  • Hummm, U teach french better than my french teacher.

  • @yaojingyu1

    Thanks. Glad you like it.

  • @yaojingyu1

people usually miss these tiny stuff

  • Thank you Mr.Jéremy. Loved lessons.

  • Thank you for beneficial lessons I loved it

  • how did you know lecon is feminine?

  • Hehe, great videos. Its just funny, because in Norwegian, the way you pronounce "Deux" sounds exactly like "Die" ("Dø"), and with a kind of evil kind tone to it XD

Also I truly love your videos, I missed out in college but I want to learn French again!

    Au revoir,

    Julian

  • @Nabo00o

    Thanks Julian :-)

  • 5 people are over-educated :P

  • Useful lessons.

    Merci!!

  • Oh, I'm sorry, I think I just mark a comment like spam ! of course accidentaly... :S and I don't know how to revert it ...

    My appologies!

  • Thanks so much for your videos. I've been trying to learn French on and off for years. I'm even married to a French woman who will never speak to me in French. These videos are really helping and now I can initiate French with my wife who then feels a little compelled to reply in French at least. It's a start!!! Au revoir - merci beaucoup!

  • I thought vivre was spanish

  • Thank you for the great videos Remy. I took french lessons in high school and your videos are refreshing my memory.... I hope I can be speaking french soon.

    Merci Remy!

  • The country "les Philippines" takes the plurial because it is too "les îles philippines". In this case "philippines" is an adjective and not a noun "nom propre".

  • My least favorite part of French class in high school was conjugating the verbs. Blech!

  • bounjor jlmmplle austin merci!

  • thank u soo much Remy..it is really useful..

  • at 6:45

the, "IT" looks like the Pi symbol!

  • thank you, you doing very good keep going

  • How come tu habite aint t'habite?

The U and A is clashing eachother.

  • why isn't "tu habite" written as " t'habite" ?

  • Hey Jeremy! Are you still in need of videos of people saying the numbers?

    (~?~)

  • just a question though

would "je vis a dallas" still be correct?

coz even in school we were taught to use habiter straight away but since you brought up vivre here, i thought i'd just bring it up =)

  • dix x = ck

  • it's nice you always reply on your comments, unlike others who are pretty snobbish. btw, merci beaucoup!

  • Oh... I've been called snobbish many a times :)

  • If You want to learn french there are only 2 ways

    Easy way=Long Time

    hard Way=Short time

Listen to people speak it and this may take up to 2-3 years Long Way

Learn verb and Nouns adjetives word by word study the verbs by JE TU IL/ELLE NOUS VOUS May take up to 1 year if studied correctly

These Basic French are Teaching you The short Way Which is the correct way

But I recommend The long way !

  • hey great video.. but would be better if u put what is in the video in the description so we can know a little... also do u have vids about how to find the COD or COI or sujet du verbe or stufff.... pleaase help.. thanx

  • hey Remy, i think too early for me to write in french, but i really really like your lessons. hey why r u not showing your face for the last few lessons, seriously, it's more easy to learn it when i see your face, thanks anyway

  • This was just an experiment to save on editing time but people overwhelmingly prefer to see me so... :)

  • Oui je sais. On me le demande beaucoup et je crois que c'est une bonne idée :)

  • how would you say i am from england ??

  • "Je viens d'Angleterre"

    "Je suis britanique" (British)

    "Je suis anglais" (English)

    "Je suis gallois" (Welsh)

    "Je suis écossais" (Scottish)

    "Je suis irlandais" (Irish)

  • Bonjour Rémy ! Vous remercier fort pour vos vidéos ! Ils sont stupéfiants. Mon français a amélioré si fort, j'ai été seulement à lui pendant deux jours ! Merci ! Au revoir !

  • REMY je vous remercie tellement, je suis l'apprentissage du français à l'école et vos vidéos sont très utiles

    le tenir en place

    merci beacoup!

    *****************

    *****************

thank you so much REMY, I am learning french in school and your videos are very helpful

    keep it up

    thank you very much!

  • Merci pour tes commentaires :)

    Rémy

  • I think you should just have shown all the verbs in the first lesson.

Like you should have put and I

and then show all the words to do with I.

    Such as:

    I am

    I live

    I ate

    I love

etc, and you should show the past tense too

  • remy - j'habite dans malaisienne and your lessons have been helping me understand the basics. i think im getting it but i often get lost at the part whr everything has a gender to it!! what makes a train masculine.. why cant it be feminine? lol. anyway that isnt my question... i wanted to know why tu habite isnt like je habite whr u end up dropping the e so it bcomes j'habite.. cuz tU hAbite.. are both vowels.. isnt that a clash? im confused. please explain.

i love your videos! merci beucoup!

  • "Un train" is masculine and that's the way it is. Learn it as such. French children do :)

The "u" sound doesn't clash with the "a" sound. It flows but many French speaker do drop the "u" because it's faster.

    "That's French for Ya!"

  • Actually you're right, there is a clash of vowels and people do this exact thing when they speak leisurely.

But if you can change "Je" to "J' ", you should not, if you speak in a formal way, change "Tu" to "T' " except in street French, which drop letters a lot.

There will always be a great difference between the French you need in an exam, and the one people actually talk in the streets :-)

  • J'habite en Angleterre, dans le nord-est.

  • careful.....not di(ks)..:P

  • I REALLY LIVE IN DALLAS HEHE

  • J'ai a une question, quand tu dit 90, on dit nonante ou quatre-vingt dix ou c'est sont pas importante, parce'que ici on belgique ils ce dit ca c'est nonante, mais j'ai pas sure.

  • Je dis quatre-vingt dix. Je n'ai jamais entendu dire "nonante" :)

  • Normal, c'est typiquement Belge.

En France on dit soixante-dix, quatre-vingt et quatre-vingt-dix, et non pas septante, octante et nonante.

  • merci...thank you...terima kasih...

  • terima kasih (Malay?)

  • yup...that's in Malay.

  • A noter qu' "habiter" a également un synonyme : "résider". Terme qui ressemble beaucoup au verbe anglais "to reside", qui doit à mon avis etre directement issu de la langue française.

  • Très bonne idée.

  • Remy:

You should use French terms for Accent Aigu, grave and circonflexe so that the students have an idea of these special terms for in English, there is no such terms. Thanks.

  • Remy: Why don't you teach us the terms in French, like accent circonflexe, accent aigu and accent grave instead of a little hat etc...

  • merci

  • bonjour remy! random question! how do u say " i am sleepy" je suis....?

  • By sleepy you mean like you'd like to sleep, barely awakened??

    ''Je suis somnolent(e)''

  • merci beaucoup remy:)

  • thank you so much remy! I barely new any french, and i just started it in highschool and i was scared to death about starting a new language, like a lot of people, you are giving me a major edge,

for instance most people got 50% in a test, i got a 100 thanks to u!!

  • I'm so glad :)

  • RE: habitat - inhabit would be closer to the French habite.

  • bonjour remy c'es danny again.... je suis americain what r u ? ....... i like this video becuz i learned the numbers ... Merci , danny

  • hes goodish

  • I like the new method of using the white board >>> thanks alot Mr. Remy

  • I listen to these at work, I like how you add in extra detailed facts; it helps to supplement my knowledge of french. - keep it up dont let it die

  • great video!

  • wonderfull

  • I swear Remy , u are amazing . You are a good person , and a great teacher . I take french class in Middle School , and u totally have been giving me an advantage over the other kids . lol .

    -thanks!

  • haha me 2

  • you are one of the few helpful youtubers online.. the rest is just crap...

  • Remy, dont you drop the "u" for T' Habite, since the "H" is silents. ??

  • no thats for when the verb starts with a noun.

    for example:

j'aide (pour le verb aider) ou j'ai(pour le verb avior)

  • just for new learners. its avoir. cest pas avior. i think it might be a typo but just to clearify.

  • why did you laugh at 0:48?

    :D hahahaha

  • Oh I think you know why :)

  • hahhahahahahahhahaha!

  • Wow!

    What a coincidence,

I´m working in Habitat for Humanity in Mexico.

I think the organization is more famous in the US than in Mexico.

Great lesson, thank you very much for taking the time to teach french to us :)

  • Excellent lessons. I work for the federal government in Ottawa and basically have to learn French or forever stay in entry level positions. Finally someone who explains French for those who don't understand the language rather than others who don't explain and expect one to understand. Remy, you should work for the government here and teach French because I have tried basic French 2 times now and never get anywhere with their teaching methods. I actually get it now. Who hoo,Thanks for everything

  • I'm glad I can be of help :)

  • hi thanks for a verry helpful lesson..

    grah see ahs

  • haha....i see you mean "gracias"

    =D

  • Merci:)

But isn't it a crash of vowels in tu habites?

  • Nope. Somehow the U doesn't clash with the A.

    Same thing for:

    Tu as (You have)

In the spoken language you will here "T'as"

  • Bonjour!

    you should say :

"Comment ça va? Moi, je vais bien!"

"J'ai deux chats noirs et blancs"

"mdr je n'ai aucune idée de ce que je dis... mais merci quand même!" :p

  • what did you say?!

  • Merci Beaucoup! Je parle un peu français et j'aime tes videos. Merci!! =)

  • xD!!!! Tu me fait vraiment rire !!! bon video:)

  • Salut. I have one question. Sorry if this is obvious but I want to confirm it. Je habite is supposed to be J'habite as you say. So would tu habite be t'habite? Thanks Remy your lessons have helped out a lot.

  • Hummm....

You will here t'habite in the spoken language.

[Be awawre that it also sounds like something profane but in a different context]

  • u reakky have a very beutiful way of teaching french.merci:-)

  • Remy, you're the best!!!

    Merci beaucoup !

  • Wow these videos are very very nicely put together, thank you so much for doing this.

  • You're most welcome :)

  • This may sound dumb, but when you say "offensive to the french ear" do you mean, it'll make french people upset, or do you just mean, it's just wrong?

  • You're right actually. I just mean that it's the kind of mistake that French people would notice. Akin to playing the wrong note on a musical instrument.

  • the hat thing on the O is called a circumflex

  • C'est l'accent circonflexe.

I call it "the little hat"

  • it is called "le chapeau chinois" too

    (chinese hat)

but its called like that mostly by kids lol

  • You are the best French teacher I have ever had. THANKS!

  • :-)

  • wow my Spainsh skills help me alot with the French...merci Remy

  • Merci!

  • THX

  • Hi Remy : Your accent is so good, I even wondered if you were french or not. Now I know... (leçon 10, spelling numbers). Could you guess how I've found out ? :o) ok, i tell you... If you hand write seven (7), french people will always put a little stripe in the middle of the the "7". God I wish I could speak english as you speak my language.... Thanks a million for the tribute. Philippe

  • Sounds like an episode of Columbo!

Clever but you couldn't have known that I had to unlearn to write my sevens with the bar across... True story.

Born and raised in France :-)

I get so many comments from French people thinking that I am not French. That's what happen after one spends over 20 years in the U.S.

  • Vous et vos lecons sont magnifiques, M. Remy! J'etudie le Francais depuis 2 ans, et il y a beaucoup de choses que j'apprends de vous. Merci, merci, merci. :D

  • De rien :-)

I make lessons for nice people just like you :-)

  • ho, i leart something. I didn't know there's a hat on the o of hôpital.

    (and i'm french)

  • Comment?

  • Mais, je suis d'accord! J'aprenais le francias, il y a. six ans, et j'ai un bon niveau, mais, dans tous les cas, j'ai l'envie de parler le francais comme ma langue maternelle.

  • Hi i'm french and i'd just like to say that people have to be careful with french. Above all with pronouncation. The good french people is someone who doesn't speak well !! lol Like all countries, we have our little way to speak our dialect.. But here, in my opinion, it's special..

    "Je suis" = "J'suis" = "Chui" (pronounce)

    "Tu habites" = "T'habites"

    "Qu'est-ce que tu" = "Kestu"

    "Voilà" = "Vlà"

    "Je mange" = "J'mange"

    "Je monte" = "J'monte"

  • These lessons are great...I found your explanation of the "tombstone" on the o funny...poor s!

  • it is very nice of you put da video here for free but my comment is you speak too slow

  • not offensive, but English isn't my first language, so I love the way he talks. Go Remy. I wish I could make myself on a vid to thank u. :P
