I think if you start them really young they can swim and it is so good for them, works out all the bits that give bulldogs problems later in life. Great vid :)

She is a very leggy bulldog! That is why, typically they drown, and when they are closer to standard they are very thick and the legs are short...your dogs legs look about 3 inches over standard...that would make a huge difference....

My dog, Apple LOVES water too! She is not quite as good of a swimmer though, if she goes in the water on her own without her vest (which she will do, but not for long) she will just float there with her legs spread out, looking unsure of what to do next- it's quite funny! I have got to hand it to her intelligence though- if I am swimming in the water she will jump on my back and hitch a ride! They have to be taught, so please be careful. I left my first bulldog alone in the backyard for 2 minutes to refill his water bowl and he fell in and drown. Ive taught the two I have now how to swim, but it is not a natural thing for them, and they can drown very very quickly. Please be careful people, I wouldnt wish that pain on anyone else!

My bulldog Dick can swim and go off the diving board and climb up and slide down our 8 foot waterslide so whoever said bulldogs couldnt swim is seriously mistaken.

thats because your bulldog is not a very nice one, the one's that are heavy, stocky and sturdy cannot swim due to that fact. yours isn't heavy boned and stocky.
