  • Hours (alright, three days) before 2012, I chance upon wonderful Michael paired with deeply rich New York Cheesecake, some of the most exciting music in infinity, and a lively black kitten.

    How could 2011 possibly close on a finer note?

    (When I was still in high school and finally got my driver's license, I soon found the restaurant that specialized in New York cheesecake. Certainly not as inviting, Michael, as yours, but pretty damned good for high school, eh?)

    I would say normal things..... easy dinner would be Stromboli... that is my 1st video

    More involved dinner would be .... Lamb Shanks

    My favorite dessert... Carrot Cake ... with Red Velvet Cake being a very strong 2nd choice.

  • @freitasex Wonderful. Cute kittens are wonderful to cuddle. They smell good and they are cute and cuddly. Sam is two years old and he is young but he is not a kitten. We got Sam in September. I have a picture of Oreo when she was a small kitten. Oreo is one year older than I am so she was 15 when she died. The picture was taken before I was born. I also like new real babies. I love to cuddle them and rock them.

  • I just finished making this, going to let it cool off, and then put in the fridge over night for Christmas Dinner tomorrow. I put some Huckleberry marbling into the top of the cheesecake before cooking it. I'll let you know how it was sometime. Perhaps later tomorrow night.

    What I would do is find a small pie plate and make a 1/4 recipe ... you will have 2 large servings that way.

    I would check it in the oven at 30 minutes to see if it is setting up and done.... just a little jiggly in the center is what you want.... I am not sure how long to bake it because I have never made a 1/4 recipe of this.

  • i was wondering if it would be possible to add a layer of chocolate or peanut butter. would you recommend just adding it to the top and letting it chill (like you did with the strawberry)? or adding it to the cheesecake mixture before baking?

    I think it would need to be added before baking ... like a swirl.

    I am "thinking about" making a peanut butter one.

    I did buy some more cream cheese just yesterday.... it may happen if I am not lazy.

    If you do not want to use orange juice, just leave the topping off.

    You can use a canned pie filling if you like to replace it or just leave the cheesecake plain.

  • I use Phili cream cheese. And as say to store cheesecake mix is.....often disgusting. I don't know why they...don't get...like a clue. Sane for store cakes and ice cream cakes. There frosting is often disgusting..un eddiable... ya know ya think someone tell them this.

  • Looks DELICIOUS!! Thank youuu!!  A little quick tip some people might find helpful - use the butter wrapper to rub on the inside of your tin before discarding it - saves you having to get the pastry brush out :)

  • I love cheesecake but I also love to keep my slim figure. Is there anyway to sacrifice some of the fats like sour cream and butter without sacrificing much of the taste? I saw one recipe using only cream cheese and and condensed milk.

    Why bother, you are not going to live for 200 or 450 years correct. Mostly it will be around 80 or something! My advice is just go ahead and eat it as it, and burn the fat!

    I am assuming that you are not going to eat cheesecake everyday ha ha ha

  • @supercooled The body needs some fat. If your going for low fat then you should also remove the crumbs from the bottom.

  • This cheesecake looks delicious I haven't tried making it yet, but with my experience making cheesecakes, I always end up with a cake that shrinks after it cools. How do you make sure the cake stays nice and tall(high) ????

    Honestly, I have never had one that shrank.

    I make sure all the ingredients are room temperature before I start making it, perhaps?

  • I followed your receipies to make cheesecake step by step. It came out very delecious, but I think I shouldn't cook it in a glass pan because it sticks in the bottom and it was hard for me to cut it into pieces. Thank you again for sharing your receipies .

  • Let it cook for 3 hours, then put into the refrigerator to cool over night... or at least 4 hours.

    You can use blueberry or cherry pie filling that you can buy in cans to top it!
