It's weird that Scientology is against psychology as well as psychiatry, since I have a friend who is a Scientologist and she also is a graduated psychologist (clinical psychology). She graduated at a state-run university here in town. She recently moved to São Paulo maybe to be closer to Scientology HQs in Brazil.

Yeah, Sept. 11th is a big date in history. I don't so much observe those that died as much as those who lived, since on 9/11/01 a classmate of mine was having a mini-birthday party that day. One point though - ALL religions are, at a fundamental level, exclusive - Christians would tell you that you have to be "born again" - Catholics, that you have to be a Catholic - Muslims - a Muslim. "Tolerance", per se, is a humanist concept, born of a socialist ideology. Scientology preaches a similar gospel to Hinduism - all faiths are included - which is obviously not true.

one of the most insulting things anyone has ever said to me was that my ADD wasn't real and I just was lazy. I got off Ritalin at 18 after I lost my medical insurance. I couldn't function, couldn't hold a job. Now I'm on strattera and because of which I'm able to function and have a full on conversation without loosing sight of the topic and keep my job. Something Scientology could *never* do.

I grew up a Ritolin-Kid (and I didn't need the pills afterall I later found out) and I hated it, however I do agree that there ARE kids that DO need meds.

I *DEFINITELY* needed the meds when I was a kid. Once I hit puberty and matured, I was able to get off the meds and learn to control myself. But until then, without Ritalin, I was completely unmanageable.
