I used to sing in this choir which I am very proud of!! Though I did not participate in this particular competition but I was at the EGP in 2000 which we won. We sang this Vocalizzo then also... It is one of my favourites. God, I'm so surprised to see this video on YouTube
What a world we live in that I can view and listen to these amazing voices half a world away and still be moved deeply by the experience. YouTube and similar sites have taken what was once a temporally fleeting art and made it a lasting moment captured in time. Thank you singers for dedicating so much time adn effort. Thank you director for dedicating your life to this lovely art.
Miss you, angels, and love you very much!! The most wonderful and touching time for me was when I sang in this choir....and since then life is beautiful...because music lives in me. I thank my parents, my teachers, maestro and my friends for making that experience come true :-)

what??im not asking about their colors,im just wondering how come a boy is in the group.....i know there's a boys choir, where all boys are trebels...im not that stupid
I see 3 boys in this choir,I guess it is not because the conductor don't like boy' voice, maybe it is because in some country(culture) singing is considered a girl's thing ,while boys may more prefer to sport activity~
In Taiwan ,I see most children choir girls are the same more outnumbered boys for cultural reasons~

You've all done such a wonderful job. The sound is very mature. Some of the singers look quite young, but I would never guess that from an audio recording. Very beautiful. I've listened to this performance many times already, plan to many more times. Good work.
I sing in this chorus, so it is very pleasant to me to hear and to read all those positive comentaries, what you all write for us here! Thanks you very mutch!!!!I realy love you!!!
What I am trying to say that it is nearly impossible to compare children with adults, a 20 membered chamber choir with a 55 membered huge mixed choir...music is a mission and we are for to make the world better. Competitions are not worth arguments :-)
CantemusHungary, I guess the judges set fair criteria between children and adult choirs, like, degree of difficulty in relation to their age. Still, children choirs have chances to beat the adult ones if they have sung relatively difficult pieces perfectly.
A good example is that when your group won as champion in the Musica Sacra category of the 2002 Busan Choir Olympics and you beat several adult choirs, including our group. c",)
Last year we participated with our children's Choir (CANTEMUS) in Tolosa at the EGP and were beaten by casting vote by an american mixed choir. This year we put out our best by our mixed choir (CANTEMUS) at the EGP and again did not win. However our girls choir already won an EGP in 1996.
To me the Vesna choir was the toughest challenge for the Philippine Madrigal singers. How can you compete against angelic voices like these? Put MADZ and Vesna together and boy that would be like music in Heaven.
many times i listened to this piece, i alway had goosebumps...really beautiful..heavenly...what else can i can say...they are really good... they are one of the children's choir i look up to... like the vienna children's choir... they performed so good. Although, our very own MADz undeniably won the EGP2007, yet the vesna also deserves an applause and standing ovation for the very oustanding performance...
My GOODNESS! amazing sound! this children's choir does'nt sound like a children's choir! Vert flawless! Angelic voices! so wonderful! nope you could also visit manila someday! Vcyevo dobrava!
i guess the judges went for the overall performance, methinks all the choirs had good technical skills, seems flawless, guess the hearts won for the madz...
beautiful! Peace out tayo! hehe un nga lang nasa history na ang Madz buti i know na mahirap na competitor sila!both madz and this russian choir ang nanalo sa Floriege yun nga lang grand prix again ang madz kaya history never repeats itself! MILESTONE NA ANG MADZ! thanks for uploading this competition kuanchien!
this choir sounded so good! like angels... however, philippine madrigal singers is the best! it is a very tough competition. i'm very glad they won the second time besting this russian choir. i am proud to be a filipino.

You should know this choir won the EGP in 2000. All the girls cried out when they heard Madz won the EGP. They rehearsal everyday for two or three hours. And we Taipei Chamber Singers only rehearsal once a week in Sunday night for two hours.
kuangchien, please don't talk about things you don't know about. Vesna choir has reheasels only twice a week. The rest of time children have piano and other lessons but not choir singing.
I think, girls cryed, because they'd very tired and impressed. Don't forget: they are only children. And I agree with SingerFather: children has reheasels only twice a week. And you are all adult people, and Vesna - all are the children. I song in Vesna many years ago and I worked in Vesna for 8 years, I know what I say about.
Actually you just don't know what you're talking about. Everyday for 2 or 3 hours? are you kiddin'? they are pupils and 're busy with their homework. they are not professionals but only children who study in music school and sing time to time/

how come there's only one boy within their group?
tonyhawk2235870 2 years ago
i think boys will come up with a really different colours than those girls out there
if you happen to hear boys choirs, many of them have distinct color from girls choir of their age
for a reference, vienna boys choir
maybe the conductor doesn't like boys' color too much
(sorry for the wrong grammar)

oh sorry, i think i didn't get your question right...
i meant that maybe the music director do not like boy's color
that's why there is "only one boy", not as many as the other choir
it refers to the conductor's style and preferences
in simple, the conductor likes to have girls' voice instead of boys'
am i wrong, again ?
sorry if i do

Repertoire is another factor. If the group presented a variety and non-monotonous list of songs, then it may have chances of winning.
