@drunyon214 Disagree...I think Fire Field is perfect for that. That song is so frightening and intense, perfect for that race. Port Town is more about determination and getting to that point.
@nastynate3163 I was never a big fan of Fire Field as a theme. That track was too repetitive for me. I can see Port Town working well if they played it when you raced on Fire Field.
@drunyon214 I see what you mean. This track kind of has an eerie sound in the beginning, like something really bad is coming, so I could see it working on Fire Field. I guess it's just a matter of taste. :-D
I see it as fitting more because it has such a climactic feel to it.
You've endured through nineteen of the galaxy's most difficult tracks, and you're about to take on the most complex of them all: a dusty strip of pavement that snakes through the monuments of a massive magma-covered planetoid. One wrong move could cost you the win, or even your life. And yet, with the right maneuvers, you can pull in front of the pack and become the galaxy's greatest racing champion. Perfect.
One of my favourite series from Nintendo; we gotta have a F-Zero Wii announced on the next E3! It would be great with music on that style, higher quality obviously (and not that eletronic music from GX), the game could be played with all controlers like in Brawl, and with no motion (it's not that great for F-Zero), and of course, a great online mode.
I tried to kill the other people so many times here when I was a kid. At that jump, I would turn around and ram into people and hope they fall. They never did though : (
I checked out the .SPC file for this, and the bass line in the beginning is just straight eighth notes. It just sounds busier because the bass drum is throwing in lots of syncopated sixteenths between those eighths. The last part of theme (before the song loops) has some sixteenth stutters on the bass, and that's the only part that's really difficult to play. Incidentally, Dragon Force is horseshit.
@puklop I used to play SNES F-Zero songs in my head while I run on the track when I was on the cross country team in high school. ESPECIALLY Port Town!
I'm disappointed they didn't but this song in SSBB. I love the Port Town theme a lot more than Mute City.

This song is so awesome... should have been the theme for the last race in the game.

God, I just love the part after 0:19
The chords and the baseline just really set it off! Check my video response to see how it sounds with selected instruments!

If you go to the gym put F-Zero music in your MP3 player. You will run for two hours without realizing it.

What game is that one from? I've only played the SNES, GBA, N64, and GameCube versions....and it's been a while...

GP Legend is the Gameboy Advance one.

OK, thanks...haven't played that since 2001, so that's why I don't remember it.

Actually, both Maximum Velocity and GP Legend is for GBA.
