  • only me want to applause right after this man played it ?

    omg u're playing really great!

and don't pay attention on those people who downrated... i don't really think they can do better :D

  • Your covers are the best!

    greetings from brazil

  • looks like we'r all realing this song and we'r looking for advice or a vid for digitation or help :P

anyway, nice version i think is a little faster but is allright... thumbs up!

  • Damn

  • I love the picking in this song, I'm learning it now. Great job there!

  • awesome!!!!

  • Nice! Please also check out my version and leave me a message! Thanks!

  • very niice!! i just been practicing this song but i am doing it much slower as you are advising and its helps a lot :D

    keep up the great vids

  • hmm...left hand looks real easy, but the right looks real tough. Good job, sounds great! (and nice ending :) )

  • damn man, really good! i did drifting, check it out. and i'm learning this one.

  • great video, very well played, 5 stars.

  • amazing sounds just like origional

  • That was quite enjoyable, keep it up!

  • McKee uses harmonics more dexterously than anyone I've ever heard in this song.

This is a very solid cover of a meticulously-technical song. Nice work.

  • Hey man that was awesome! I just started learning how to play this song tonight, and I know I have a lot of practice ahead of me. You do a really good job at picking it just the way he does. I realized while I was watching you that if you didn't keep that thumb alternating between strings the song just wouldn't sound the same. I'm definitely going to use this as my reference if I get to a tough part.

  • Amazing job! Do you have any advice for someone who has played a few Andy McKee songs before, but is struggling learning this one? It's tough! I have a lot of respect for your talent!

  • Yeah. I have one bit of advice. Start reaaallllly slowly and work it up sloooowly. Your fingers'll get it after a while.

  • haha my names ou ray... pretty crazy but its true haha

  • lol you do good covers, man. you should doan ebon coast one, i know you could! currently learnin this for my girlfriend.. she loves andy mckee ever since i made her listen to his songs, she wants me to learn em all..

  • This song looks hard to play :(

    You're good!

  • Nice work! What a happy song!

  • hey great video!

i'm trying to learn this song but i've only gotten so far. would it be possible for you to not necessarily tab this but maybe just give me some of the base chords surrounding this song. If you can that would be awesome.

    Thanks, Matt.

  • Great job on this man! I'm learning this one now, hope i can do it as good as you.

  • Good job mate, keep it up :)

  • I'd just like to point out that this is the "Nocturne" version of the song. All you that are listening and judging from the new "Gates of Gnomeria" version, this isn't an adequate representation of that version. Andy steped up some phrasing and tempo in the new one.

  • Hi good job i am currently learning it , Do you use your thumb for strings 6,5 and 4, I dont know if this is the way andy may play it but i feel very compfortable using my thumb for just 6+5. Should i get into the habit of using it for 6, 5 and 4?lol

  • I just use what feels natural while I'm learning it. If something feels particularily hard to play, I'll try a different approach and hope that it ends up being easier. I'll have to watch my Nocturne VCD to see how Andy plays it. Never thought to actually do that!

  • @Elviolli thought it was a bit slower :) I love the natural harmonic bit :D

  • @BoCHaRDY no, i have the CD. This speed is about right.

  • Don't list to Esfimus man. This is an awesome cover. I'm thinking about putting my own cover of this on sometime soon, so I'll let you know when it's on. Your other covers of Andy McKee are lookin great too.

  • Good stuff =D the was really cool. Andy McKee's is always tricky but you played it really well. Did anyone tell you, you look a bit like Clapton?

  • You think so? I thought it wasn't too bad. Let's see you do one. I'd love to see someone else cover this one because so far this is the only cover I know of on youtube.

  • tune it

  • Yeah, well I really need to concentrate to pull this stuff off. I haven't been playing acoustic guitar for years and years. Maybe one day I will start :)

  • maybe the only real thing andy has on you is that he smiles more often

  • Umm, it's right in the title of the video...Ouray.

  • As I recall, Ouray is a city in the Colorado mountains.

  • Indeed it is.

  • whats the name of this song?

  • fuck shit cunt. that was so good i have to curse. good job.

  • Excellent cover. I've just bought and been working on the set that has Rylynn and this song. It's a great group of songs. Mckee is incredible!

  • good to see someone doing a cover other than drifting or for my father! look out for my new video's of when she cries and heather's song coming soon

  • haha thas cause those are the only two that are free onlione..

  • Nicely done ...keeep at it...We need more acoustic guitar videos like this

  • Great job , I just got done learning Drifting and trying to learn Rylynn. Most of andys songs if you have the first part down you have the rest.

  • Very nice

  • This is such fantastic work, I can't even believe it.

Do you know if this song is available anywhere? I think its out of print on Andy's site.
