Certain utilities. You can use an emulator called Nesticle to change tiles and palettes and dump the changes on to the rom file. This isn't my hack though, but I do have one in the works

The strategy I use was to have a counselor go around and get medicine. When the strongest ones are almost dying, heal them as much as possible. It's makes the game easy but if one takes TOO much time then it's near impossible because Wilford will not go away even if you're down to two people or his life is low. I've dicovered this.
