I grew up in Los Angeles in the 60s and remember Dick Layne announcing all the great matches from the Olympic, with Jimmy the announcer (forgot his last name). All the great wrestlers. I remember also one young really muscular wrestler, kind of a jobber, named Rick Dreyson, awesome. Wonder whatever happened to him. Truly a great era for wrestling.
do you have a link anywhere, would love to see what he looks like these days. i saw him in person many years ago when he was still wrestling, in a deli in encino with 2 beautiful women with him....he was the best jobber i've ever seen....wish they would have allowed him to win more!
What a joy to see the great Canadian Eduardo Carpentier--remember when Killer Kowalski virtually pulled his shorts off --Eduardo was a tremednous athlete, so fleet of ooot and a man of cartwheels, dropkicks, and flying snap mares. Clean and strong. He is sorely missed.
This was a great time in wrestling ! Mu father took me to the Olympic every Wednesday to see the matches.....Carpentier was my favorite. By the way, the referee in this match was also very famous. He was "red shoes" Dugin.
Damn that ring makes even the WWE ring look small.

In the video, it says Carpentier was the world champ. What league was this? NWA? AWA? Some other promotion lost in time?

Thanks for the upload.
It's a Great Match, but I'd never expect my Great Grandfather to ever be a Wrestler.
I thought he just did Football.

Red Shoes was one of my favorite refs to work my matches. He'd tell me jokes non-stop throughout the matches as only he could do it. It was a riot.
