I met Chris several diffrent time at shows in Okla. he loved talking to his fans he signed my hat and I'll be damned if it didn't get lost when I moved
I love the collaboration. The fact the icon JBV recognized Chris' greatness & was down with doing a duet with him. I saw Chris @ billy bob's in early 2002. "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" (Alan Jackson) was still huge & Chris said I haven't written a song about 9-11, but I think this one conveys the right message & busted into Bang a Drum. Damned if I didn't choke up a bit. RIP Chris!
I worked security at his last show in Casper, Wyoming. The man emanated love for his audience and for his country. He was the real deal folks. No doubt about it.
Thanks Chris: Your music always brings back lots of great memories. I remember Amarillo By Morning before George recorded it. I am sure all of the rodeo people feel the same and love and miss you. I wish I still had the 8 tracks we listened to!! I guess God needed a rodeo cowboy/musician!! Tina - Sizemore Livestock, Red Bluff California

@TheJustinkelly Hallo this is a song written by JON BON JOVI !!! This song is from the album Young guns-Blaze of glory.LOVE JON -Love BON JOVI !!!!!!
I still mourn him all these years after his passing. I think America lost a little bit of soul with Chris' passing, but thankfully his music remains to remind us to walk a little bit straighter, to smile a little bit brighter, and to try a little bit harder.
There is nothing better than a good hearted country song. Except for when it comes from the hearts of two great singers. God bless Chris and may he rest in piece.
This song means a lot to me. It has helped me to think of the lyrics and sing them during some hairy or scary situations. God Bless Chris LeDoux...you were gone too soon.
I remember hearing this song on a country station back in 2005, and for some reason I knew he had died. Great song regardless if Jon Bon Jovi sings it, or a duet with him. Great video as well. Much like Johnny Cash,, Chris LeDeoux makes a song his own.
My Step Father Was His Bassist Till He passed RIP Chris He was an amazing man BUT They still have the band Western Underground Check em' out they're Excellent Not quite the same without Chris but they have some awesome songs!
I love this song, I love bon jovi's letters and songs, Dedicated for ma cherie Madeline and her firends Ohelie, Maeva, Aline, Methew, and...Anthony, Im bad to remember names but it's all rigth and for all my friends when you have problems, only close your eyes and bang a drum for youself and a drum for me.
This was a song originally on one of Jon's solo albums, "Blaze of Glory." Chris sa'sid it was one of his favorite songs. They seem to have brought it down a string or two. I guess neither can sing the As or C5s anymore. Too bad. Rest in peace, Chris.
Novemberrainlove? Where is the "love" part? I just see the hate :-( Opinions are like assholes...... everyone has one and the ones that feel the need to spew theirs are usually the biggest ASSHOLES!
i prefer jon's version but maybe it's because i love jon and i'm a huge fan or maybe it's because i don't know chris that well.. anyway, i still think that even though chris is a great vocalist, jon's version is better..
I'm glad that Chris, in his later days, teamed up on projects like this... they might help bridge the gap for the younger generations trying to accept "older music".
Chris documented a way of life on the road that has now died in America... I hope, for our kid's sake, that they find their way to discover some of the richness that our country now has lost.
I'm glad that Chris, in his later days, did projects like these, that might help bridge the younger generations into his music. Not to be high-faluting about it, but he did document a way of life on the road in America that is dead and gone now... I hope that many young people find their way over that "old stuff" bump and re-discover the country we once were.
Thanks for posting this....I hadn't seen Chris since the late 70's early 80's.... world champion bareback rider...Still have many of his old cassettes from 'haulin' days
What burns me is our so called radio stations don't have a clue of what country music is. put on a cowboy hat on this guy and there you are, a country singer.
THIS IS COUNTRY! Alan Jackson. George Strate. Chris LeDoux showed them all.
On March 9th I'm asking all Chris LeDoux fans to call their radio stations to request his music. Let radio know that we will NEVER forget this great man.
I did not see this song on the young gunsII soundtrack. Tons of other good songs, but not this one. THis as an awesome song by two fantastic vocalists. Although, Jon isnt near as good an artist, IMHO, as Chris, still it was awesome to hear them together
What year was this? The original song was in 1990 but this looks like it happened not son long ago. I mean considering Jon's hair is cut short, which I don't like. I miss his long hair.
I remember sitting in my pick-up in the mid 90's listening to this song by Bon Jovi thinking it would be great if he and Chris did a Duet together and a few years later we got it. This is a good one.
I will also bang a drum for you Chris. We miss you, it gonna be hard, you left us to soon, well We will see you over that ridge I hope they have a horse for us there.
What a GREAT song...I love the cowboy-city blend here....Ledoux and Bon Jovi are both AMAZING artists!!!!....Wish we still had Ledoux to perform more songs though.......this song gives me reason to believe!
@geektaicho believe what? why dont you believe yourself to believe what you want to believe. there is nothing to make me believe anything. only thing make me believe something is my brain. sorry my bad english. by the time I love this song. I love bon jovi.
Chris Ledoux is a old rodeo cowboy that is a 7 time bare back champ that song old rodeo songs that were known to the rodeo crowed. In the 90's garth brooks had a song that talked about Chris and his anf brought his music to a diffrent crowed of people he has been singing since the late 60's 95'/, of his songs are about the rodeo life that he lived. this song was recorded back in the late 90's. Chris passed away about 3 years ago. Great Music good shows and a hell of a horse rider
chris still did concerts in until like 2000 or something like that. that was the best concert i ever went to i will never forget about it. RIP Chris
RIP Chris......one of a kind....true cowboy in every sense of the word and a american hero....Go with God Chris for you are now a ghost rider in the sky
"Sing it with your heart and Soul, and believe it, and I'll say 'amen'". This should be one of Jon Bon Jovi's greatest songs. Excellent rendition by Chris LeDoux.

It hit me so hard I had to pull over and stop for 10 minutes. Just remember people "As long as my heart keeps on banging I've got a reason to believe"

Chris Ledoux... To me, an immigrant to this country, Chris Ledoux epitomized the American spirit.
Rugged, Beautiful, modest, good-hearted, bigger than life, kind, adventurous, polymorphic, courageous and gracious.
I still mourn him all these years after his passing. I think America lost a little bit of soul with Chris' passing, but thankfully his music remains to remind us to walk a little bit straighter, to smile a little bit brighter, and to try a little bit harder.

Oh, i didn't know he was dead. That makes this slightly less gay but it's still pretty gay compared to the original..

So it's not all heavy or hair metal and stuff, big deal it's still good music

They made a classic hit sound like a mainstream gospel song.. can't get no gayer than that..
rumvodkaf1 3 years ago
eh, You sound cold, nothing wrong with gospel songs
Authorandartist 3 years ago
Nothing at all, but why do this with a perfectly good song?
rumvodkaf1 3 years ago
Because it's good music, isn't that a good reason?

If jon wanted to do a song with this guy, they should have written a new one, there was nothing wrong with the original... This is so gay..

Just sounds a bit gay to me. What song will he remake next, miracle, santa fe??
rumvodkaf1 3 years ago
Jon and Ritchie wrote several songs,I imagine they'll write more, this remake was sort of a tribute from Chris, Jon joined him on it out of appreciation

Jon realised this on his first solo record "Blaze of Glory" in 1990. This version was realised in 1998 (if I am not mistaken)

I remember the first time I heard this song I was driving back from a rodeo and heard it on a small town country station somewhere in South-Central Missouri. It hit me so hard I had to pull over and stop for 10 minutes. Just remember people "As long as my heart keeps on banging I've got a reason to believe"
