Amazing sound... the reverb is haunting. Couldn't imagine how awesome it would sound with a backbeat, some coldwave synths, and a singer... maybe some piano for the higher tones as well.
"The example I'm gonna play today sounds a bit like this, so the example I'm gonna show you today sounds like this." What the heck, why did you repeat yourself in the beginning? Funny stuff, lol.
Great lesson Corey. I've been watching your videos for over a year. Good stuff!
Great video Corey. As I have said before there is no one else on the Internet teaching atmospheric Gothic Guitar. I absolutely love these videos. This is the music that I love. This type of Guitar playing is very unique and has largely been forgotten over the last twenty years which is a great shame. Its really beautiful and epic guitar music.
I havent heard of any those bands. I will look into them. The point I was making that in general these sounds were popular in alternative music in the eighties and could be heard on a regular basis. I have definitely not heard this sound on radio or television in about twenty years. Most indie bands that I hear nowadays seem very mediocre in their guitar playing.
This guitar sound is good even if I take it

There were also bands in the 90s with the same guitar sound. Don't forget Love Spirals Downwards, Trance to the Sun, Siddal or Autumn's Grey Solace.
