  • Wow that was pretty damn good for a high school stage play, don't sell yourself short.

  • The special effects are quite good, but really, the acting is not even passable. It doesn't seem like the actors are even trying to breathe some life into their lines.

  • Wow, kudos to this high school production: Director, Set Design, Actors, Sound, and the rest. Jumpin' Yellow Brick Road, it's good!

  • Is this a film or stage production? Its very very impressive. Ive seen far less convincing cyclone sequences in expensive professional productions. This is excellent and the witch is WICKED!

  • Am I the only one who noticed Aunt Em's shirt was invisible?

  • I thought this was fantastic! I am always leary of "remakes" but you guys nailed it! Was this the only part or did you do the entire movie?

  • auntie m sit on my face,,, please

  • 1:03 LMAO! Dorothy does a dance move from Vogue while sinking slowly to her feet, just as a (non-related) large lightning bolt happens to strike right behind her

  • The techniques are very advanced for a high school production. But the acting is dull and misdirected.

  • dewefeyyy is what all u said

    you some enthusiasm

  • 1:04 epic fail :D

  • fail

  • THat is an awesome Tornado !

  • wow thats pretty bad.....really you gotta feel bad for even posting it.

  • @utubeview99857 The video techniques get an A, but the acting gets a D.

  • wow- terrible acting. sorry. but wonderfull animation!

  • ANTIE "M" ANTIE "M" BIN LADEN IS DEAD! DING DONG THE BITCH IS DEAD!

  • Whats wrong with " god damn it" ?

    Its a modern version then.

  • they said god damn it?

  • Thats exactly how I would call for help if I saw the Tri-State tornado heading for me.

  • What the fuck is this??? I'm laughing my ass off!!! Thank you for this!

  • where did you get the background footage for the video? im doing it for our local production.

  • Aunt Em sort of sounds like Luna Lovegood if you know what I mean....

  • This must be the stupid gay version of TWOO. The acting except for Toto sucked monkey balls.

  • Just out of curiosity, did your production use the RSC script?

  • y did there cloths start disappearing? 0:42

  • well I loved it! =)

  • fantastic!

  • This isnt serious, is it? lol

  • fail.

  • lol, it's so stupid it's funny when the house goes over the rainbow.

  • 0:57 is her body gone? XD

  • nice cackle!

  • great affect....bad acting i know i wouldnt nonchalent if a tornado was gonna come

  • well done!!! :)

  • im sorry but i would be more worried about that dorthey is missing durring twister would have been screaming my ass off

  • The Tornado & Cloud footage is beautiful!!

  • excellent effect, awful acting. no emotion.

  • what program did you use in post production? it seems that it wasn't quite croma-keyed wasn't 100%

-over all not bad (especailly if you you were going for the style of the era the setting takes place)

  • What is the name of that song when the witch is on the broom? the omnious music.LOL i want to set that as my girlfriends ringtone..!

  • this is not the actual movie scene, put that it's a school play in the title.

  • why put goddammit in it? Ruins what little good there was about the clip

  • it's in the script.

  • The production values are tops, but the bad acting most worthy of a Wicked Witch's Wrath!

  • wait is this your school orchestra playing? sounds pretty darn professional...

  • No I'd know this recording anywhere - its the original RSC cast recording's orchestra

  • For an "amateur" production, it's pretty damn good !

  • 1:28 Mary Poppins?

  • too bad dorothy wasn't actually in the house.

good stuff though, the witch was great!

what was the music from? because i know it's the movie music but it's in stereo and slightly different. if there's an album of the entire score that's been redone like with gone with the wind, u must have it!

  • I thought it was pretty good! bravo!

  • The acting is a little on the flat side, other than that, great animation, great script (I'm assuming u used the MGM one) well done.

  • Since one of the things you make clear is that this is a student performance, I rated you 5 out of 5. If the same clip had been by a "professional" company, I would still have given you a 4/5, so I hope you realize I think this is just great regardless of you resources. But I am confused. Is this a video of clips from your stage production someone someone enhanced for video or is this video something that was shown as part of your stage performance?

  • Hi there. Thanks for your message. This short film was projected for the cyclone scene live. The MGM script is done in darkness, voices off stage, so we decided to try something different

  • @garybeer Oh, thank you so much for your comment! Now my entire drama class would like to invite you to perform the act of procreation upon yourself.

    Then have a beer,gary.

  • who made that ? you guys are good!

  • haha...i don't know what to say...all i can do is laugh..haha

  • why is everyone whispering?

  • incredible!!!! the best video in youtube!!!

  • Dorthy is soo naughty

  • dorthy dorthy!!

  • I think you did an excellent job...fun

It wasn't about great acting...I think it adds to the overall look and feel.

  • Very well done! Top drawer!

  • It's theatre. Many high schools, including mine which was Catholic, allow profanity for theatre. I played the role of Matthew Poncelet in "Dead Man Walking" and every other word was a curse word...or the N word.

  • brilliant

  • You said this was a high school production?

Since when are high school students allowed to say "God-dammit?" (0:13) I am not critizing, just wondering.

In my humble opinion, it was very well done.

  • In Theatre, you get off with these minor things, its not exactly hardcore swearing. Well, perhaps things are different here in Scotland

  • I suppose so. But then again,I was doing high school theatre in the USA in the early 80's. I guess times have changed. In any case, it was very well done. I truly enjoyed it!

  • @videonetproductions Things are different in scotland.. xD

  • @videonetproductions Minor? its just breaking a commandment and a sin

  • @Sam3290 Allowed to say? HIgh School students say far worse things, not that this makes the remark acceptable. It is inappropriate for the material and the audience, and just unnecessary. We omitted it in our production since we have a policy against profanity.

There is a lot of extraneous dialogue in the RSC script, which used most of the original Noel Langley movie script. But parts of it do not enhance the story and are set ups for poor jokes that are not needed. We cut a lot out.

  • @Sam3290 ... at my high school we can say fuck, shit, tits and make very strong sexual references so are all the other schools in my area as long as the script warrants it its very difficult to get your play classed as inappropriate with out breaking any laws ... but I am from Canada and I go to an artsy school so people would complain if we were not allowed to express your self

  • it was good im always in plays n that was good

  • EXCELLENT WITCH!!!! over all very well put together! :-D

  • If you know the cast of this production and the school involved, you would realise how cleverly constructed this sequence is.

Try having a look at the many other 'high school' videos on you tube and then the critics might realise that this is a school where excellence is the operative word, and ambitious is the norm.

    Well done you guys!

  • It's not an acting school! As it has been said many a time, it's a comprehensive school (that I go to) where they rehearsed after school, for the majority of the time once a week! It's pretty damn good considering and if you had seen the actual stage performance I think you would be saying different!

  • Don't you love how easily the critics roll out the verbal abuse? If you don't have something nice to say...keep surfing! We are producing Oz soon and while I have seen this done before, I really love the clip of the twister you used and the color effect. Was this seen by the audience as a full stage view or on a little screen?

  • Thank you. The video was projected onto a huge screen, as it was produced in a large theatre. AGAIN folks, this was a school show with an average cast age of 13! Give us a break, for goodness sake.

  • @myzilla2 It seems the Internet attracts a lot of self-made "experts." I have seen some supposed "professional" production that were worthy of criticism. While OZ is certainly subject to varying interpretations, it reauqires a director who understands the material and the characters and has the imagination to create an original performance.

  • i cant believe the acting for this. Its horrific, horrible, bad.

  • This is the actual music from the orchestral score

  • do you have more to the movie? I'd like to see Dorothy in Oz!

  • This was a school play, with only the cyclone as a movie. Great alternative to shaking the set around on stage!

  • Was this a movie or a play

  • This was a school play in 2 full acts. This short video was projected as the cyclone scene.

  • was that mary poppins? lol

  • the girl playing auntie em makes me want to punch her!...her acting is so dry and mediocre!!

    she's not even yelling!!

  • Punch me? I don't think so! :P

It was difficult to recreate the dialogue over the top afterwards in the little sound booth thingy and I know I wasn't the strongest out of everyone.

But I was really proud to have been a part of that production, cos everyone worked so hard and it was so much fun and I don't think you should put us down, especially when you never saw the production onstage.

I think the video scene and effects were put together really well!

    xxx

ps Hello Johnathan! It's Sammy :)

  • were there people actuall on stge or was this whole thing a video u showed. like how'd u do the whole show? By video?

  • Hi! The show was the RSC stage music, performed on stage. It was just this cyclone scene we filmed before hand, as you can see it couldn't be done live on stage! J

  • What program did you use to do this. were working on wicked the musical.

  • This was made using a dirty old blue curtain in a school hall! Software used was Adobe After Effects & Avid Media Composer. Hope this helps! Where are you doing Wicked? I would love to see that show.

  • the witch is the only one with any emotion...

  • Wow hilarious as in cool!lol

  • amazing 5 stars

  • what program did you use to create the twister???

  • awsome
