Over there, religion is something sacred. I was still able to get perfect attendance during high school despite missing two classes per week on Fridays for Friday prayer. I was respected by my teachers for doing this.
Over here, religion is almost a joke. I tried convincing my Arabic teacher (at AUB) to allow me to skip 20 minutes of his class on Fridays, and he thought I was a loon. He said that "the system" simply won't allow for such a thing.
The English subtitles on CC are really nice for those interested but not fluent in Arabic - Thanks
