Might be late, but the reason there are train tracks is to bring us(The Sandhogs) from the shaft to the head, which is the end of the tunnel that we're working on at the time with the mole.
the water goes many miles w/o any pumps. the system runs on gravity from what ive heard from supervisors. ive worked there 15 years. but im being fired now. it is an amazing flow system. ive been inside the older parts to patch holes. it was made of hand liad brick. it seemed to be near perfect in dimension from what i saw.
