  • haha i love the canadian flag

  • you don't hear voices that sound this good live anymore..

  • 49 dislikes? Ha ha ha ha....morons!

  • The Guess Who were such a great band---and not only Burton Cummings' brilliant vocals. They understood that the music must be one part pop and one part attitude with important messages sprinkled throughout. And of course there's GARRY PETERSON on drums.

  • Is still a great singer!

  • burton cummings was a great singer,,no doubt!!

  • The Guess Who, legendary!!

  • Gotta analyse this song for a Grade 12 english assignment...definitely more to write about than in modern music! Love the Guess Who!

  • Nice :)

  • Burton Cummings has for decades been at the top of my list of the greatest rock vocalists. Listen to this guy's range, power and dynamic ability. There may be others that are about as good, but none better. I'm from Seattle USA, not Canada but I am Grateful for all the amazing Canadian musicians (been a Rush fanatic since 1976).

  • Proud to be from Winnipeg because of these guys.

  • listen to lil wayne right after this.

  • @Damien00011 why would you even metion lil wayne here looser

  • 黄金カナディアン・ロックの巨頭、ゲス・フー、佳作の"Share The Land"~男らしいカミンガスのヴォーカルがぐいぐいキタ━(゚∀゚)━!

  • The pride of Canada!

  • Proud to be from winnipeg...remember a jets game in the 90's when burton sang the anthem. How fortunate I was!

  • Awesome performance!

  • The Guess Who's Greatest Hits just came out and I was in 7th grade playing summer baseball all of 11 years old and discovering girls in a big way..loved every song on the album...Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman are such a team...Cummings has such a great voice...Glad to see the 2 have reconciled....

  • I love how theirs a Canadian Flag over the Piano that's just bad ass Canadian artist pride right there :)

  • @123benderson: BC did not want any mistake about where he is from. The song "American Woman" ain't about bitches from California, he's referring to the Statue of Liberty that represents the whole USA.

  • Don't you love us Canadian artists. Burton is amazing, and he will always be every time he performs.

  • I think your on to something somefreshgarbage.

  • I really wish there was more music made this this today. My generation needs to step up and take back whats ours, just like our parents protested and came together and there was a movement, thats what we need to do, pretty soon it'll be too late.

  • agent kellerman!!

  • It amazes me how tight these guys were! That's amazing! :)

  • Freedom of speech???

    Not in this forum.

  • @somefreshgarbage there IS NO MORE freedom of speech. funny, i was just thinking about this a few hours ago.

  • this song is not about individualistic morals...but about ...Living Together.... AS A WE...not a ME...get back to the 1940's.... I don't want anything from anyone, I just want to live within a society where ever one pays their own dues. No tax cut for those...hahaha...job creators...this description of the millionaires is a fabrication. They create nothing, but more wealth for themselves, while destroying our country...SHARE THE LAND...now means...SHARE THE WEALTH!

  • @somefreshgarbage What about 'We the People of the Untied States of America'?

We are individuals --and we can simply agree to disagree. It's a peaceful solution and we can still 'Share the Land' as well.

You don't have to loose your individuality to work together as a group.

Great video and song! Thanks for the post 69Lovett.

  • Freedom of speech...

  • I like freedom...

  • Just 4 dudes jamming but so sincere. This was a time when getting into the music biz was actual work not winning a contest or having the right look. And it was real & live! I've just recently started to get into this band again. This was some of the first music I was exposed to when I was 12 or 13. Thanks Jack! Remember Pep burgers & lime shakes!

  • Burt got pipe, and Randy got licks

  • Kurt Winter always played with his arms bare...never saw him with full sleeves. Must have been hard to come in behind Randy Bachman. RIP Kurt...I saw you live and you were spot on..

  • What I love is that many Rock bands back then could sound exactly like the record when they played live, so good that you'd swear it was lip-sync unless you paid attention to realize the little small nuances that gave it away as being live, and this song is not an easy song to pull off vocally either, much less musically. That's talent.

  • Not a weak link in the group

  • Most likely the best group to ever come out of Canada, The voice is so strong,

  • One of my all time favorite songs!!!

  • As a teen listening to this gem, I never realized how liberal the lyrics were. Now that I'm a grown up old guy conservative, I concentrate on the beauty of Burton's once in a generation voice.

  • @BradinPhilippines Wow! You know, I was just thinking the exact same thing! His voice does have

a certain tone that just sounds like it belongs to the seventies! Or maybe it's just that I first heard Burton Cummings when I was an impressionable kid in the 70's.I'll never forget stuff like Levi Superbells, Waffle Stomper shoes, "Keep On Truckin"" patches, gas lines, Blue Chip stamps,,STP stickers,16 oz.Coke for a 25 cents Schwinn Sting-Rays, Duncan Yo-Yo's, Pinball, Drive-in movies I miss it all

  • An actual live recording....of a band with all 5 members mic-ed for vocals. You don't see that very often, especially now days.

  • Too few people own ALL the land and like misbehaved, spoiled chidren they won't share!

  • One of the greatest rock vocalists of all time burton cummings! And one of the great gutarists randy bachman! This clip is so good, it really shows the great talent of this band! A great memory for me!

  • @1234weaselable Bachman isn't the guitarist featured on this song. He left the band by about mid-1970 and went on to form Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

  • They were outstanding. Every time I hear this I think of Viet Nam

  • Brilliant band.

  • Great band, great thought... however, ityll never happen....

  • Liberal lyrics.....didn't think about that when I was loving this song

  • this will be played on Heavens jukebox

  • this is sick! i love this song& video<3

  • Oh man!...thx for uploading...great!

  • Nice thought, but.. it didnt work out that way !

  • Great upload!

  • I love this song!!! These guys are REAL TALENTED Musicians! Reign of One DOT COM

  • Hey, this could be the theme song for the Wall Street protestors.

  • That voice is singularly expressive.

  • good times in so cal

  • Just got home from Massey Hall and Burton rocked the house - especially with this one. Geez, what an incredible talent....those vocals...what an incredible show! And he's 63?! We sure know how to make them in Canada eh!

  • Comment removed

  • This song makes me cry every time I hear it. Makes me think of heaven. I want this song played at my funeral when I die!

  • lovely!

  • Its not about Canada...Its about a great band..listen to that voice

  • Proud Canuck....

    TY Burton

  • after all these (OMG) decades, Burton Cummings is still very HOT....

  • Yes, it was in October of 1970 when TGW appeared on the Johnny Cash Show. I believe it was their first prime time appearance on US TV.

  • what a band and what power in burton cummins vocals. thier early work was the best music of the late 60's. and they always seem to have a strong message.

  • what a band and what power in burton cummins vocals. thier early work was the best music of the late 60's. and they always seem to have a strong message.

  • What an amazing voice eh?

  • I feel privileged to have been a youth growing up to this type of music. Still love it to this day. Pure originality. B>A.

  • just had to defend Burton singing stand tall,,,,,,this guy could have led the group into the Stones or..... ok, speculating....but they are impressice none the less

  • kickass bro,s...:)

  • I can't be 100% sure but I think Eric Clapton said if there was one rock voice he could have had it would be Burton Cummings' voice. Forgive me if i misquoted but either way when you here Burton sing there are few other as clear, strong and natural as his. One of the absolute best to this day.

  • @MunchySeedsGal wouldnt be surprised all

  • Songs of my youth. Thank you, Burton.

  • Fine drummer, that Garry Peterson. Never overplays but is just so efficient and crisp. Jazz influence is obvious when you hear him enough.

The guy could surely groove, like the rest of this great group. GREAT vid.

  • what a classic....long live the guess who

  • why is it when i searched for a lyric vid the only vids that popped up were a bass cover and fucking gay ass drake and eminem?

  • Great voice. Pretty good looking too.

  • prison break???? :)

  • WOW! Uno de los grandes exitos d este espectacular grupo canadiense una de mis favoritas canciones muy buena letra.dsd SAN JOSE BARQUISIMETO VENEZUELA..!

  • WORLDS GREATEST DRUM RISER

  • "44 people?" You have to be kidding me!

  • I wonder what show the band was performing on? So happy to see a well-filmed live performance!

  • @jrbaskind I believe it was "The Johnny Cash Show"

  • Best don't ever!

  • this kinda music is awesome. I always felt I was born about 10 years too late. I related to the style & passion of this genre.

  • this song is fucking wicked.......what a voice

  • 44 pendejos no saben de buena musica, yo creo que hay mas que no saben pero no votaron heheheh

  • thanks for posting! easily my favorite guess who song! and such a groovy background! Thanks again!

  • just awesome!

  • The meek shall inherit the earth.

  • Two guitars, bass, keys, vocals, and a simple, 4-piece drum kit. No Marshall stacks piled to the ceiling, or drums so "big" that you can't even see the drummer. What happened to the music?

  • The sad state of today's music hit me when I was in the magazine section at the supermarket today. I looked down and there staring at me, was a full magazine dedicated to that no-talent Katy Perry. No sooner do I look away from it in disgust when two teenage girls run up, grab the magazine, and start gawking over it! I SO WANTED to say something nasty.

  • My GOSH WHAT AN ENDING! That was so beautiful at the very end. Wish the studio recording ended like that instead of just fading out!

  • What a powerful voice. No one better than Burton Cummings. To bad we can't share the land

  • I'm "Laughing" at the 44 people who can't "Share the Land". May they all be "Undun".

  • @AnthonyT50 "These Eyes" have seen what you did here, and I must say: "Clap For The Wolfman"!

"So Long, Bannatyne"!, I have to meet an "American Woman" now and I have "No Time" to lose.

  • @AnthonyT50 boooooo! try harder!

  • @AnthonyT50 you certainly know what you are talkin' about. One of the most influential bands of their time.

  • I'm 13 and I've been raised on this music, new 'music' has no potential against true music like this.

  • Not only does he sound great but he looks great.

  • Just saw them live last weekend-- wow, what a great body of work.

Maybe the most explosive vocal power since Janis Joplin...

Songs as beautiful, powerful and relevant today as 40+ years ago.

    Now, THAT's music. :-)

  • I like this song better live. Thumbs up if you agree

  • Talented vocalist/composer! I want to go back, too...life was gooooood!

  • I miss this kind of music today

  • I miss this kind of music

  • No moustache Burt is weird to me.

  • Wow. This appears to be completely live, no overdubs or otherwise piped-in b.s. It's rare on TV in general, but almost NOBODY did it back then.

  • One of my favorites!

  • organila - united nations!

  • Outstanding, greatly talented performers/musicians!! Always loved Burton Cummings & The Guess Who since I was a young girl. Rock on!

  • @Brownsfan1946 wow!! You are right. Excuse my english cuz I'am a french Candian lady. Those years were the best of the best. Prince, BBKing, Creedence Clearwater Survival, Queen, Bad Company, Beattles, Dire Straights. Leonard Cohen, Backman Overdrive. Thanks people for your sharing what you love in music. Dédédétracké

  • @Brownsfan1946 You forgot to mention Zeppelin, Hendrix, Rolling Stones and The Who- all fantastic musicians. I was definitely born in the wrong era...

  • @Brownsfan1946 please dont spread this shit around, there are fucking enough videos with these horrid comments cluttering the comment boxes.... just get over it

  • Damit curtskates14, i'm 18 and i feel you man. Todays music doesn't have any backbone, any spirit, (not to mention 90% of it is a computer) any love, any balls, any enlightenment. When is the youth of this country gonna wake up and demand REAL music again. I say it's time we start this revolution!!

  • @Brownsfan1946 thats , why Im here , on you tube , building streetrods to the music russell bradford banks on fb

  • This is one fantastic song and group!

  • HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

  • I know a guy from Winnipeg, looks exactly like Burton in this video, is a musician, 30 years old, and doesn't know who his dad is......

  • Baby I'll be there to shake your hand, baby I'll be there to share the land....

  • @Mojave888

    its maybe not baby.

  • Canada has produced several of my favorite rock bands; pure, artistic, talents. Guess Who is one of them. Thank you from one of your southern neighbors.

  • @curtskates14 Good for you. Im 11

  • Hide & cover your mirrors before 3:32 ....you've been warned

  • Los gues who son lo maximooooo!!!! Viva Burton Cummings

  • Great song,great group....whatever happened to them?

  • @curtskates14 Just be lucky you have a generation that has easy access to music of all times.

  • Amen Brothers, Amen and Amen!

  • The best export from Canada, ever.

  • @curtskates14 i got you by ten years, and i feel the same.

  • 0:11-0:34 I love the opening :D

  • Great Band!! very good and more like a rock band than the Beatles who were more pop, and the drummer in this band could show Ringo starr a few things on how to liven up drum playing :) .. thanks for posting.

  • These guys are the Canadian Beatles ;)

  • Awesome! R.I.P. Kurt Winters!

  • burton is in a class his own

  • one if not the best

  • what a good singer burton cummings is - one of my favorite rock voices.

  • Beautiful!! I Love this group!!

  • back in 1969 /1970 we never missed the internet or you tube!

Since it wasn't around no one really cared!

  • One of the best live bands period.

  • I love the lead guitarist!

  • Awesome band very under-rated!

  • Get a Haircut, Hippy

  • @MegaSamB Hippie** :P And I'm sure he almost cut his hair, it happened just the other day. It was gettin' kinda long, he could have said it was in his way.- But he didn't and he wondered why. He wanted to let his freak flag fly, And I guess he felt like he owed it to someone.

  • So long ago.....but just like yesterday.

  • Why the hell can't I go back? I is homesick.

  • @professordumbledorf ....You have no idea what you missed. You could sit all night long and listen to music that really had a message and you could understand the words. The beat /rythmn kept your mind moving. Thank God above I was alive during this great music era.

  • @Forwillal I can still listen to all that music all night long. That's the beauty of recordings.....I am listening to it right now as a matter of fact. Music spans generations, not divide.

  • @pcburgh01 What can I say... we had the greatest music of all times...

  • @Forwillal What was on the radio, yes. The idea of popular music has changed significantly. That said, there are a lot of bands out there right now that can hold up to the Guess Who. Widespread Panic, Phish, Black Crowes, Pearl Jam, Moe., My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire......but yeah, I love the 60's early 70's. Great time for music.

  • @Forwillal This is your music.... do you think that in 20 years people will be listening to that or to the 60-70 era?

Bob Seger said it best... todays music ain't got the same soul...just give me that old time rock and roll..

  • @professordumbledorf take me with you!

  • Is this from the Johnny Cash Show?

  • The most underrated rock band ever...

  • @GraditudevsRevenge That's what I always say! I am only 25 but I had a young mom who played good music, if not for her I wouldn't appreciate this great band!

  • I am only 18 and I listen to this band...in fact. I live in Winnipeg and I am a part of a community jazz band on Bass. Our lead Trombone player is Bill Wallace, the second bass player to co-write songs with Burton Cummings. I tell you that hes a very uncredited musician.

  • @GraditudevsRevenge That is awesome! I remember my mom and I coloring together and listening to her Guess Who tapes.. or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.. good memories

  • @seonfox Love it! Im an old kinda Mom now but I WAS an 18 r old Mom when my Son was born.. I am thankful I had the chance to share GREAT music with him... Im still rockin.. LOL, Not in a chair!

  • @inatizzy2 LOL you are awesome!

  • what a great performance by The Guess Who

  • I always made sure this song was playing on the 8-track when I was drinking Ripple with a hot chick out on the hilltop. Well... Jimi Hendrix's *1983* too.
