuppie just because you THINK I'm going to make fun of you. If you watch the whole video we go on to say that we want to pick up a southern accent so we fit in better in the south when we move down there, because we like the south, not because we want to make fun of you.I'm a very open minded individual and know that people from the south are no different than those of us in the north or, in that matter, from anywhere else.Have a nice day.

  • Look, the fact that you're trying is ok I guess but it will be very obvious that you're not from the south and are just pretending to sound southern until you pick up on the lingo and dialect. I can tell you that it will certainly come off as an insult for them to hear you butchering our speech when you should just talk like you would normally talk. If you're planning to stay for a while then you'll pick up on it eventually so there's no reason to practice. We're not zoo animals.

  • What I'm trying to say is that whenever someone is always thinking about how they speak the always over-exagerate their speach, making them sound retarded. You're not learning a new language, we can understand you and you can understand us. Pick up on the dialect little by little so you don't sound/act (uncontieously) like an ass. You'll come off as arrogant.

  • got it. thanks for the .. um, strong advice. lol

  • y'all have such stereotypical southern accents. Yeah It's what people imagine southerners to sound like, but in reality you sound ridiculous lol. No matter what you do, it isn't gonna make you seem southern. if I heard you come down talkin' like that, I'd prolly think you were mocking me, so cut it out.

But I would suggest you don't refer to anything as a bubbler lol.

  • lol thank you for your help. I think we will just stick with our natural accents. After all its a good conversation starter. :]

  • Well sometimes if i get carried away i'll say howdee. but my mom doesn't like it. haha well I'm from Tennessee and I really have a southern accent. I was down in Alabama and even the people down there would look at me like i was from out in the sticks which I kinda am. but I say ether you have a accent or not and if it's not your true accent then don't talk like it is. but I've live in the country all my life and I lived in the city for about 2 months and near bout drove me crazy.....

  • wow yall dont really need to worry about it florida aint that much of a southern state unless ur out in the sticks, if your really concerned about it, just start changing simple saying like "aren't you gonna go with me" to aint ya gonna come? But its really easy to tell if someones from up north, dont say pop say soda, dont say going to sayfixin too, um.... dont say pants say britches, dont say pinch say peench thats just some simple one if you need more just message me, hope yall figure it out

  • Well, Im from NC & southern accents come naturally. Not having a real southern accent, its hard to have one that doesnt sound fake. Most people in the south dont exagerate vowels, but some words we do. Its subtle instead of just like BAM! Yall need practice, but I hope this helps some.

  • It does help, thank you so much!

  • Yeah, it's hard to explain on writing, but yeah,I'm from the south and they do sound really fake, but it's okay, when american's go to England and try to 'fake' british accents, the British always know who's faking it. It's the same with the different accents around America. Just watch movies with southern accents and practice.

  • not everyone has a southern accent in Florida unless your in the boonies lol

  • I live in South Carolina and I have a really big Southern accent...it's not that hard to do...I say y'all all the time

  • I live in Florida, and I never hear any southern people, I guess it depends on what part you live in. I live in Orlando and I don't know any.

  • For chrissake, girls, don't change your accent for the benefit of those rednecks down there.Think of what's gonna happen when you go home and say to your mom, "Howdy Ma, ha'rr y'all dewin'?" Stick with what you've got, it's part of what makes you you.

  • However, if you really want to talk southern, slow your speech. It's pretty impossible to teach you to speak southern in writing, though.

  • People from Florida don't have southern accents. I am from Florida and live in Georgia.

  • the girl with the lighter hair color has a better more relaxed / natural southern accent.. the darker hair sounds forced...

  • Girls, just be yourselves.

If anything you'll be cool because you guys are from the north and it'll be a conversation starter. Florida does not have that big of a southern accent. I go to Florida State and that's in the Panhandle, that is where you probably find a southern accent in Florida, and the southern accent just naturally sticks to you. Trust me, in no time you'll be drinking sweet tea on your front porch. ;)

  • You can't change your voice to mimic southerners. If anyone from the south hears you speak with a fake accent they think of it as a mockery. Trust me keep your true accent and have a good time in the south, because its a more pleasant place.

But you would be in Florida and we Georgian neighbors don't think of them as southerners. So do as you please just tell them how much you hate the Gators and the Dawgs will always be better.

  • Comment removed

  • I think most people from the South would take it as mockery if you tried to talk like that...it's really bad. Sounds like me trying to talk like a Yankee...just doesn't work. Just be yourself and before you know it you will say "ya'll" or "young 'uns" in a sentence without effort lol.

  • hahah thank you so much. I think we are just going to have to take some hasseling and wait for the accent to come naturally. :]

  • Wth is a Yankee?. . .O.o

  • Anyone above the mason dixon line.

  • . . .Is being a Yankee a bad thing? *confused* I still don't know what it means just where they live. . .

  • How can you be confused? During the civil war you had the yanks and the Johnny Reb. The name has stuck with them. Its another name for northerner. You have to understand the hard feelings the south have for the northerners haven't truly evaporated. There is a small grudge that most southerners feel against the north simply because we feel that the south has always been mistreated.

  • Well sorrrrryyy <.< I'm sooo sorry I annoyed you with my stupid questions. Next time just don't answer! l:< *hmpf!*

  • aw i dont think it was a stupid question. we aren't born knowing this stuff. i still dont get it either. seems like a form of discrimination to me.

  • The most helpful advice would simply be: don't make fun of those who have southern accents. Southerners like myself may laugh off a southern joke, but deep down they hate it. It's seen as disrespectful here. I personally cringe when I hear someone imitating a southern accent. And Florida has very few pockets of land where the people have actual southern accents. I use to live in Orlando.

    Place of Birth: Dothan, Alabama

  • haha, I think the first thing you need to realize is that Florida is not the South. It doesn't have southern accents or anything like that. But those accents you have are very funny. If you want to get a good accent, you should try to mimic country music.

  • Parts of Florida near Alabama and In the Everglades have real southern accents.

  • @thunorrr

I live in Andalusia, Alabama which is like 45 min away from the Florida state line. I have to agree.

  • watch the way you say ah and a. that is a dead give away.

  • what do you mean?

  • lol, sorry that's vague it's hard to explain. but when you say accent, your "a" sound sounds "northern" from a "southern" standpoint. lol, i know that makes no sense. also, you can say 'chyall, like whatch-yall doin? also, for should sound like fer or fur. that's all i can think of right now. good luck :)

  • ok thank you! this really helps a lot!!! :]

  • you say wiscaaaaaaanson, isntead of wisCONsin. i made a video response, tried to explain it

  • I'm from Florida :)

  • you two need help :) lol I'll make a vid to help ya out.

  • south caroilina im biggest red neck eva

  • I wish you luck with your endeavor

  • i can help you. i am in north carolina :)
