Before Solomon Islands gained their Independence from Britain, lots of Kiribati people were re-settled in the Solomon Islands from Kiribati( who were also under the British protectorate) formerly known as the Gilbertise Islands,( because of over crowding..maybe). To this day there are lots of Kiribati settlements in the Western Province and the two main Villages are Titiana and Wagina. And yes as mentioned earlier, Solomon Islands is made up of Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia...

and like u said the language is similar to kiribati but its solomon islander cos maybe during the tribal times kiribatian's came looking for new land and found it in the solomon islands. so solomo islands is on of the most mixed islands in the south pacific

Ok here is the thing about solomon islandrs.

it is a big island with many litlle islands in it, they have melanesian and polynesian islanders living there every single island in the south pacific originated from asia. so every islander has words in common. take in belief renolbelona there language is similar to tongan people. probably because during the tribal times islander got in the cannoes and started to search for new land.

Hi I love this music. I was in Honiara ages ago and love it. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go to Titiana but heard from alot of friends from there, that it is a beautiful island. would love to go back to solo..could u pls update me with more lovely kiribati music from your side. the music from Solomon is quite interesting to me especially with the language. Still Kiribati language but kind of mixand very very interesting..cheers guys
