the car's crash and all the physics are very very great in the game. but there are one mistake... if you ran in to the wall (approx. 60-80 km/h like in the video) there is "game over" to the engine. but in the game the car still works. (sorry for my english)

Sorry, but I don't see any real crash model on it, except the graphic one. This is a game, guys. A game to play for a few hours, where you can learn to drive a "WRC" in just 2 hours.

This is not a driving simulation, neither a crash simulation, and even less a dynamism simulation. This is just a fully comercial game.

Actually, chassis are meant to take all the impact from a crash, and sustain the most damage, so the driver doesn't get injured. That's why F-1 cars are destroyed so easily, for instance. Back in the day, when they were all made of solid metal, the number of deaths was much higher.

this game/video makes me want to get a next gen console.. if there are rally game fans out there, go try rallisport challenge 2 (a bit arcady but insanely fun) and richard burns rally (hard simulation, but still fun and rewarding). Dirt looks like there taking a few pages from RSC2, but doesnt look like the driving physics has as much depth or difficulty... but i guess well have to wait and see

well I'm with you, the physics are so ridiculous, they still use a central turning axe for inertia, this is the main difference between an arcade and a simulation. I do play LFS and specially RBR (do you?). Both have quite a good dynamic physics, centering the weight and intertia and grips on 4 points, of course the wheels.

But we must understand that arcade games are for people not as hardcore, who just want to have fun for some hours

I just cancelled my pre-order for Forza 2 and put the deposit on Dirt. Ive played both demos and I think overall that Dirt is the best. Sure, the physics and customization of Forza 2 is awesome but Dirt is just so much more fun. It's faster, the graphics are gorgeous and the crashes are spectacular. I especially like the fact that you can slow-down replays and watch crashes in full detail. I cant wait to get this game. Sorry Forza 2 - I did love you but I love Dirt more now :-)
