So sorry for you who think the afterlife isn't real. you have no hope for anything when you die, just death, and then nothing. I however, am gonna in that afterlife with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gave His life because He loved us. I'll pray for all non believers
I have not idea how many times I played this at funerals when I was a young girl. I can hardly hear it now without crying. My aunts and uncles, all gone.
This song my neighbor played mostly on Sunday mornings. Now when i hear it it i remember my grand parents, that past on. Hope to see them in heaven. many thanks.
Ernst810 thanks a million for posting this song.I lost my eldest sister exactly two months ago. But again, this song really blessed my heart. God bless you. from Debbie in Nigeria
beautiful song ... I believe she is singing it in the key of G (for trumpet) if you wish to play along .... a trumpet with a steel guitar? ha ha, it ain't bad!
UMMMMMMM.......excuse me tbirdtim not to be rude but the composer is my great grandfather and his name is Albert E. Brumley not Alferd sorry and yes Tom Brumley is his son and is also my grandfather and he passed away on February 3, 2009 i will miss him terribly but not he is back with his dad!!!!!
Composer Alfred Brumley had a son named Tom. This same Tom Brumley was Buck Owens steel guitar player throughout the late 60s, and then he jumped ship to join Rick Nelson and his Stone Canyon Band in 70s.
Excuse me Gregg, but I read her GREAT Autobiography and she said that she attended The De Coursey Baptist Church in Dry Ridge. I've tried looking it up but it doesn't seem to be in existence now. Skeeter was GREAT !!!
i grew up listening to her music, so inspiring that i just thought may b i could listen on you tube, lo'n behold, someone good uploaded her music- absolutely inspiring and rekindles the blessed hope of seeing Jesus one day soon.
Everything this LOVELY Woman sings is "AWESOME"! Skeeter Davis is one of the GREATEST Female Vocalists of ALL time, not to mention, one of the KINDEST and most WONDERFUL Women to ever walk this Earth !!!
Wow my mom said the same thing, she grew up listening to this album when she was a little kid in Jamaica. Shes 48 now. We use to have this record but my brother were playing one day and broke it in the early 90's, since then we been trying to find it. It would be nice if someone can upload all the songs. I was only able to find 5 songs on the internet.
Fantastic! Good to hear it again. WOW x

So sad! And just think, the afterlife isn't real, so you won't actually meet them in the morning! Great song nonetheless.

@ohlordbabyjesus ::: Not real? Get up to date. Kubler-Ross and others who study NDEs are convinced of the reality of this continuation of life.

Why show the sheet music when they don't even come close to singing what was originally written?

Its a good observation. Probably the author was not as meticulous as you or I would be but it looks nice, which is likely the intended effect.

So true. Also, Tom passed away about a month ago. I can see him in heaven with his steel guitar kicking out some heavenly tunes.
