The problem is most Americans don't appreciate talent. Especially the mainstream audience watching this show. They want there music sugar sweet and almost indistinguishable from all the other popular mainsteam music. There is so much musical talent out there that never even gets considered for airplay because it may require the listener to actually think.

The corpse of Average White Band.
I am a huge fan of funk music and even I am not grooving on this stuff. 1976 recycled licks stolen from Stevie Wonder, AWB, Earth Wind Fire, et. al. just isn't all that interesting.
The sound is loud without having energy. There is no "pop". It is a bunch of musicians playing together instead of a band.
On the positive? Jamie is smokin' hot.
