  • composed in raag bhairavi, panakj mullick the composer of this song , this was saigal's last song & film my sister for new theaters.

  • This is one of the most popular songsof Kundanlalji almost everyday I. here this song .An outstanding song.

  • Absolutely legendry voice, K.L.Saigal Shb had a perfect voice for such melancholic Ghazals. He been worshipped and admired for that deep and smooky voice, my late father was a great admirer of Saigal shb.We had His Master's Voice grammaphone to play K.L. Saigal.

Many thanks for showing us this unique footage of late K.L. Saigal, mansoorn'' ji.

  • lafani awaz

  • All times GREAT Mr.K.L.Saigal

  • KLS Saab , why are you not born again ? Why are you angry with us. What have we done. Kyon mujh se khafa hai Tu?

  • Great song, may he rest in peace.

  • Saigal is IMMORTAL. The effect of touching sound in all type of songs with very little assistance from instruments is the hallmark of Saigal's singing. In the present times only Jagjit Singh is somewhere near in so far as Ghazal singing goes.

  • @sridevi479 I beg to differ. Nobody can come close to Saigal. In Ghazal singing Nobody an match Mehdi Hassan. Jagjit doesn't even come close!

  • @mansoorn SAIGAL SAAB is no doubt THE UNDISPUTED KING of SINGING. All type of songs which Saigal Saab has sung have divine touch. Ghazals sung by him are par excellent. As regards others...Pasand Apni Apni Khyal Apna Apna.

  • @mansoorn

You are so right, even close is too close for Jagjit :)

  • Really melodious, i remember my dad when ihear him.its touching there no singer like sehgalsab in current era

    hussain

  • Really melodious, i remember my dad when ihear him.its touching there no singer like sehgalsab in current era.

  • Yes, I would like to know also who wrote such painful verses addressing the creator.

  • Pl is there any body who can tell me the name of Poet of aye Katib e taqdir mujhay itna bata day. I will be very great full to you Thank you

  • And some think that we have no right to complain to God about some unjust misfortunes and happenings in life. Saigal died so young at the age of 43 and may be God wanted to listen to his superb singing for Himself. And, I am sure after listening this song God gave him the best afterlife treatment as a reward.

  • I think the great singers' single most important quality is that the words are sung so clearly like flowers of great color and smell coming out. Saigal had that quality and even singers in the 60s like Beatles had the same quality. Now, it is mostly noise with lots of superficial movements and action for the impact which actually is a complete distraction and is very tasteless to me.

  • I am 67 and my father died in 1998 at the age of 92. My father always said that the best male singer in India was Saigal. I remembered & recently read Saigal's bio and was surprised he was a Kashmiry and resembled my father in looks. My father's grandfather had migrated from Kashmir to Punjab also. So, I just searched on Saigal & was surprised at superb quality of his singing. My father was right. Saigal is the best male singer of all time esp. the sad ghazals. Sad that he died so young.

  • I have listened to this terrific song after a long time. What a great song. Though the style and the way of singing does not belong to my generation and does not appeal but the composition and the lyrics of this song and an-other gem of this singer "gham diye mustaqil" have made this artist a legend. So much so his death made these songs immortal. When ever we listen to these two particular songs, we often goes in to those memories in which his death being occurred.(24rth January 2011)

  • great song indeed

  • aansoo rokna na mumkin ho jata hai

  • what a golden song,30 years back when we used to miss a class even to share the rare music in those days.

  • He was much b4 my time but I remember my Dad forcing me to listen to his songs. I didnt like most. But today, I miss my Dad and his luv for Saighal has rekindled the luv for these songs. The words, lyrics had so much meaning n depth. The Music by Pankaj. Other singers Jag Mohan, Pankaj Mulick, Jyotika Roy, Beghum Akhtar, Noor Jehan, SD Burman. I wish there is a forum where these singers and thier songs are discussed.

I remember hearing Nashinas as a young handsome man singing Saigal's songs better than he sings now.

Age has finally caught up woyh him.

  • Thank you very much for bringing it originality.

  • The words and the voice both lodge themselves in the deepest recesses of one's soul. No music today can match such sublime art.

  • Excellent heart breaking lyrics. that penetrate deep into our heats with pain, with a plea to God.Why me?
