I live in Ellis county, and have two southern maples. My yard is dark clay on one side and red on the other. The tree planted in the dark clay is doing well and growing the other is in the red dirt and trying to make it but it is half the size of the other tree. The leaves are light green with brown spots on the red clay tree. I have applied miracle grow spikes around the second tree and I try to water once a week to see if I can help it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
