I once listened to this album while floating down a river on a boat tripping on acid. As the sunset, I could see the curve of the earth in the sky. All of the water turned to liquid metal like mercury. The sun set and the moon and stars came out one at a time until the night sky had hundreds of thousands of stars. I never wanted to leave. It was so peaceful and still. I wish I was still there!
This says a lot about Paco´s ability to change his style and musicality, if you know Paco´s musical background it seems amazing that he wanted to play something radically different for him like this song, his open-mindness is one of his many atributes as a (genius) musician.
When I close my eyes these are the images that comes to my mind as I hear this....I'm sitting on a shack porch in a foreign country while it's slightly raining. With this beautiful music playing in the background from a old record player. It's still sunny and warm as I stare upward toward the clouds to view a double rainbow (I smile). Then I get up to go back in the shack because the record ends 3:52, simply so you can start it again and enjoy the beauty of the music with the rain.~Phurdrick
McLaughlin was just superb on the steel-string.I was just wondering why he switched on the nylon string later on his career............THE MASTER OF MASTERS...!
Watching these guys play with such passion was beautiful.. John playing with his fingers was awesome.. seeing him play so slow and not shred was utter bliss.. Genius guitarists
Where is that Coryell/Mclaughlin version where he is wearing shorts. That is some of the most devestatingly intense shit I've ever heard. Need it again.

@Epithom You're wrong. This is live performance in London at the Royal Albert Hall on St. Valentine's day 1979....

@VMGIAN I won't argue. I've got this performance on russian bootleg-like DVD, so I could be wrong.
