I really need your help. I tried to begin the same procedure. I ended up suffering a major panic attack at the initial cleaning and consultation and never went back. : (
You look absolutely beautiful and don't have to explain anyhing to anyone, dentist or otherwise! Dentists are in the business of making money, so of course they are going to push implants! The reality is that the majority of us can't afford implants and have to resolve the problem somehow!! I am 40 years old and about to go through the same thing. Watching your videos have really helped me to feel confident that I am doing the right thing. At the end of the day we all have to do what's best
Hi everyone first i wanna say great videos, very informative and reassuring , plus kalinjax you look absolutely fantastic and give me hope. I was wondering if anyone had any advice, last week i went to dentist and basically they said i had 7 missing teeth (most at the back) and receding jaw at the top and bottom 2 front teeth, they suggested pull the lot and use 8 implants and locators. I will get a 2nd opinion but would this seem the most probable solution. Anyway great vids.
Kristi, YAY you did another video..always look forward to them :) You do not glamorize dentures...what you do, is show people like me, that we are not alone, and that it will be ok. So as I said before, thank you for that. :)
glad yer doing so awesome! and with school too! It figures a dentist would target someone who's honest about dentures would say yer glamorizing dentures...lol...that's their mindset...instead of being concerned about you and your situation they are worried about their money...they have NO IDEA what it's like not to have the money to get premium dental treatment their whole life...they make so much money they don't really live in the same 'world' as middle or lower class peeps do...great vid! ty
Hi I had all my teeth pulled 13 days ago I now have immedeates I was wondering how long before I can eat again and I don't mean soup but maybe pizza or chicken I just recently started talking better that was horrible anyways I love all your videos maybe you can help me out bye xoxo
I didn't have "Denturesanewsmile". for support. I had to deal with it on my own. Don't worry about what others say, Darling. I recall, a week after I got mine, I was sitting on my motorcycle at a red light. I had a gagging moment. the uppers and lowers flew 1/2 way out of my mouth. I looked over at the car next to me with they hanging out of my mouth. The look on their face was priceless. I shoved them back in and gave them the "James Bond" look and drove off. lol Bryan
I love your channel. You are so right. I went to a dentist and it cost 12,000 to get me teeth in order. That was three years ago, and now I might need dentures. I. Wish that dentist would of told me my other options. For all that money. I could of got implants!!!!! And would you believe at my. Last appointment he made me pay first before going in the back to get my last crown on. Like I'm going to rip you off after paying you 11,000. Dollars over 3 months. My ex husband paid for the work, he is
I SO appreciate everyone's responses! I know no one else really assumed that because most of us are, or were, in the same boat. This just emphasizes the fact that a lot of dentists truly don't understand the complex situations everyday people go through when it comes to dental issues..... Thanks to all of you, you all are beyond awesome<3
Sounds to me that this dentist made an uneducated assumption. I have never once gotten the impression you are glamorizing dentures. I have only seen you explain your situation and all the trials and tribulations that went along with it. You are an inspiration to those seeking information on dentures and the process of making the decision. I would not let anyone make you feel like you are doing anything wrong
For people worried about no insurance our lack of money. Please look into Central Dental Center out of Wichita, Ks. I got my teeth extracted with immediate dentures for under $1,200.00 and get free adjustments.
Girl, you speak everything that is in my heart. This is a heartwrenching place to be. I emailed wth you before about how I went to several consultations and the estimates ran from 17,000 to 75,000 to rsto my teeth. But I so glad to say I hve FINALLY found someone who will help me. Thank you so much for your encouragment. Your videos have been such a blessing to me and I truely mean that<3
Hi, I have seen all your videos, more than once each...lol. You are an inspiration for me.
This new video..........
Oh my God... I totally identify myself with what you said about how expensive it is to get dental work done. I haven't done any dental work because of the lack money. I just recently applied for Medicaid, but even thou I have it, they don't pay for everything. I know I need to extract all the upper. On the lower I already have a partial. Just today I had a second opinion from a n
First let me also congratulate u on enrolling in a college program, I am very grateful that u had this channel. I searched for a while and agonized over my dentists decision that I had to lose all of my natural teeth. I know that because of ur words and attitude I found some light at the end of the tunnel. I know I made the right choice and have found new confidence in my interactions with people. I am most definetly smiling now! So regardless of the dislikers or the disgruntled I thank u.
I am in the process of getting dentures, so far its been a nightmare, dentist won't pull my teeth, an oral surgeon has to do it and he wants to do it in the hospital, he says in case of bleeding. I am going to the dentist for a 3rd impression, the lab keeps rejecting says they need better. Oh btw, the dental group is 60 miles round trip. My insurance only paid half of the dentures, oral surgeon is not covered, he is costing $7200 and then whatever the hospital is going to be..NIGHTMARE!!..
@bfreder check another dentist.. the first one I saw wanted to put me in hospital but the second one did it in her office.. also see about going to the lab that will make your dentures to do the impressions. I did and I won't even be seeing the dentist again.. everything will be done at the dental lab.. the only difference is I'll have to go toothless for 5 weeks which was my decision.. I could have had immediates if I wanted but decided against it. lab says better look and better fit that way
my dentist wanted to pull all my teeth out to save time, but i refused point blank there was nothing wrong with my bottom 8 teeth so i said no and i kept 6 teeth at the top i have a partical denture at the top, and i do feel better with my new teeth but as kali is right dentures does can cause probs like sore spots and loose at times,
dentists charge too much a lot of times.. they just charged me the same price per tooth to have a bunch removed as they would have to do one by it's self.. you'd think that doing a bunch in one visit, or if you paid cash up front like I did they'd be able to give you a bit of a break but no.. I paid about $20 per minute of chair time.. sure you have to go to college and all but c' mon.. $1200 an hour for pulling teeth?
Great video . Like the way you touched on both sides of the issues and comming to terms with the decisions one makes when entering into the realm of dentures or the possibilities of having to have them due to the extrodanary substantial cost of restoring a whole set of teeth that are posioning your body and wrecking havock on your health . You know its time when you feel the effects of rotting teeth and broken dental work . Its litterally a bio attack from the inside out . It was for me anyway
To me you have never Glamorized Dentures, Your only helping people who actually have no other choice but dentures helping them see they are not alone in it, and that things could be worse. you have done a great job, and thanks for all you do. It is appriciated :)
I don't think you are glamorizing dentures. You are providing valuable information to those who need help and are researching their options. By showing people your life and your own experiences it gives hope to those who are really stressing about life with dentures. Dentists are great and dental care is important but there are a lot of people that can't afford it. What are you supposed to do? I think you are doing a great job informing people. Keep up the good work!
I'm so HAPPY FOR YOU!!! Going back to school was a very WISE decision, and again, I'm very happy for you! It is something I chose to do a few years back, and if you think you're old HA!!! think again "baby", because I've got almost 20+ on you and can never be too old to go back. Lots of folks do it, especially in these days and times and while making career changes. So, good for you! Congratulations! Keep up the great work! You're awesome! Big hugs!

Where are you from and who did you go to? Cause yes. The times i have tried. The drs were not human or compassionate.

Wow! How do you do it? I used to take 2, maybe 3 classes per semester and even then, I'd repeatedly get put on academic probation.
