  • Isn't he clever trying find out what they can get away with in inserting their religion into science. "If we frame this clearly religious concept in this way, would you let us do that?" NO, religion doesn't belong in science so stop trying to find an angle to stick it in there!

  • Yes old, dumb mu^$&fu*(ker. We discuss science in science class. What don't you get about that?

  • @pandorachild You bring up an interesting point, I have noticed that most mainstream stoner movies are obsessed with fast food, probably because its easy nd cheap but maybe thats a culture thing. In NZ its all about curing your Dry's and your munchies at the same time, milk nd cereal - brilliant but try fresh fruit, especially sweet citrus fruits, the natural sugars and vitamins really blows your mind.

Also, juggling is suprisingly plausible activity whilst your stoned, keeps your mind active

  • Far too much respect is given to Philosophy ..Its not much better than Religion and its definitively not Science... Scientific minded people tended to philosophized thousands of years ago when they dindnt know any better...

  • @ShalloeThought I thank philosophy for logic and reason though.

  • That Bald Cunt should be unemployed

  • Wow... now that's one classic case of trying desperately to put unrelated arguments in her mouth.

So what if Plato talked about something that's supposedly like intelligent design? It still doesn't make it work as science. Newton was a firm believer in Alchemy, but we don't see teachers being harassed to teach the four elements and how to magically turn lead to gold as a supplement to the periodic system.

And I'm pretty sure that many ancient greek philosophers would say the earth is flat.

  • @charlesfloyb Yeah man, you get it. Yeah that old guy is shit, what a hard life having to sit in that massive comfy leather arm chair for hours and getting paid really well for it.....

  • I'm impressed with hoe she refused to be drawn by ANYTHING that the Board members tried.

  • retarded religious folk don't understand that science is not a public forum.

  • But if a student mentions a philisophical concept in an cooking class.......dick head, that student is high as shit, mentioning philosiphy in sceince class, who the fuck jumps from testing hypothesis in a algae dish to god? only stoners and home school kids, confiscate his stash, go home sick, pick up some cereal, milk and the Ghandi DVD on the way home and your done, its not that hard.

  • @shandcunt stoners dont use milk on cereal.

  • We need to teach the controversy around gravity, its jst a theory

  • @shandcunt Yes, since gravity can't explain for all the lack of mass in the surrounding galaxies. There must be dark energy and dark matter or maybe the theory has holes in it. Not sure what part of the theory can be improved upon, but obviously the theory of gravity can't explain everything. But, I get your point anyways.

  • Lol! The old guy in the BIG chair that's been swiveling back and forth not paying attention says, " My background is philosophy not science and I've SAT here about as long as I can." (laughter from the other members), and me too. You'd think after sitting on that big ass chair for so long, he could've drafted a better question.

  • You could certainly talk about the Timeaus (a much more pertinent dialog than the Republic) in terms of the history of science, but I don't imagine they get much of that in high school.

I'd like to see the reaction, though, if a teacher started telling his students that Christianity is false and the Myth of Er is true. I don;t think anyone on the board would like that.

  • whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.... we need to teach the controversy of the flying spaghetti monster along with creationism

  • Yep, we know about the volume problem. The original source audio is, alas, way to low. we've boosted it some, but go much beyond this and all you'll hear is noise. Our apologies!

  • @NatCen4ScienceEd There is such a thing as noise reduction filters. If used carefully, they can help too.

  • Have I mentioned please turn up the volume?

  • I covet the bald idiot's chair.

  • I'd love to ask the idiot asking the question at 1:10 why he expects that a student will be asking about a PHILOSPHY in Science class? Why not baseball? Tuna fish? If a student goes off-topic in Science class, it should be for the teacher to decide how far afield to let them go, but it should ALSO be imperative to stay ON topic in a science classroom. In other words, to stick to SCIENCE, not philosphy.
