The MD-11 actually was a McDonnell Douglas product, the modified DC-10.

You can use them in commercial planes! Problem is though that the airline is sort of liable for what you film (militairy targets etc) so a lot of airliners bann them

thats a firm. Its a md 11. The L-1011 was never upgraded with that kind of instrumentaion. At least that what ive heard an read. I love this movie.
