I only believe evolution. Even since I was a small child I made that decision on my own and my parents did not try and influence me otherwise. My point about McCain/Palin is not about evolution, it's about defense. Thanks for commenting.

Well, there is no "debate." There are no "sides" in the scientific community. Every reputable biologist is completely behind the theory of evolution because it is supported by thousands of facts that can be tested and shown without a doubt to be true. The other "side" is supported by one book that continuously contradicts itself. There is no argument.

Hillary is a complete and utter self serving fool to stay with her husband after all of his filthy indiscretions. Any self respecting woman would have long divorced him, but she knows that would curtail her political career. It would be nice to have a black person in power. Maybe Powell, maybe Rice, but not Obama. If Hillary and Bill hadn't made racist remarks about Obama in the campaign, then she would be on the ticket today. The Clinton's collective ego is too large to know when to shut up.

We pick the best person based on the struggles we face and hope that the country will be the better for it. Instead of listing all the reasons why something can't work, let's do something novel and list the great attributes Ms. Palin will bring to the Office of Vice President and perhaps one day even President!

I love what Sarah Palin said about going up against the 'old boy network'. She's a courageous battler who goes her own way. I think John McCain echoes these sentiments when he so boldly asserts how corrupt Washington is. I am really warming up big time to these two prime candidates. Their message is really resonating with me. Hopefully everyone else will come on board after the Republican convention.

Exciting! It's really going to be great to see her rise to the challenge. I know she can do it. She isn't a person I agree with on some issues but I trust her and feel very comfortable with the two of them representing USA. Same with Powell and Condi. I really would have loved to see Condi be VP but I know this was the brilliant risk he needed to take and try and break away from the Bush administration.

It's clear to me she has 'true grit' and has the stamina and strength to achieve great success as President McCain's running mate and Vice President. I'm not even American and I'm excited for the very first time in the run up to this important election.

I'm anti-gun in general, particularly for cities, but hunting for food is preferable to the way we kill livestock for mass consumption. Unlike Ms. Palin, I'm not anti-gay and I'm pro-choice. In a democracy, I have to respect her right to those opinions. I don't expect her to demonize the gay community, and I don't expect her to encourage more guns on city streets for civilians. I love that she is pro-life in regards to her boy Trig, but I don't expect her to criminalize pro-choice citizens.

In Miami most guns on the streets used in crimes are unregistered or stolen. I think if you were a woman & you lived here, you might change your mind. But all the rest, we're pretty much the same on. I like that McCain has a reputation for "reaching across the table" as he puts it. I think he could bring the country together, the 2 parties closer & that the opposite is true of Obama. I would have chosen him if I thought I could trust him. Hillary too.

I guess if I was a woman in Miami or LA I'd probably carry a gun, but I feel that is a terribly sad reality for us all. I tend to be an idealist, ie. 'No guns = no shootings.' I agree with your assessment of Obama and Clinton. I love this news though. It just feels like the best team to vote for and a good ticket to vote for. Thanks for letting me sound off on something so important, exciting and so encouraging for us all. Now I feel there is real hope for a great outcome in this election. :)

I saw Ms. Palin on tv a while back during an energy crisis in Juneau Alaska. They had to survive on 1/2 the energy consumption for months during the winter due to a hydro failure. The crisis also resurrected arguments about where the capitol city of Alaska should be. I thought she defended both the reaction to the energy crisis and the issue of state capitol location very well. She impressed me a lot. Kudos to Kate for putting a well deserved spotlight on Ms. Palin! Good work Kate! :)

Ouch! I do not know everything! :) In fact I didn't even know about this decision until I saw your video! It was only then that I turned on CNN. I've been plugged in to Q-Stock all day! LOL. So the credit goes back to you dear Kate for informing me about the selection of Ms. Palin. I was worried that Mr. McCain would choose a crusty, white, male conservative, but he happily surprised me with his choice of a vibrant, ethical, moral and intelligent woman.
