really cool classes, Im an english teacher here in Brazil and now im learning french with ur online classes. I must say i have learned a lot, and to my luck I have 2 friends from Quebec who i can practice with on msn, keep up the good work!!
Hehe, great videos. Its just funny, because in Norwegian, the way you pronounce "Deux" sounds exactly like "Die" ("Dø"), and with a kind of evil kind tone to it XD
Also I truly love your videos, I missed out in college but I want to learn French again!
i've watched your videos all day... i am taking a french class, and my book is too confusing because it's IN french. your videos are a HUGE help; merci beaucoup mon ami!
Thanks so much for your videos. I've been trying to learn French on and off for years. I'm even married to a French woman who will never speak to me in French. These videos are really helping and now I can initiate French with my wife who then feels a little compelled to reply in French at least. It's a start!!! Au revoir - merci beaucoup!
Thank you for the great videos Remy. I took french lessons in high school and your videos are refreshing my memory.... I hope I can be speaking french soon.
The country "les Philippines" takes the plurial because it is too "les îles philippines". In this case "philippines" is an adjective and not a noun "nom propre".

Bonjour Rémy ! Vous remercier fort pour vos vidéos ! Ils sont stupéfiants. Mon français a amélioré si fort, j'ai été seulement à lui pendant deux jours ! Merci ! Au revoir !
remy - j'habite dans malaisienne and your lessons have been helping me understand the basics. i think im getting it but i often get lost at the part whr everything has a gender to it!! what makes a train masculine.. why cant it be feminine? lol. anyway that isnt my question... i wanted to know why tu habite isnt like je habite whr u end up dropping the e so it bcomes j'habite.. cuz tU hAbite.. are both vowels.. isnt that a clash? im confused. please explain.
Actually you're right, there is a clash of vowels and people do this exact thing when they speak leisurely.
But if you can change "Je" to "J' ", you should not, if you speak in a formal way, change "Tu" to "T' " except in street French, which drop letters a lot.
There will always be a great difference between the French you need in an exam, and the one people actually talk in the streets :-)
J'ai a une question, quand tu dit 90, on dit nonante ou quatre-vingt dix ou c'est sont pas importante, parce'que ici on belgique ils ce dit ca c'est nonante, mais j'ai pas sure.
A noter qu' "habiter" a également un synonyme : "résider". Terme qui ressemble beaucoup au verbe anglais "to reside", qui doit à mon avis etre directement issu de la langue française.
You should use French terms for Accent Aigu, grave and circonflexe so that the students have an idea of these special terms for in English, there is no such terms. Thanks.
thank you so much remy! I barely new any french, and i just started it in highschool and i was scared to death about starting a new language, like a lot of people, you are giving me a major edge,

If You want to learn french there are only 2 ways
Easy way=Long Time
hard Way=Short time
Listen to people speak it and this may take up to 2-3 years Long Way
Learn verb and Nouns adjetives word by word study the verbs by JE TU IL/ELLE NOUS VOUS May take up to 1 year if studied correctly
These Basic French are Teaching you The short Way Which is the correct way
But I recommend The long way !

I ate
I love
etc, and you should show the past tense too

"Un train" is masculine and that's the way it is. Learn it as such. French children do :)
The "u" sound doesn't clash with the "a" sound. It flows but many French speaker do drop the "u" because it's faster.
"That's French for Ya!"

Writing on the board is a brilliant idea, thank you! Please continue with the lessons, I eagerly await them. BTW, do you recommend any textbook for learning French for Americans?
