The best is to buy an Engl Powerball ii E645 or an Mesa Boogie(Mark V or Single/Dual/Triple Rectifier) or an Peavey 6505+. If it is to expensive try new pickups like EMG Active's or better, a Pedal like a Tube Screamer....hope i could help.

not gonna lie this may work on a lil epi studio10 but I assure you try that on a bigger amp say an 80watt laney you will blow out your eardrums. Best advice i was ever given is fiddle with it til you find what you like.

@Neatroultima If you amp isn't a tube amp, you can't get distortion by turning it up. You will need a distortion pedal.

I have a little trick switching from distortion to clean. I use a les paul, set the bridge pickups to vol. 10 and the neck pickups to vol. 3-ish and then just switch between the pickups because if you turn the volume too far down, it kinda kills the distortion.

You can have a really nice clean sound (with only bass middle treble and volume).

If your amp doesnt have a "gain" knob, it probably has a button which says "overdrive" or "distortion".

Try to push that, :) you'll have a overdriven sound ...

OMG thank YOU . it's my second day playing guitar. And i got a amp from my cosin for cheap so i din't know how it worked. u HELP me understand . and it does a lil noise(like wen ur looking tv and its that chhchh screen , the highter i put the vol the more it does it.. i saw that the plug on the amp is a litle broken, the part that keeps it in tight. um i would think that that would be the problem[if it is, is it fixable?] plz reply to me :) )
