@nso1256 Yes. I think in 2009 they used a modified Cheetah...I know they did at some point, but maybe not 2009. This year they had a new pattern just for this event, but it's always a reduced volume.
So this video just told me a lot how Wes Malott is a huge pussy. Oh i cant use my hi-tec urethane ball? Well then i just wont play. Fuck u wes malott and grow a pair.
who the fuck would give you a thumbs up! 1st malott is no where near a pussy, 2nd how many people have said that it was due to timing of the event, 3rd the "hi-tec" balls are not even urethane!
noooo....in fact, over the years, wood lanes absorb oil, so unless they're resurfaced (which isn't done as often now as before due to cost) the lanes get slicker as years go by....
it all boils down to less oil now....and more dry boards on the outside....and shorter patterns... than in years past...
Years ago in league we'd struggle to hook urethane in some flood houses...now I can hook plastic more...AND carry...
Lanes hook more now....here's why: centers put less units of oil, narrower pattern, thicker oil than 20, 30 years ago....plus the synthetic lanes that don't absorb oil (wood lanes over the years absorb oil that doesn't come out, and it makes the lane slicker and slicker over the years). add that to the fact that most houses don't oil to a x feet and then buff further, they oil to x and STRIP to the pindeck.....all that combines to the fact that the LANES hook more now, even for plastic balls
i just love that line..."bowling's equivalent to steroids..." that's a classic. i wish someone would start a thread about that... that would be a great debate right there.
Yeah, I was at a tournament in Burke, VA at the Bowl America Burke a while back in December. They forgot to put oil on the lanes. I used my Storm Rapid Fire Solid and man did it get scarred up! I hate plastic balls as primary balls, but for spares, that's all I need.
man i can't wait for the other parts! This is a battle of skills. No help from juiced up equipments. Thanks ricky for the upload. Still waiting for my vids.
anytime I can get away from the Cold weather is a good thing...I wish I could have rested a little more. btw tourney results ...Team (5 man) - 592 / Singles - 663 / Doubles - 636
Everybody wants rest. heh. Hell, I slept 3 extra hours today cuz i was awake since 6am. But your singles series was crazy. Usually I can't get above 590 when I bowl but I'm a 160 bowler myself and I bowl without thumb. So good going djricky. Didn't know you went far like that. Are you in the PBA regional tour?
Uhm, these are still juiced balls. Modern weight blocks, etc. Let's see them go out and do the same thing with a White Dot or something, then I'll be impressed.
first if u pay attention to the pin placements on the show u can see they are drilled to hook (yes u can drill a maxin to hook the same amount ive got the neon orange) the ball they r using is a 50th ann. for the PBA its fuckin plasic y u think pdw wasnt swinging the whole lane
Well, you keep telling yourself that these are "old school" balls, but I know better. I used them, they never hooked and hit like that no matter how you drilled them, no matter how dry the lanes were, no matter how much you cranked them.
well i have an old blue faball 80s hammer and a highly polished orange maxim and they both hook about 15 to 18 boards now thats a new ball and a ball thats older than me and the hook the same
Faball hammer was a urethane, even the pearl (which I had one of back in the day). So if your Maxim hooks as much as a urethane, what does that tell you? It tells me that they are still more "juiced" than a real "old-school" plastic ball.
I'm not knocking the pros, but let's be realistic. Half the guys out there today wouldn't be out there at allif it wasn't for the new technology. I know that's harsh, but it's true, nonetheless.
well i go kinda have my plastic ball sanded plus a shit load more hand then the old hammer i have been pushing for a plastic ball tourny at my home house for years the owner wont run one
I actually find it easier and score higher on sport shot oil, like scorpion, cheetah, etc. I average around 205 ths and 215 sport shot. Not sure how much of that is due to tourneys on sport shot, and I get pumped.
malott...what a FAG..

assuming wood lanes are maintained well, wood definitely creates more friction then synthetic.

I think the balls has only a small pancake type of weight block which was by the way almost the same weight blocks of the white dots

dude they are plastic same standard 3 piece core jackass

I highly doubt that...

plus all urethanes good for on any kind of synthetic lanes is to hook and set they dont act the same as they do on wood
crashbandit900 3 years ago
and its obvious u havent hade much experiance on the pro lane conditions any jackass can bowl on a THS we have a sports shot as our house shot

It doesn't matter what ball you are throwing, if you throw it in the dry with revs, it is going to hook. Period.

I'd love to see a 7lbs pink house ball PBA tournament :P
It would be awesome to see Wes Mallott throw a 60 mph ball lol.
