  • everyone says the needle depth needs to be set at a sixteenth or eighth of an inch but they never say weather the needle should be at that depth at rest or at it furthest point. could u shed some light on this for me. im a beginner and im having trouble with the depth settings on my machine.

  • together like flat like this like flat see the needle? and thats it

  • @elementtattootech do u bend the shader needles also or just the liners?

  • thats it what about how far the needle comes out

  • what would you tell a beggner to buy and start with.

I AM ONLY GOING TP PRACTICE ON BANANS

    SHARE YOUR WISDOM!

  • you didn't put the arch in the needle, your supposed to double wrap the rubber band or use 2 bands, and your supposed to have the needle out an 8th of an inch

  • According to some of you if I were making a welding video and I wasn't going to turn it on just show a few things I should were a mask and gloves hun?? To funny. He was just showing how to insert the items ... and I am sure some of your nails are just so manicured huh? French perhaps? Wonders if they get that... anyway thank you El for the video it's nice to see how it all works ... I love the machine tutorials on youtube .. righteous

  • See his finger nails. GROSS!

  • Looks pretty gross with no gloves... yuck

  • look up centri tattoo machines !!! they are sick!! you wont be dissapointed!!

  • wow that needle is huge i though the one my mate had was big

  • @TheHsack there are 2X bigger than that

  • @TheHsack it was a shader man

  • @westyavro yer i know mate im not a retard i just said needle cause i wasnt getting technical

  • LMFAO you dudes are vicious I bet 90 percent of you do shitty work thats why your bitching at all the newcomers

  • LMFAO you dudes are vicious I bet 90 percent of you do shitty work thats why your bitching at all the newcomers

  • the opening on the loop of the needle bar goes to the right of the machine

  • @MrLito178 this video i made to make you fail!

  • thanx for the help me now can u post one on how to setup on what power to the shades and lining pls

  • i wanna start tattoing where shall i start??

  • @themasterofallarts buy a tattoo machine lol

  • wich is better? rottary or solenoid tatto machines?

  • THANK YOU FOR THE LINK!

i just bought my kit for $100 , n its some good quality stuff.

never get those cheap $40 kits, why?

cuz your equipement makes a big difference of your work

you wana have a good rep n name for your work so its worth the money

  • I've always wondered why are the handles always big?

  • Yes, I'd like to know where you got that big mag myself???

  • What kind of tube is that and where can i find it?

  • If your machine is not vibrating you need to adjust the armature bar using the screw at the rear of your machine, Ideally when you push the armature bar forward the gap between the bar and screw shoud be about 2mm, hope this helps....

  • This didn't tell me how to set up a tattoo machine. When I turn the voltage up, the machine just snaps down. When I turn the voltage down, it snaps up. It doesn't vibrate like they show in these videos.

  • @HungryGuyStories you probably need to make sure your contact screw is in the rightplace, you should never mess with your voltage too much, i run mine at 6v/7v perfectly, if you don't have a clue what you're doing, ask an artist, they will help, they don't want you to fuck peoples skin even worse.

  • @holyshitdudeify - lol. Don't worry. I don't plan to touch anyone's skin until I get a few clues :-) For now, I'm practicing on practice skin and fruits and vegetables.

  • @HungryGuyStories yeah that's the best way mate, i heard grapefruit is the best, practice skins suck though man, keep bugging your local artists about an apprenticeship though man!

  • Don't call it a gun, they will kick your ass... seriously. lol

  • @radytat2 then why dont you tell us and go "into enough depth" smarty?

  • Comment removed

  • this guy doesnt go into enough depth why the needle needs to be flat and stuff

  • thats a fine looking tattoo gun...mine is so ghetto :(

  • @heylel444,,,,,,,, FUCK YOU !!!!!!!! Don't be mad we take your clients , you rob them , we don't , we give them the same art they would have got at a HACK shop, don't be mad u went threw hell sweeping floors and paid 10000 , and got what we learned ourselves for free, dirty? NO !!!! now we use disposables, CLEAN SCRATCHERS MOTHER FUCKER !!!!!!!! I speak for artists

  • @Heyle, You speak the truth man. It's a fucking sin what's going on out there. Rest assured you'll be working with a much better clientele and more of them than these hacks ever will.

  • The replies here absolutely make me fucking sick. Please people, if you have to ask these questions you should be looking for an apprenticeship. What ink do you use so your lines don't wipe off? Are you serious? That's just scary. Do the right thing and bust your ass for an apprenticeship. You shouldn't be touching a machine at this point.

  • what kind of ink do you use for an outline so that when you wipe the tattoo ink off, the outline doesnt start fading away?

  • @maricella61904 I seen you said pen and then ink

on a other post so im assuming you are talking about the stencil , so the ink from the drawing outline on the skin wont fade , if so its called spirit paper, cheap on line ,, and u trace your art on top of it and then use arm deodorant or what u prefer that works and press it on , i think u mean this , its transfer paper

  • I have a question... How I need to adjust the correct tattoo needle from the tattoo tips. Some of them setting 0.4mm needle come out from the tattoo tips.

  • i have a question for anyone, im just startin to practice and i just bought this tattoo machine and i plug it and tune it and everything but at the time to star putin the neddle in , turns off and i have to hit the pedal again n runs until touchs fake skin stops again :S can anyone tell me wht could be the problem?

  • man some of these questions are seriously fucked up,, surely they arnt for real.

  • i have a Q.. whats the difference between the grips and tubs? and what needles (liners/shaders do you recommended i start out with as a beginner?

  • im bout to invest in a tattoo starter kit so you might be getting a lot of questions from me

  • Comment removed

  • @TATTOOTRAINING i guess you want me to keep my videos up , i made you a offer ! maybe you did not get my message ? It would be that easy and i would be gone completely from you tube , i am a man of my word , i would be gone no posts or anything , it will take 20 minutes for u to email it to me in parts , it is very simple , and then no more me , no more proof videos , comments, even the old ones will be removed

  • @Headshothorror4488 no clue what your talking about , not that anyone ever does ,, but i allready happen to know you and all your videos will be gone soon enough .

you picked up a real machine months ago and you k you are an authority to say anything is a joke , you make me look good , i could care less what you do .

you dont allow ratings you dont allow comments , and you dont teach shit because you dont know shit , your a rookie ass scratcher .

  • @TATTOOTRAINING i notice you are always on tattoo sites talking about training but telling people how to do stuff but on your site you do have alot on about guns and how to do. but just wondering how come you got no work of yours up? maybe i missed it but just wondering cause i would not take advice from someone and did not see their work.

  • @Mr671yigo ok ill put that up

  • very good video.

  • Actually there is a bit more to actually setting the needle. He never get's into the depth of the needle. Basically, how much of the needle you want to come out of the tube. which is around an 1/8 of an inch TOTAL. You set it by pressing down on the armature bar after you have secured the needle into the tube. Happy drilling!!

  • cheers :)

  • i like ur vids man and ive been tattooing for many years one thing i never forget is u can never stop learning.i will watch the rest and hopefully learn something new.

  • at 0: 46 , he has pushed the needle tips against the bottom of the tube, thereby damaging the needle group.

This is how NOT TO SET UP A TATTOO MACHINE!

  • ...mmm I dont know, better machines are expensive,

  • im buying a tattoo kit but its for personal use only, i have no intention of using it on anyone else. i see shit tattooists charging people money and its not fair. but there are people out there who dont give a shit what they pay for, its those people that keep the amatuers paid. if theres a market for it there will always be boneheads tattooing people halfarsed. instructional videos are not the problem and neither are the people who sell kits online.

  • is that 37 magnum needle?

  • Ok i am practicing on my legs and I am using a 15 mag, with a bolt M series gun and cheapy powersupply, i thought shading would be easier with a mag but i still get the scratchy look in the shading and it doesnt blend good, and i need tips... PS got it from Element Tattoo supply...love your merch.

  • should meantion armature bar set up etc..

  • hi, im just starting and know nothing about the differences between tattoo machines, and would like to know what would be a good starter machine and why? thanks

  • @notdakota build your own, buy a realy cheap one play with it on a practiceskin, feel the machine, then look for a strong but light frame, a durable set of coils, a few long and short springs and just feel the machine, the thing you need to think about is how deep it should punch in and how hard, for liners and shaders...

  • After watching your video again, I am more sure your not the man for the job, the way you are handling the machine in general is like you have little experience, not to mention the needles coming into contact with the mouth of the tip, it does not take much to barb a needle, you do not seem to be trying to prevent this in anyway, your concentration is aimed at the vice that you forgot to losen prior to inserting needle tube ! a little more practice I think befor you begin to teach others.

  • @skunkystar hi. when u say bending the needle to compensate for the pull of the rubber band, can u clarify?thnx im just starting not touching skin yet tho lol...cheers

  • @dngcat . Hey dude, what I mean by my comment is that I pre bend the Needle bar slightly because when the rubber band is placed on the machine it bends the needle slightly towards the coils, this can cause the ink to splatter and the needle to be sticking out at a wierd angle, very minor problems, but in your case the least problems you have to deal with the better !

  • @skunkystar thanx man,i have learned about this since then..thanx for helpin out bro.not allot of people are willin to help without puttin people down ...cheers :)

  • Heya, don't get me wrong, I like to see informative videos on you tube about Tattooing, yet are you the man for the job ?, first of all you are posting a video on how to set up a needle grouping with tube ect . . . yet you sound uneductated ? a nipple as you call it has an industry standard name "grommet" and you do not mention anything about pre bending your needle to compensate for the pull of the rubber band, also which stops ink splatter.

  • @skunkystar im not saying that hes doing it right but if you know how, why are you watching a beginners tutorial of how to do it?

  • @AUBRI92 . . . Why fucking not ? I am a Tattooist and I browse videos about Tattooing because I am curious, I happened to come accross this video, I watched it, and I commented ! what the fuck, have you got a problem with that ?

  • @skunkystar jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus someones a bit touchy

  • @AUBRI92 . No, not touchy jus responding to your fucked up comment, dick !

  • @skunkystar point proven

  • lol sounds like he says he has no clothes on :P

  • surplusdriller.... First of all. YOU need to learn how to spell! Second his (NEILS) has nothing to do with tattooing because any artist with half a fucking brain uses surgical latex gloves to tattoo dipshit!

  • Sinister... You're a dumbass! Learn how to spell before you post comments you fucking dickhead!

  • And by populated i ment with artists not with people.

  • by the way that "nipple" you described......its called a gromet lol

  • You blame the videos yet everyone started somwhere by information they recieved. This is information is it not? It may be basic but you cant expect a begginer to design an entire mural. Artists need to except new generations of artists.

have you ever thought of moving to a less populated area? perhaps a naborhood relative with gangs? you know how they love there tattoos.

think before you start pointing fingers, there are many factors.

    genious

  • Its killn the industry with these videos, the market is way over saturated. Nowdays you can just buy a tattoo kit and thats it your tattooing? Scratches charging 20 bucks for an hour? Getting an apprenticeship is hard work, dedication, time, but who wants to do that?

  • @mtkilla253 I agree 100% with you but the bigger problem is that people who will do them anyways will do more damage on people if videos like this didn't exist.

  • i want to do that, but i have no idea on how to do so.

  • Fucking A man! Scratchers! HAhahaha just kidding I just did excatly what you said I bought a kit and now Im kicking ass and taking names for only 20 dollars for supplies! I love myself! Bitch!

  • @mtkilla253 i'm up for it...but cleaning toilets and wipe your ass...is not part of my apprenticeship...i'm a retired militairy and no need to waist my time or others!!!

  • @fabienmelanson get practiceskin, fool around with cheap machines, learn how deep and how hard it should punch in for liners and shaders... tattoo your self only when you've practiced enough on practiceskin and after you have built your own machine..... remember, a strong and light frame, durable set of coils, and a few springs in various length, so that you will know your machine and the feel of it

  • CLIPP YOUR NEILS YOU DURTY BASTARD

  • Learn to spell you fucking idiot.

  • hahaha now thats classy! A+++

  • Well that sucked, how about watching out when your putting the needle in, when you pushed it back out it barbed itself, it will do this every time also, never let the needles touch anything.....plus set your depth......useless video, it will help out some scratchers i suppose..........

  • help how do i clean the actual machine itself and i have disposable tips that are not pre sterile how do i sterilize them? please write me

  • just wanna say i picked up a tattoo machine a month ago and im producing , ace tattoos and very clean work , fact is ,its not as hard as , some think , in the real world tattoo artists are gonna lose money if every 1 picks up a machine , all i say if your gonna gonna be a scratcher be sterile and safe get a good autoclave , and have fun , i am not paying 4 my tattoos any more rember your only as good as the last tattoo you done

  • Thing I'm going deaf.

  • How far should the needle stick out the end?

  • some guys have out far,( so they can see the depth) and some prefer to ride the rail, and keep the needle close.( so you can rub the metal tip right on them.) two different styles.

  • Precisely you think they would tell us this in a needle tutorial ! have you since discovered how far it should stick out ?

  • Hey swift one the bar always goes up like he said you watched another youtube video with a guy with a different kind of needles or some that were assembled at home. It doesn't matter which way the opening in the other end points as long as the bar is up educate yourself before you go calling people names it only makes you look like an illiterate fool.

  • abiisykes - Will do thanks for the support!

  • @elementtattootech just wondering how far does the needle actualy go in the skin??

  • you forgot to set the depth of it no biggy if you know what your doing then do it if you dont then youll learn lol

  • not every needle bar needs to be bent. you only need to bend the bar if the needles are not laying flat against your tube once your rubber band is on. this keeps your machine from spraying ink all over the place. also you must be a noob if you've been told to follow the rule of which direction the loop cut is facing as opposed to actually paying attention to the solder. unless you made the needle yourself always check em. sometimes a new needle can be barbed always check em first.

  • barbed?

  • barbed is when the very tip of the needles is bent causing more of a tear in the skin than a puncture. this can fuck someones tattoo up.

  • ha ha ha you are wrong buddy that needle is in right it doesnt matter what side the gap in the loop is it is all about the solder being on top and the needle laying flat in the tube. His happens to be opposite of most, as well I use some needles where the loops are different as well. Some company's have their liners to the right and flats to the left.I am just letting you know so you dont mess someone up.

  • yeah ur gooodddd noootttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Is the 1.2 for outlining and the 2 mm for shading?

  • i can't hear it

  • you have nice hands....

  • should only go about 1.22 mm deep to get into the dermis layer of skin. anny deeper and you could risk fkin yourself. just trying to help not being all bitchy like these ''pro tattooists'' moaning about apprenteships.

  • what model machine are you useing

  • There's no such thing as "pro tattoo gun" it's a tattoo machine!! That's prolly one thing you should learn first! Second, get an apprenticeship and ask your mentor where to hook up the clip cord!

  • Hi, I have been doing tattoos for about a year, & this will be my first time useing a pro tattoo gun, where would i hook up the power chord?

  • the power cord runs to a dc power supply, where you adjust the voltage depending on what performance u want out of the machine. depending on the coil wrap size this should be altered. most common is the 10 wrap coil i think

  • hey you no that this is one of the first sites where there isnt any bad comments, i don't know if it's just the tattooing community but you all seem really nice im just starting out as a tattoo artist and hopefully when we all make it to the top we can remember how we felt when we wer starting off and not be so protective like that dude said about the NZ ppl :D

  • good tutorials...i buy from them. didnt mean to give it 1 star..woops

  • cut your nails !! and then speak about tattoos ;)

  • how ? far out should the needles go when you are colour ing a tattoo.

i have had a few jobs needing touched up.

is it because i'm not going deep enough

  • line the needle up with the tip of the tube so its flush push down on you aperture bar all the way the tip of the needle should stick out about the width of a nickel and a dime stacked together.now that when you're pushing the bar all the way down when you run the machine it will not stick out so far depending on you voltage and the setting of you machine,

  • 1.2 to 2 mm deep to get to the dermis layer of skin

  • when you set up your machine how far out do you set the needles

i have had problems with some jobs needing touched up so i was wondering if im not going deep enough

    any info would be good

  • hey is there any way i could get a promo code for online? im buying a full setup for $587 and am kinda tight on cash. if not its cool its a business and getting YOUR fair money is business. thanks again pCc.

  • nice tutorials, its good to see experienced tattooists helping out beginners. im from new zealand and tattooists here like to keep everything a secret like they think they are going to loose business over night.

  • Nice

  • Thanks for the comments. If you have any questions just ask!

  • i have a question.... is there a diffrence between a 1000$ machiene and a 150$ machiene? or does it have to do with the artist and the ink? because from what i have been told, you can do just as good of work with a cheap machiene as you could with and expensive machiene...any thoughts?

  • thanks for the comment, as for the machine its all about the artist doing the tattoo i have been tattooing for many years and i have found that the machine does matter but to buy a tattoo machine for $1000 thats more collectors. the tattoo machines we carry (m series) work great to push ink and work great! if you are just starting don't go crazy and but an expensive machine just yet. buy one you can afford and work with it. Element Tattoo Supplies give full support of there products. it helps!!!

  • @ismokegreentrees check out the tattoo apprentice blog on tattoo-apprentice just look at my videos for the link - there is a blog post - about tattoo machines and prices and what is the difference - APril 19 blog post "Tattoo Machines Cost Big Bucks – Or do They?

    19

    APR

Is a tattoo machine that costs $49.00 in a catalog just as good as a $500.00 one that you can only purchase if you work in a real studio?

The short answer: Yes and No.

The long answer… where do I start?"

  • Interseting

  • Cool thanks
