  • @TheBrunnerX Brady Quinn on the other hand.....

  • We didn't stand a chance that game, but I love Lou's optimism!! Go Irish.

  • I just knew Notre Dame couldnt win this game they never executed for 60 minuted there defense could not keep up and knew LSU would win comfortably

  • I wish we still had Bo Pelini as a D-Coordinator. We should still him from Nebraska. GEAUX TIGERS

  • @chiefs816kc chief brah

  • God Damn I hate Lou Holtz he never give LSU credit.

  • ha ha LSU KILLED NOTRE DAME ...I SAID THEY SHOULD JUST STAY IN SOUTH BEND CUZ THEY HAD NO CHANCE AGAINST MY TIGERS....ALOT OF PPL SAID THAT..LOOK AT THIS VIDEO

  • Dude killed me when he said he wouldn't wanna play LSU if he were the Indianapolis Colts lmao. LSU geaux Tigers.

  • lol i'm an irish fan and that was the year my colts won the super bowl. that was funny when lee corso said that. haha go colts!!

  • LOL I know, that's why it's so funny to me, cause he's basically saying LSU is so good, even a team that won the super bowl wouldn't wanna play against them lol. The Colts is my second favorite team after the Saints of course. I'm from the boot so I gotta represent for Louisiana, geaux Saints, geaux Tigers. But yalls qb is from the boot, so I got love for the Colts too.

  • my sister used to live in new orleans louisiana for a while. before hurricane katrina hit and then she moved back to south bend. no she is not a sports fan.

  • I'm not a sports fan either. I'm a girl, not that that matters. But I generally can care less about sports, but I try to support the Louisiana teams. My daddy and my brother would have a fit if I were to root against the Louisiana "home" teams lol. They get caught up in all that stuff. We're not even from New Orleans, we're from Monroe, but it's still Louisiana so it's all love.

  • hey dxnlnd: Lou Holtz is an idiot. Yeah right! one of the best coaches at notre dame of all time. personally i think your an idiot

  • we should've been in the national championship that year...not florida

  • well i'm a notre dame fan and every time i hear "we should've went to th national championship" that reminds me to tell people we need a playoff system in ncaa football. u don't know whos the best in ncaa football unless u get a playoff system.

  • Lou Holtz is an idiot....

  • the way i look at it lee corso is right i wouldnt want to play the 2006 or the 2007 lsu teams if i was the colts heck or the patriots

  • HAHAHA notre dame would have won?!?! are you shitting me. Notre Lame never had a fuggin shot. Not one single solitary chance of winning that game. Lsu stomped their overrated ass.

  • Exactly..

  • lol i hope you dont really believe this.

  • hey sport, I hate to break it to you, but ND lost due to inferior talent and inferior coaching. LSU's wide receivers were open on every single play.

  • Then what's your excuse when they lose to Navy and UConn at home?

  • That would've been a good matchup...Colts vs LSU in 06'.

  • Notre Dame's rigid academic standards turn a lot of recruits away. Basically nearly 75% of the best recruits don't have the grades. I remember when Lou Holtz wanted Randy Moss who had been dismissed from FSU, but Moss didn't have the grades. Part of that frustration led to Holtz retiring. If ND wants to compete in the football world now, they need to either lower their academic standards which would be sad and they shouldn't do, or just keep being a middle of the pack team.

  • I really think that the 2006 lsu tigers are better then the 2007 tigers who won the whole thing

  • Your right... the only thing the champion tigers had better than the 06 team was leadership and a better (most of the time) decision maker under center, other than that your right, the 06 team had the nation's best set of wide receivers, top 3 defensive line, top 3 secondary with the best safety at the time in leon landry, as well as having the biggest arm in the nation with jamarcus.

  • 2006 might have been the best LSU team ever from a talent perspective. The 07 team managed to get some breaks to get to the national title game. Pitt beating WVU was a freakin' God-send.

  • Go irish

  • Lou Holtz is getting senile.

  • fuck ND

  • Notre Dame has not recruited well in Weis era. People forget that Willingham recruited Quinn. With Notre Dame's schedule, they will have difficulty getting over the top. How many people are going to choose South Bend over Southern Cal or Florida, or LSU? There is no reason to do so.

  • ya totally because baton rouge is such a fucking vacation destination.hahaha

  • Actually there is a lot to do in that town.People can get pissed all they want, but Notre Dame is not a football power. They will pay the price for years of arrogance and poor recruiting.

  • I wouldn't choose South Bend over South Florida!

ND is still too highly rated at not being rated at all.

  • haha, good to see we're finally getting some well-deserved respect. but lou holtz can choke on his own fucking stupidity. that old bitch is always wrong. he's always hating on lsu and riding notre dame's dick. fuck him. 41-14 you faggot.

  • mark may sounds like the dinosaur from toy story

  • "I wouldn't want to play LSU if i were the Indianapolis Colts..." HAHA Damn Straight. LSU National Champs 2007 just you wait. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

  • wait wait WAIT....u got a damn good team comin to town the second week of the season.......its a little early to be sayin national champs 07.....Go Hokies!!!!

  • You were saying?

  • lil late now

  • hey- lay off Lou- great coach and notre dame would of won with him at the whistle...

  • lou holtz doesnt no shit, "shshsh shish shish shish notre dame, shish sish." he talks like he has spit in his mouth, hes clueless, he nos nothing about football. he only chooses ND and south carolina to win everything. what a homer. he should retire that old fart.

  • The one thing where I do agree with the detractors of the SEC is that the teams rarely travel away from home. Tennessee and LSU are some of the few who have. (Tenn plays Cal on the road in the opener, LSU has gone to Va Tech and Arizona/Arizona St. the last few years)

  • ND got curp stomped, good call holtz

  • THAT LAST NEWS GUY KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT, Notre Dame had no chance in hell of winning that game, it was almost embarrassing for LSU that they even had to play them, THE FIGHTING IRISH were just terrible, GEAUX TIGERS!!!

  • The reason SEC teams don't go across the country to play games is because they don't have to look very far to find solid competition - unlike the West Coast. I mean, why would Florida travel 2000 miles when they could play FSU or Miami?

  • "why would Florida travel 2000 miles when they could play FSU or Miami?" FSU and UM have been down the last 5 years and everyone knows it. Yes the SEC has great teams but there isn't that much difference in the top level teams. Look at the bowl games and every year Big 10 teams beat SEC and the other way around. And they are always played in the south

  • The WAC-10 is just garbage, and USC doesn't have to travel anywhere because they lost to UCLA and Oregon ST.

Overhype and no heart creates an environment that breeds flawed success, ask Ohio St.

  • Creates an enviroment like the Sugar Dome right ? Leave the bayou if you have so much heart. I'm not gonna argue the SEC has some great teams/talent/fans etc.. but thinking they are the end all be all is just insane imo. We will never agree so lets agree to disagree and hope that fall comes quick. Best of luck. Gueuxxx Tigers

  • First of all, don't get it twisted--I am a Michigan fan, but I am from Alabama, so the SEC is in my blood.

That being said, Lou Holtz needed to be fired for thinking ND stood a punchers chance against LSU, and they can play in Hell and LSU wins by double digits.

ND was just overrated, and OSU has no excuses because UF was just better than them.

  • we are a better team even though the fiesta bowl was wacked

  • What?

Oklahoma lost to an overrated team on a trick play, and although they should have blown Boise State out, they kept it close, and it turned out to be a pretty bad deal for the Sooners.

They need not schedule a team that has trick plays in their scheme at all because they will probably lose it!

  • and if Florida is so big and bad every year please tell me when the have left the Southeast in the LAST 30 years to play a road game?? Never play up north, never come to Cali to play? USC walked into Auburn and Arkansas and beat them both easily. Texas goes to Ohio State and vise versa, USC goes on the road to the SEC, Big12 this year. Ohio State goes to Miami next year and USC. Please let me know who UF and Auburn are going to play out of conference before you start bashing USC's schedule.

  • Coming to Cali means absolutely nothing to anyone in the SEC.

Ask these other teams why they schedule Miss. St., or Vanderbilt, just to get some SEC cred on their schedule!

Playing up North means jack, because OSU played 1 good team all year (Michigan) before Florida and got their as&es whipped!

Don't even say Texas was good without VY, so enough with the excuses.

  • lou holtz doesnt no anything

  • "i wouldnt wanna play LSU even if i was the colts" damn fuckin right! hell yea!!!

  • lmao, Lou Holtz dominates himself everytime it comes to Notre Dame. He should know by now that there are no more Rocket Ishmail, no more Tim Brown, no more Julius Jones, no more ND period. He has lived their glory days for them.

  • Good ol' Lou. You can always count on him to root for ND no matter how absurd haha. Lee Corso is da man lol.

  • Think Lou Holtz is a little bias? :)

  • I have to agree with most of the comments on here. ND is overrated most of the time and has been for the past few years, even when Willingham was the coach. When Weisz took over, most people acted as if ND was going to win the Natl Champ, but Weisz can't cover receivers, block DE, and give ND speed at the linebacker positions. They really had no business being in the Sugar Bowl to begin with. Rutgers would have been a much better matchup.

  • Rutgers wouldn't have had a chance in Iraq against LSU, so that might be a little far to go.

ND is just not a good team because they have practice games against the Service Academy teams, and when someone good plays them they freeze like Ice.

Tom Brady played for Michigan and not ND, so people need to get off this ND bandwagon, because they are done for with Claussen!

  • Honestly, there isn't much good you can say about ND. They have some good players, and might have a good record, but whenever they have played an elite team since Weiss has been there, they've lost. They lost the close one to USC, where everyone though ND was going to be legit, then get beat down by OSU in the Bowl. The next year, Michigan and USC whoop them. ND is a fraud. Put a more deserving team in that game, so the fans could watch a competitive football game.

  • I couldn't agree more. FRAUD. Now they have they have this egotistical-monster Clausen we will see it ALL again in a few months. They will be portrayed as an elite team whereas they shouldn't be in the Top-25 in any pole.

  • That is about as accurate as I have heard a statement said before the season so far.

Claussen has no chance with that team, and ND should have about 3 or 4 losses this year.

    They really suck!

  • For once Lee Corso is exactly right

  • Irran5, I couldn't have said it better myself. Honestly, if you look at the numbers the SEC usually wins more of its bowl games than any other conference year in and year out. The numbers don't lie and that's why the bigwigs (cough cough Jim Delany cough cough) don't want to see a playoff. If there were a playoff with the top 16 teams getting in, the SEC would probably send 7 teams every year and they would simply bitchslap teams like USC, UMich, OSU, and Notre Dame.

  • come on now jack.. Did you see USC destroy Arkansas and Auburn the last two years. They played at Arkansas and Auburn and killed em. I'm not a USC fan but you can't say anyone would slap them around

  • USC wouldn't play Arkansas or Auburn right now, and I live in Alabama, but I am a Michigan fan.

USC knows not to schedule and SEC team that is halfway good anyway, and neither would any other team with common sense.

  • USC wouldn't schedule Florida, Auburn, or LSU this year unless it was a typo.

The SEC is the dominant conference in CFB, and I will say that LSU was probably better than UF last year, because they would have raped OSU as well!

I am not 1 for excuses, but if McFadden was healthy, and up to speed USC would have been in trouble, so let them play SEC teams constantly-and we'll see them in the Outback Bowl!

  • I disagree. Mcfadden doesnt play defense. Mcfadden was healthy and they couldn't beat Wisconsin let alone USC. Look at the draft, USC has the talent plaine and simple. USC is 4-0 in its last four SEC games. When was the last time. If LSU is so good why didn't they win all their games? They lost all their tough games. Outback is always SEC vs. BigTen. A game where the Big Ten Penn State beat the SEC Tennessee

  • Why didn't USC , or Notre Dame win all of their games.

I guarantee LSU wouldn't have lost to Oregon St. or UCLA.

USC won't play Florida, or LSU right now because Pete Carroll knows better than to do so.

Don't hate on the SEC because the top 2 teams in the Nation last year were from the SEC!

Ask Tressel and Mr. Patriot Charlie Weis.

  • ok, LSU scored 3 points on Auburn. Auburn a team that lost to an awful UGA and barely hung with Nebraska. Take a look at USC out of conference schedule and then look at every SEC school. Doesn't look like the SEC will play anyone. USC can't play UF becuase they NEVER leave the south to play. Find me the last game they played on the road outside the SEC states and you win the argument. FLORIDA is the school that won't play. USC plays anyone. They have the top talent. Ask the NFL

  • They can come to UF to play!

As far as the NFL, how many MVP's have the WAC-10 won in the past 5 years.

Try 3 of 4 NFL MVP'S in Manning(2), and Alexander(1) so USC needs to schedule teams that are great in the season, like Michigan, or LSU, or even Louisville, but face it--the SEC runs it, and you all know it, so let's go off all the Bowl Games, including BCS bowls.

  • Florida would never be able to handle USC, Florida isn't that great of a program, and Florida never wants to play anybody, USC is more dominant and a much better program than Florida is

  • I hope that USC finally gets an SEC team in the Rose Bowl, so they can get beat up like they did last year against Stanford, but it won't come down to a last second play either.

UF won't beat Bama, but hopefully Ga., or UF can get USC so all this goes to rest, but knowing the higher-ups, they will give Penn St. to USC as opposed to an SEC opponent.

  • ahahah no i seriously doubt the game would be a blow out either way, both coaches do a nice job of preparing for big games, i just think if a bowl game was in the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum, USC has the edge, while in the Orange Bowl or Gainesville, Florida has the edge, both teams have lost this year to subpar teams, but they are probably still the best in the nation regardless of rank

  • By the time SEC teams play in the Bowl Games they are already beaten up, and that is not an excuse, but let some of these teams play SEC teams year-round.

Why didn't USC play that 04' Auburn team since they were so great, and Oklahoma was a gimme in the Title Game.

Face the facts that the SEC runs the show!

  • ?? USC didn't choose their bowl matchup. Schedules for EVERY team are made 5-9 years in advance. Auburn had two shots at USC and got smacked twice. So did Arkansas. For someone "that doesn't like making excuses" you sure make a lot. Coming to the "sec" doesn't mean anything to anyone out west.

  • Yeah. It's a shame that the 6 of the trillest teams in College Football have to beat the crap out of each other every year and hate on each other for a National Championship.

  • If there was a playoff in college... the SEC would the National Championship 8 out of every 10 years

  • lol...for once ESPN got it right

    GEAUX TIGERS!

  • I guess Corso was right about this one!

    Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • LOLZ! 2:53.

I could've sworn I heard a "Notre Dick" slip. LOLZ!

  • Lsu just scored again!! N.D. blows!

  • Notre Dame DOES suck! They have played 3 good teams all year and got killed all three times.

That being said....Mark May sucks monkey nuts

  • Im so glad other people realize what a duche bag mark may is, his predicted national championship at the begining of the year was Iowa and Cal, and his national champion was Cal, great picks Mark. And even though your in the college football hall of fame, that does not mean you are worth shit for a commentator

  • mark may is the biggest idiot announcer in the history of football...he needs to get off the dick of usc and what ever faggot ass college he played for and watch a game or two...he hates ND, he hates OSU...he cant stand teams that win....the irish will have a narrow escape but will the sugar bowl by 3....you tell them lou!!! GOOO IIIRRRIISSHHH!!! BEEAAATTT TIIIGGEERRRSS!!!

  • Damn great prediction. BTW the award for biggest moron analyst in college football goes to Trev Alberts.

  • god i hope the tigers crush the irish. the only reason they got a bowl was because of their elite status. every team they have played with decent tallent has wooped them and MSU and UCLA should have beat them.

  • amen to that. and congrats to the broncos! beating the sooners - especially that way - awesome!

  • So what are they trying to say, that Notre Dame should not even show up?

  • And they were right.

  • wouldnt have changed much rofl.

  • Basically!

  • Mark May can suck my balls. GOOOOOO IRISH BEEEEAAAAT TIGERS!

  • Mark May is a fuckin player(notre dame) hater. ive never heard that dusch say a good thing about the gold and blue

  • Larry, who is Mark...?

Lou is right that there will be plenty of ND fans. But Courso is absolutely right, and I am living in Indy!

    Geaux Tigers! (LSU 1994, 1998)

    Don

  • "I would not want to play LSU if I was the Indiapolis Colts."

    Courso gets it.

  • lol...that shit was so funny...

  • go lou! tell'em!

    ps mark may, fuck you!

  • notre dame is gay.
