Cause the defender is going to be guessing which side to go to, and if they commit to one side before they even see where the ball's going, they can beat the defender with an easier shot

But you have to consider this, no other tennis player would have been capable of doing what Monfils did with those points because he is do damn athletic that he can keep pace with olypmic runners (from what i hear). I think Cilic did not suspect that Monfls would return some of those shots.

I love Gael.  He is just so interesting to watch. Him and Murray actually brought me back around to watching tennis again. Nadal too, but I'm a big, big fan of Gael. But I do have to say this, Cilic has a gorgeous serve motion. I just love how far he leans back and just lets it go. It's beautiful.
