Austin Pendleton's voice has an uncanny and magical way of cheering me up, or calming me down, or making me think everything just might be all right after all. He is the only man I ever was aware of that truly fit the definition of "sweet" without it meaning "weak" as well. I think his voice is a gift. Lucinda

Austin sang the same song at the Limonade tous les jours benefit on 3/1/10. I don't know what it felt like to be in the Joe's Pub audience, but it was thrilling in the paradoxically harsh-lit intimacy of the Cell Theatre in Chelsea. I've never felt a space so three dimensionally. Various points in space were filled with the objects of memory and desire that he placed out there with such care and precision. He is a wonder and I utterly agree with jerobagg's take on the man.
