  • George Gershwin 1943.... And here I though they were playing a terrible joke on him when they buried him in 1939

  • hot damn Gershwin is the man

  • Why does it say George Gershwin 1943 at 0:05? He died in 1937!

  • i got really interested in this since my music techr told me about it

  • 1 dislike...Apparently Justin Bieber finally realized he doesnt have rhythm

  • This was filmed in 1943??? Oh my god...the only logical conclusion is....GERSHWIN IS A ZOMBIE!!!!

  • who the hell would dislike something like this?

  • 16mmDJ:

Too bad it says 1934, not 1943.

  • i love how it says this was in 1943, when he died in '37

  • A nice peek into the past. There was less baggage and more expression.

  • Genius

  • where can i get that album? :-)

  • Best pianist. IN the world. Ever.

I have an album called gershwin plays gershwin. I actually thought it was a duet act before I watched this. He works wonders with both hands! If you listen to it, you think how he can possibly manage it...

  • omg I have that album too! and I thought exactly the same thing until I saw this... isn't he AMAZING.

  • its fantastic, seriously if you listen without watching the video, you still think there HAS to be someone else until you look..

  • I have that one too!!!

OMG He plays it soo soo SOO BRILLIANTLY!!!!

  • he is amazing that peice is so hard

  • dummy!!!!!!!!! he died in 39 of brain tumor!!

  • @doratheexploreraddic He actually died at 38 in 1937 but to get mere dates wrong does not make you a dummy, it just means you looked up a faulty source.

  • It was who could ask for anything more lolz

  • It couldn't be 1943 guys... Jacob(George) died in 1937.

  • According to the video of this that I have, it was recorded in 1931.

  • Wow. What amazing technique!

He and Rachmaninoff are probably, technically, the two best pianists that we have any surviving recordings of.

  • Great

  • Man was a genius! Love his compositions!
