First, i liked your playing :) Second, the harpsichord sound is exactly perfect for a fugue and gives an authentic and charismatic feeling to it.
On top, the graphical representation makes the structure and the different layers of the fugue blatantly obvious. Completely different thing when you hear it, and much more challenging (but also more fun ;)
@cvbz Yes about the tempo he played way too fast, this piece should be played slow, u can search it on youtube some other videos, but i like this one, u can see whats all about it Bach simple the best
he's showing you that this incredibly complex piece is actually just a number of very simple runs - which he performs at the beginning and labels individually. When you put the runs together, and change their octaves, and repeat them in various orders, then you get the Fuga.
the letters that you see in the timeline at showing you where the individual snippets are (the ones he pointed out in the beginning)
so many notes and you have to get them exact i don't think that i could keep up with it i would be like seven notes behind or something. you did an awesome job though did you practice it allot?
hey man where did you get the Notes for this? I wanna give it a try =) and If you can recommend me any other WTC songs by Bach like this one that would also be great.
Please Jens post more videos like these! No fancy editing needed just plain simple videos where you play something...i dont care what you play :) just something
Fantastic! Thank you! Thank you! This fits in so many wonderful ways with Hofstadter's book Godel, Escher, Bach from a few years back, clearly showing both the structure of the fugue and the recursiveness or self-references in the theme. I just used this in a HS philosophy seminar about the liar paradox and Godel's incompleteness theorem. Bravo.
so.... uhm... trying ot understand a fugue better i came here.... i wanted to write one... no one is as good as bach...

Wtf O_o
I hate fugues. I can't play them. My brain can't get around them. Too much shit is happening at once. It's weird. Fuck that. Minimalism > fugues.

well this is minimalisn in a way, there's just lots of it :)

Minimalism isn't any easier to play than a fugue; sometimes it's harder. Ask anyone who's played 'Drumming' by Steve Reich.
How is this in any way minimalist?
Great performance, btw.
