  • I love this song

  • @FlashbackToThe1970z

    VERY talented guy,yes.

  • @billyboy7465

How is it a bad thing?

  • @billyboy7465 to bad your straight

  • @PabloBrown7 And in a year or less no one will care she sang anything. MTV bimbo network will be showing the next cute but no talent skank doing the strip videos.

If in 38 years anyone even knows who Adele even was I'll be shocked. Other than her parents.

  • @runningchance You had to Google Elton John?? You are 46, how do you not know who he is? Where have you been living for the last 40 years?

  • @28paul1978 I'm 16 and I know who he is.

  • @PabloBrown7

Can Adele play like Elton? Will we listen to "her" albums in 42 years?

    I don't think so.

  • I've loved Mick since I'm 12 back in 1980.....I might be43...but I'm hot and rock to this tune!

  • this song changed my life while on extacy at a rave in 99, I know many people are against drugs, and I for one don't play around any more, but I was the happiest I ever been that night, thanks to this song am am now 32 and still remember that night

  • My friend's brother was an astronaut. When he died before he got a chance to go into space, they played this at his funeral. R.I.P. Richard O'Donnel. Still makes me cry thinking about it...

  • At Caesar's Palace from Sept 28 to Oct 23, 2011. Vegas, baby, Vegas!

  • The clip at the beginning was in 72,but the one where he's wearing the beret is from 77.The night he announced that this was going to be his last show..

  • wow

and today we have "take that" and "adele". what the hell happened people?!

  • only the price has changed the theory neva will

  • Best performance of the song probably. He doesn't even try to do the falsetto parts anymore

  • I've always been amazed how they wrote songs. Never togther. One wrote the words and the other the music. They seemed to always get it right. Fast, slow it always fit.

  • Excellent find! Thanks for sharing... As I recall, "Honky Chateau" was one of the first albums to popularize the then-fledgling ARP synthesizer. Alan R Pearlman had left Moog, to form his own company.

  • @runningchance Everything in this video screams 40 years old. You don't even need the sound to figure that out. Not to mention the title which has 1972 in it. LOL, I hope you're joking...

  • Eargasm !

  • Someone Get @cole15miller a medal... or a cookie. Either one should make an idiot happy.

  • LOL someone get @runningchance a medal!!

  • I think this guy stole this song from American Idol's Haley. He could have at least changed some of the notes and words! I hope she files suit on him.

  • @runningchance LOL, well played

  • @aoeiifreak how. your as stupid as him

  • @runningchance dude your fucking dumb hes been singing sense the 70s and your talking about idol from 2000s your the dumbest motherfucker ever

  • @runningchance fokk you!!! up your ASS!!

  • @runningchance hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. your a dumb ass

  • @runningchance You obviously never heard of Elton John's album (Yellow Brick Road ) Elton sang this song on it and it was played on the radio about 100 times a day in the early 70"s

  • @oldsmar2 Uh...that would've been the album "Honky Chateau"...

  • @expressdog1000 You are correct my mistake. Never the less it is an Elton John song.

  • @runningchance HAhahaha you so stupid, this song was produce, recorded and made 30 years before American Idol even existed

  • @ runningchance I meant 35-40 years.

  • @runningchance wow, you ARE dumb, this vid is from like the 70's i'm pretty sure she wasn't even born yet to steal it from Elton John....plus Elton is way better than her, she's good but not better than John

  • @runningchance If you really believe that Mr John stole this song from American Idol's Haley, then you are a sad bastard - not to mention an INCREDIBLY ignorant one.

Elton's version of the song "Rocket Man" (which was recorded in 1972) was the ORIGINAL version - and indeed the DEFINITIVE one.

Are you really a sad bastard, i wonder ..... or are you a wind-up merchant?!

  • @runningchance

    you're a dumbass, nuff said.

  • @runningchance WOW YOU FUCKING DUMB ASS IT SAYS 1972 NOT 2011 LEARN TO READ YOU UNEDUCATED PICE OF FUCKING SHIT

  • @tdragon142 - I googled Elton John and guess what idiot, it says he is best known as the Lion King. What a lame joke! He ain't no rock star!

  • @runningchance , are you on something? Seriously man, come on. Ether your stupid and serious, or just plain stupid. First of all, how can you refer to Elton as " this guy"? He's not just any guy, he is the most talented and amazing musician to have ever lived. And an amazing person. His talent goes beyond any American Idol crap. Second of all, this song was written before American Idol was even an idea! How can you possibly be this idiotic!?!?

  • I saw EJ live in Bangkok some years ago. He was fantastic!

  • this isnt live. its the studio recording

  • Bloody Americans!

  • How are there even 2 freakin dislikes? Some people just don't have a good taste for music.

  • Anyone know what this song is about? My guess is that it's about a guy who gets snockered when he goes traveling on business.

  • @davidrodgersNJ r u british by chance?

  • @darkgrunt66 No, I'm American

  • As I watch this video I see an ad for saving the dogs in Bali up in the right hand corner of this page, I which I could save all the animals in the world that suffer and die at the human hands....

  • @winfan1978 what about the ones we eat?

  • @winfan1978 I see an ad for a pedicure. I wish I can give all the ugly nails out there in ugly nail land and just give them a pedicure. human hands don't forget about the manicure....oh god the humanity...

  • This needs to be sung to astronaut Mark Kelly, husband of Gabby Giffords.

  • ok listen this is one of my favorite songs ever but those red glasses kinda make look like bubbles from trailer park boys....wish i was alive in the 70s :( id be a rocket man

  • "Oh, Rocket Man"

  • Not to toss the word around loosely but here goes. Genius. Pure genius.

Musically, lyrically and emotionally this song has got it all.

  • Elton John's music was so cool it crossed radio formats! They used to play Elton on R&B stations in Detroit.

  • i wanna jam with this dude

  • One of the best songs to blaze to

  • @otmmy fuck to the yes

  • Thanks again Elton!!!

  • I feel lucky to be 18 years old in this time and still love this.

  • Why do people feel the need to point out he's gay? is this news? he's been gay for years ffs but thanks anyway for your usefull information, now we've got that out of the way can we move on?.

  • @Fluffski2006 I wish every straight person including myself had to be gay for a day. Then maybe people would realize how retarded they are and stop making a big deal about something that doesn't matter. And then we could listen to Elton John in peace.

  • @PinkTheFloydable agreed

  • @PinkTheFloydable As Kurt Cobain said, "I wish I was gay, to piss off the homophobics".

  • @PinkTheFloydable

or black too...all hate needs to end

  • Comment removed

  • @Fluffski2006 Their insignificant ignorant children, ignore them. Some day when they grow up, should they ever grow up, and saw the comments they made they'd be embarrassed.

  • bellísima canción!!!!!!

  • I don't think this is live. I compared it to the original version and as it turns out, this IS the original version just turned the volume down. thanks for the video! :)

  • sounds just like the album doesnt it guys?

  • i would have loved to grow up during the 60's and 70's!!!! but im glad the music is still around!

  • Great song for a cool and breezy day. It's just Elton!

  • Great song for a cool and breezy day.

  • I wonder if people disliked this because he's gay... He's amazing either way I say.

  • @gman1225 Yes, it is too bad that there was such a reaction when he came out of the closet. It didn't bother me, I did and still do like his music.

  • this video just hits all the right notes and visuals. this is a one of a kind video. why so few views?

  • @TigBench6 um prob the lame lip sync ,,,gr8 tune

  • thanks for posting this beautiful video

  • You can tell its lip syncd- @3:32 he pulls a way a second two soon

  • to the people comparing Stevie and Elton John. They are two totally different styles so how can you say one is better? Both are equally as good at what they do.

  • Some of my earliest memories of my life are of hearing this song on the radio. My parents were also huge fans of his, and they bought all of his records. I heard Elton, Carole King, The Beatles, CCR, Neil Diamond and many others courtesy of WABC radio in New York, and my parents of course.

  • This brings me back : )

  • studio version,,,

  • Great song...but Stevie Wonder is greater.

  • well said, Nigga

  • fucking amerans

  • Him and Billy Joel are irreplaceable

  • so beautiful

  • great balled song.

  • wtf why are there only 13,111 views?, man i love this song, eltons voice is so beautiful. i guess some people have no taste in good music like this, or it could be because elton isn't new anymore and kids wanna listen to whatever bs mtv and the radio keep shoving down our throats now in days, but me i just puke it all back up, cause i'm still hungry for all the good and classic music, sir elton has an absolutely amazing voice. and he still does. i'm a rocket man and i always will.

  • just hits the spot man..

  • Haha... Is that a request? I will make you like him, alright? All I will bring to your lesson, a pair of shades!

  • Yes I don't like my age now! LOL But I did grow up and in the best part of my life the music was phenomenal, and I went to SO MANY GREAT concerts! Thanks

  • I agree. I don't like his modern variations with Rocket Man and most of his songs.

  • @adamsthegrimiest hes still amazing!

  • Why does his voice differ so much from 1972 to 1973. What happened?
