  • nice video, but dont know abut using ex fires and ending combos with spears though. btw do you have any thoughts on the use of ex spear against JC for example, can you check JC with it?

  • @groundmoves0318 If you have 3 bars of meter, it might be worth it to add 8% damage to any of your BnB combos. As for EX Spear against JC, I don't think it's a good idea to do it unless you are countering a jump-in attack. Against Cage, you want to anti-air him as much as possible, get your big combo, and retreat. Staying in Cage's face isn't a good idea as Scorpion.

  • @ALWAYSKINGOFNYC yeah but i was actually referring to the ex spear because it has armor. i have trouble finding a good jc player who has a decent knowledge about his frame traps. for example in a situation where he uses his forward 3 which is safe on block, jc players will usually pressure you further , doesnt this almost guarantee a succesful ex spear , because you tabsorb his hits with armor and hit him with a spear?

  • As a scorpion player, I know for a fact that Scorpion has a better overhead, and thats 2, 1+2. Off of a jumpin, I can do 36% without meter, and at the very end, still continue the vortex. So here's my combo if you want to know. (Assuming I'm on the left side of the screen). Jump-in-punch, 1, 1+2, teleport, dash towards, 1,1,1, spear, jump over opponent (or back up then jump in), and the combo that starts the vortex then teleport lol.

  • @TheSkyCries1 but if you want to use spear or teleport after you must commit to the imout or it wont come out. So if the block it then you spear or teleport they can punish that.

  • Just include one more punch and you can do 30% damage after the sword starter insead of 27% and 40% damage after the punch starter instead of 37%. You also do more damage if you teleport punch after the shoulder charge starter instead of throwing the spear right away.

  • I'm very impressed of how unpredictable Scorpion can be when using these 50/50s. I always had my doubts for Scorpion, but I feel pretty comfortable using him now. I actually knew scorpion could stagger with f2 1+2 teleport, but I never thought about all those mixup options and possiblities.

    I meant it like dont do a lab with Kung Loa Raiden because the last thing I want is to have people who I can barely beat with my sub-zero become EVEN better (just like how all the bad scorpions are going to become better :) )

    I would love to see a Cage lab because I really like him (although I only can defeat people when I get them in the corner, I'm basicly doomed when I face someone midscreen with no meter)

  • @TheScreamingGoblin Yea, I know what you meant; I was just joking lol. The way to get in with Cage midscreen is patience- dash block your way in slowly and never let them get cross up punches. Before long you will have them in the corner. If you win an air to air, you have to have the reactions to quickly dash in and do 11 dash 11 dash 44 Nut Punch or 2 dash 2 dash 44 Nut Punch. After that, the ball's in your field.

  • Just a quick note: scorpion is not top tier or very good characters because he cannot do anything about the pressure that most "good" characters can put up.

    Same goes for his wake-up game since even his ex teleport can be interrupted by quick jabs.

  • 4. You can get much more damage off of b+2 overhead if you jump kick, teleport punch, dash in 2,1, spear.

    5. You neglected to mention that you get a safe jump in punch after a teleport punch ender, so there is little reason to start your mixup without it other than simply mixing things up for the sake of mixing things up.

  • There are many things you missed.

    1. After any spear, you can add a jump in punch chained into f+2,1 for extra damage, instead of just going straight into f+2,1.

    2. 2,1+2 can also be chained into teleport punch, dash 2,1 spear for more damage than just going straight into spear.

    3. After ex teleport punching them into the corner, the best combo would be b+2, jump kick, teleport punch, 2,1 spear for max damage, and even optimal vortex set up, considering you can jump over punch into f+2,1.

  • @dRphy Technically, max damage after an ex teleport punching them into the corner would be B+2, jump kick, teleport, jump kick, ex teleport, quick dash, 1, 1, spear, crossover punch, F+2, 1, EX teleport, jump kick, air throw.

    Not nearly as hard as you might think to execute, and it does 19 hits for 60% damage. You can add a little more to that with jump punch, F+2, 1 before the 1st EX teleport.

  • @methais I meant max damage if you weren't planning on spending more meter and wanted the same teleport punch oki ender. As in, the combo he showed in the video was basically obsolete.

  • @dRphy While I thank you for pointing out some of these things I missed, I have to say that I didn't cover all of this because this would turn the video into at least a 30 minute video. This video was meant to give you strats and tips that worked and are easy and effective. Of course there are bigger combos with Scorpion and you can sneak in a few normals for slightly more damage, but that wasn't my goal with the video. My goal with the video was to keep it simple and effective.

  • @ALWAYSKINGOFNYC little bit of more info........ the 2 1+2 can be linked into a teleport x x x spear into his 50/50 game...... not only does the 50/50 have advantage but you can also do a jp after the teleport.. the f4 is risky but it can be mixed in with the low sweep or the ex teleport.... when ur in the corner and ex teleport it can be punished by a uppercut so can the regular teleport or a poke............... his x x x string is good but also bad b/c it can be uppercuted and if

  • @ALWAYSKINGOFNYC the ex teleprt is blocked.... for some odd reason his a a string has advantage over other strings and is hard to uppercut i believe

  • @ALWAYSKINGOFNYC and if ur not sure about what the opponent is going to block just jp then grab or just grab a good 50/50 kombo into a grab that does 50% is.... jp 2 1+2 db3 dash x x x spear or ex spear....... jp f2 1 db3 jp grab if the opponent blocks it its 50% gone already or if they try to jump to avoid the grab u can punish w/ a jk into a teleport 50/50
